The earth began to rumble and shake alerting the exorcists that the something was going to happen and to their shock, the same Akuma Allen was fighting earlier, came back as ferocious as ever. It growled loudly, angered by the previously supposed defeat they thought Allen had accomplished. Amber jumped into action quickly, ordering Kanda to keep Allen down while the rest of them proceeded to fight. She ran forward, leading her teammates to the charge.

"Man Man Man!"

Kanda watched as Lavi raised his hammer and smashed on one of the many eyeballs of the Akuma while Leenalee in her Dark Boots, took out the other eye. Occupied, he watched as Amber now in her father's coat runs on the wall before smoothly jumping backwards to lie on the Akuma's head.

"Kanda...please tell me how did Link die?"

The samurai turned back sharply, speaking to him thoughtfully as he scrutinised Allen, "You didn't kill him then...since you didn't know until we told you."

"But how did he die?"

Kanda hears a sharp battle cry and turns again seeing his girlfriend destroy the Akuma effortlessly with her innocence daggers, the monster disintegrates beneath her and Amber lands on her feet without ay difficulty. He couldn't help but smirk at the sight of her long legs peeking out from her coat, but he didn't realise that Allen was still waiting for an answer.

"Link?"

"He died from mortal wounds Moyashi, stabbing I heard" answers the distracted samurai.

"Oh"

Kanda continues to watch as Amber leads Lavi and Leenalee to take down the large Akuma with precision and efficiency. Amber's pretty face had on a fierce expression as she acrobatically manoeuvres her body in each attack strike she lands.

"So how is it going between the both of you?"

Kanda frowns, turning to look at him, "Why do you care?"

Allen attempted a shrug, but it was a bit hard to considering his shoulder was significantly sore from when he was forced brutally onto the ground, "Well, I am her adopted brother."

There was a scoff causing Allen to roll his eyes, "Come on, we all care about her. You can't blame me for being concerned when you first called yourself her boyfriend the last time we met."

"Firstly, I don't see why it's such a problem. Secondly, Kit's father isn't here to terrorise anyone. Lastly, I will maim anyone that tries anything with her."

Allen knew there was conviction in the man's words, a look of seriousness on his Kanda's face, "You love her, don't you?"

"None of your business."

The white-haired exorcist blinked before turning to look at Amber where she was standing with Leenalee and Lavi, but what caught his attention was that Lavi had a hand to the middle of Amber's back, their hips practically touching as they seemed to be talking.

"Lavi probably likes her as much as you do though, how come you're not doing anything?"

"I don't need to worry about Lavi Moyashi."

"And why's that?"

"Because I'm the only man that could ever match up to her."

Johnny suddenly appears, saying he was helping to evacuate people from the area that why he was absent. Kanda informed him that Allen didn't kill Link causing Johnny to smile in relief.

"You didn't kill him then if you didn't know! It was soon after you left prison, Allen! Inspector Leville and the guards that were chasing after you found his body!" Johnny adjusted his spectacles once he finished; he was happy to hear that his friend was innocent of such a heinous crime.

Apochryphos!

Allen gritted his teeth in disdain, Kanda observing this until his girlfriend approaches behind him. The sweet scent of her soap filled his nostrils before she presses her chest to his back and kisses his ear affectionately. She whispers to him to release Allen as she hands him two pairs of cuffs. He nods absent-minded, his head whirring from her kiss to his sensitive point. Allen watches curiously as a slightly reddish Kanda cuff his legs and hands and helps him stand up.

"You are so whipped by her."

The samurai smacks Allen on the back of his head, mute still causing Amber to smile at the familiarity of the moment before stepping so close to Allen that her lips were an inch away. She whispers something in Latin, and Allen's eyes turned to a bright pink before becoming limp and falling into her arms.

"Pick him up and let's go."

Amber walked around Allen as he laid on the bed restrained, she was deep in thought while her team watched her curiously. Aside from Kanda, they all looked worried. Johhny meanwhile had sauntered off after taking Allen's blood, hoping to find some answers on his own.

"Should I yell at him to get up again?" asks Kanda, tired of waiting.

