I pick up a rock and throw it, hard, across the water before flopping down in the sand and putting my face in my hands.
Jacob imprinted. Of course. Jacob would get his happy ending.
Pining after Sam wasn't how I wanted to spent the rest of forever.
If I could only imprint...
I sigh and stand, deciding to go to the bar in town. Drink my worries away.
I move into the woods and strip quickly, putting my clothes in a neat pile, before shifting and heading there. I went there so much, I started leaving clothes there, so I was good with leaving the clothes I'd worn here.
Walking in the bar, I catch a wiff of vampire but I can't detect who it's coming from.
I flop down in a seat and take a sip of the beer already waiting for me.
I glance around, my eyes landing on the man next to me. He's got dark hair and teak-colored eyes; something about him is kind of foreign. He looks at me, and there's a wise look in his eyes along with a deep sadness.
"Hey," he takes a sip of his beer.
"Hey," I reply, glancing him up and down and then looking away.
"Who're you?" he asks.
I glance at him sideways, "Who's asking?"
"Nahuel." he smiles slyly and holds out his hand for me to shake.
"Leah," I take his hand, shake it once. He feels the same temperature as me. I frown and pull my hand back, looking away once more.
"Can-," he hesitates, "Can I take you out? Sometime?"
I blink, surprised, "Uh.. No."
He falters then grins, "Ah, come on, Leah," I like the sound of my name coming from his mouth.
That's when I decide I could use a distraction. Like the hot man in front of me. Human. Normal. No imprint. Nothing. I finally nod, a small smile grazing my lips, "Fine."
He smiles, his face lighting up, "How about that italian restaurant in Seattle? Tomorrow?"
I nod.
"I'll pick you up at six. Can I get your address?" he asks, peering up at me with intense eyes.
I hesitate, "I'll meet you here."
He nods, "Alright, cya tomorrow, Leah," he smiles then stands.
I note with a small smile that he's shorter than me by a few inches. He waves and then he's gone.
I sigh, taking another sip of my beer.
This would be interesting.
