AFTERMATH
It wasn't Face's fault. If anything it was Hannibal's fault. He was the one who had come up with the brilliant idea to sneak up on the VC thinking they would never suspect an attack from behind. Not only had they suspected but they had won resulting in Hannibal, B.A., Face, and Murdock winding up in a POW camp. They had been there for three long months. During that time Hannibal had seen and heard things he never wanted to see or hear again. But they had escaped. Finally.
Face had held it together long enough to carry Murdock on his back until they found an abandoned helicopter and Murdock had flown them out. Face had helped hold off the VC and had remained normal until they reached the base and all of the men had been taken to the hospital. Face had been terrified, trying to fight off the orderlies that attempted to separate him and Murdock; calming down only when Hannibal told him they were safe.
The next time Hannibal had seen Face he had been gone. Not dead but not there either. His body was there but his eyes were blank, staring at something nobody else could see. The doctor had tried to take him the psychiatric ward but B.A. had stopped him. Nobody was taking his little brother anywhere and especially not to no crazy ward.
Face had been completely unresponsive; not moving, not talking. Not anything. Hannibal had been worried. So worried he actually considered sending Face home with a section eight discharge. B.A. hadn't been too thrilled but even he understood that it might be necessary.
Hannibal had been in the process of filling out the paperwork when it happened. An orderly made the mistake of slapping Murdock when he refused to take his meds. Faster than any of them could blink Face had flown across the room and had the orderly up against the wall, hand on his throat.
"If you ever touch him again I swear I will kill you," Face had growled through gritted teeth.
Hannibal had looked up and then torn up the paperwork. For just a minute he had seen a little bit of the man that had deliberately taunted the guards so they would torture him instead of Murdock. For just a minute he had seen a glimpse of Face.
After that Face slowly came out of his shell, one inch at a time and almost always when he was around Murdock. The crazy pilot had a way of getting to Face, a way that no one else knew. Quite frankly Hannibal didn't care. As long as his men were all right he didn't care.
A/N: Yes I am going to finish my Transformers story and start on a couple of Teen Titans stories but I found this one and decided to go ahead and post it.