Lavi grinned, "Or we could just read one of Cross's bills aloud. That's sure to work!"

Leenalee shushed them gently, looking thoughtfully at Allen's unconscious body, "Honestly, I don't think this is normal sleep."

Lavi frowned, "How do you figure?"

"I think Allen is fighting with the 14th's memories. I believe he is trying to keep his humanity."

Kanda deadpanned, watching his girlfriend pace around the bed, deep in concentration while Lavi concluded something on his own.

"I think you're right, knowing how he is. Allen will keep on stubbornly fighting. This battle he has going on inside himself, it's only just begun."

Amber knew she needed to examine him with her magic, but she knew it would take a lot out of her; hence why she needed her team to be present if she was going to do this. She takes a deep breath and stops her pacing at Allen's head, she moves her slender fingers to his face and slowly centred her energy from her core. Everyone watched as her hands glowed green and slowly, Amber's body was doing the same too with the more focus the redhead was pouring into the spell. She started muttering some incoherent words under her breath, but that was when Allen began to react and started seizing. Lavi and Kanda rushed in trying to keep Allen from breaking his bonds. Leenalee watched as Amber's face continued to remain absorbed in whatever she was doing, her focus unwavering as she was trying to pry into his mind.

Suddenly Allen stopped seizing, and Amber collapses a moment later, there was a loud thud when she fell to the floor, and Kanda rushes to her side in a heartbeat, picking her up in his arms.

It was white. All Amber could see was white.

Amber turns groggily, her head spinning from the travel, she looks around trying to adjust to her new surroundings. She lies on her back, slowly regaining her strength. The redhead takes a deep breath and gets up from the floor. She walks down the hallway in front of her, her body felt cold, and she didn't know what was causing it, but she tried to keep calm. The spell won't last long, and if she overexerted herself, she could suffer adverse repercussions along with Allen. She didn't have much time. She breaks into a running, going down the unknown hallway but as she continues further, everything becomes dark.

Kanda brought Amber to her room, laying her on the bed; he was getting worried. She didn't tell him what she was doing. Kit mentioned that she might pass out and she needed to rest, but she never said a thing her continuous sweating while unconscious.

The ordinarily stoic samurai moves to take her warm hand in his gloved one, kissing it affectionately. "Amber, I need you. Please. I'll wait for you; I'll protect you so when I get back I want to see you awake and well. Do you hear me, Kitsune?"

Kanda's attention broke by the coughing he hears. He turns to where the door was to see Lavi there with a bowl of water and a rag.

"Are you going somewhere? You said-"

"How long have you been there?"

"A while."

Kanda frowns, unhappy that he was being watched with his knowledge but decided to let it go for now. He gets up from his chair with the intent to leave, "Right well then please just look after her. It shouldn't take long for me to handle it."

"Handle what?"

The samurai ignores him and continues through the door and down the hallway. He had a stalker to face.

Amber stopped, sweating profusely. She breathed heavily, bending her back as she panted with her hands on her knees for support. She's been running for what felt like hours. Why was there only a hallway? Why hasn't she seen anything significant?

She couldn't ponder for long because her immediate danger sense kicked in and bent her body to the side just in time, narrowly avoiding Wisely's attempt to split her in two. She crawled back, the hallway illuminated by white light allowing her to clearly see the Noah Wisely Kamelot looking at her menacingly, his arms morphed into this freakishly looking axe-blades.

"A mind can only handle one explorer at a time, and I need to be here to look into this brat's mind, so it looks like, I am going to have to kill you."

Amber glared, standing up. She clasps her hands together, and a giant scythe materialised in her hands as she moved them apart. She twirled it expertly before moving into an attack stance, "You can sure as hell try, but we both know you're going to be the one to die here."

Wisely snickered before advancing to lunge at her, "DIE MARIAN!"

Kanda walks out into the cold night, lifting his coat's collar against the winds. He hated leaving behind his girlfriend under Lavi's care, but he had no choice, he needed to know who was watching the apartment. He turns to where he senses the oddly familiar presence, staring into the dark alley, his eyes widening when he sees someone that was supposedly dead.

"Dog of Leville! How are you fucking alive?!"
