Chapter 1:
Hello Again!
This whole story is being revised so it can be even better! I hope you all like the changes I am making!
Anyway In this story there is something that happens that may be a bit touchy for some people. I am in no way trying to make fun of people who cut themselves, matter of fact my best friend used to. So if you want to stop reading I totally understand. And I do not want any mean reviews telling me how serious cutting is! I know! I'll never understand it but I'm not the type to judge. And if any of you need to talk to me about anything my heart is always open.
Well then I hope you enjoy this! Yami do the disclaimer!
Yami: I hate you sometimes. Shadow does not own Yu-gi-oh!
Yugi inhaled deeply after pulling his tight black shirt over his head. He loved the thing but it took way to much effort to pull on. He began to adjust himself and reached for his millennium puzzle, which was a copy if his favorite singers when he felt a sudden pang of guilt run through his chest when he saw a recent cut he had made on his wrist. The promise had made to his friends that he would stop came back into his mind and he frowned and let himself fall back onto his bed. It wasn't like he hadn't made a valiant effort to stop because he really had. Yugi had tried everything from the rubber band trick to the stress-relief coloring books, but nothing made him feel like he did when he cut. He's been doing it since seventh grade, using his mother's makeup to cover them up and when he didn't have access to her make-up he would wear long sleeves even if he boiled throughout the day.
It wasn't until a year ago when Tea had surprised him a little too early in the morning for school that she found out. He was a bit to careless and distracted by the conversation they were having and pulled his left arm out from under the pillow and she saw them. She had yelled at him at first, demanding him to tell her the reason why he had done it, and at the time he hadn't had a reason to and nor does he have a reason now. It had become a habit. A habit that he didn't know how to stop. After that he broke the news to his other friends one at a time, leaving out his grandfather and mother. Ryou first, then Joey who told Serenity, then Malik, then Tristan, and then Duke. Out of all of them Joey seemed to understand it the best. They were all very disappointed in him and he was disappointed in himself as well but there was nothing he could do now, his body needed it to feel okay. It had become a stress reliever, he felt so much better after he cut and when he didn't do it he was on edge and cranky. His friends had started to ask him to show them his wrists when he was a little bit too happy and tried to not upset him when he was cranky. Yugi knew it hurt them and for their sake he wanted to stop and even when he tried to he couldn't. The longest he's ever gone without doing it is a month and he had physically hit Joey when the blonde had picked on him, not in a bad way just in a friendly joke but it gotten Yugi a little too mad than it should have. He just couldn't stop no matter how hard he wanted to.
Shaking his head to rid himself of the depressing thoughts and feeling he jumped out of bed and pulled on his pants, boots, wrist cuffs, jacket and belt before grabbing his phone, wallet and car keys and ran down the stairs into the game shop.
He noticed his friends hadn't got there yet and his grandpa and mother were out to dinner with his sister. They had asked Yugi if he wanted them to bring him home anything but Yugi had refused, he hadn't eaten in two days so why start now? So with nothing better to do he just sat behind the counter in the game shop just staring off into nothing and waiting for them so they could all leave for the concert of a lifetime. His mind slowly wondered back to 'that' certain subject as he fiddled with some action figures that stood on top of the glass counter. He felt the tears coming to his eyes so hid his face in his hands and let out a sob.
'Why can't I stop when I so desperately want to? Is it that hard to do? I honestly don't even want to stop…..No, you do Yugi….you do!' He thought to himself. He didn't want to have to go to some shrink because all that would do is make him feel insane and may lead to rehab which Yugi would do anything to avoid, but if he couldn't stop on his own he was afraid he would have to.
He sat back up and composed himself just as his friends walked through the door. Joey immediately ran over and jumped on the counter, knocking over a stack of DVDs in the process.
"Nice going Joey." Tristan said with a smile and an eye-roll.
"Oh shut up Tristan!" Joey said before turning to Yugi. "Hey there buddy of mine. Ready to go to maybe the best concert of our lives?" Joey asked with a big smile.
Yugi shook his head but quickly nodded. "Of course! Now help me pick up this discs you knocked over." He said with a playful stern look. Joey slid off the counter with a laugh and began picking up the discs and placing them back on the counter. When they were done Yugi grabbed the edge of the counter to hoist himself up causing his shirt sleeve to ride up, revealing the red lines that marred his wrists and Tea cleared her throat. "Yugi"
Yugi cursed under his breath and turned towards his brunette friend. "Tea, we are not talking about this now, and we aren't going through this again. Just drop it and shut your mouth." Snatching his car keys up into his hand he walked out of the door.
Joey glared at Tea after the door slammed shut. "Tea you know he regrets doing it and even startin'. So why do you bring it up every time you see him? He's really trying, you know he is!"
"I just can't believe he's still doing it. He needs to get help because if he keeps doing it he could really hurt himself." She said flipping her hair out of her face. "I'm just worried about him, I'd really rather not get a call from his grandpa saying he's dead Joey!"
Malik rolled his eyes. "He doesn't want to go to the Psych Ward because he's not crazy Tea. He's trying to stop but you can't see it. So stop cornering him every time you see a new cut! Were all worried about him but he has to make the choice on his own, we can't force him. We all know Yuge has been through more in his sixteen years than he should have. We need to support him not corner him." With that Malik walked out of the Game Shop with Ryou, Tristan, Serenity and Joey behind him.
Tea gritted her teeth and shot an angry glare at her friend's backs. Nothing made her angrier than their attitude, Yugi would never stop if they continued letting it slide like this. She sighed and followed after the rest of the group.
Yugi was leaned up against his Mustang when he saw Malik, Joey, Ryou, Serenity, and Tristan walking around the corner of the game shop towards where he parked his car. He moved to open the door but found a hand on his.
Looking up he saw it was Joey. "Listen man, she doesn't mean it in a bad way. She's just worried about you. In fact we all are."
Yugi looked down. "Don't you think I realize that? I'm worried myself, but I can't stop because I don't know how. You all know I've tried, I've tried so hard Joey. Now can we please just have a good night? If we don't get going we'll miss the concert."
Joey sighed, taking his hand away to allow Yugi to open the car door. He walked around to the passenger side and opened the door.
Only Joey, Yugi, Ryou, and Malik rode in Yugi's car while Tristan, Serenity and Tea followed in Tea's Mercedes Bens.
As expected the stadium was packed with how famous the band Hidden Evidence was at the time. The screams of the teenage girls were heard as pictures of the band members flashed on a screen above their heads. The group of friends had front row tickets thanks to Joey's older step-sister, Mai who was the bands guitarist. They got to their seats just as the lights dimmed.
To Yugi's displeasure he had to sit beside to Tea who gave him a death glare. "I still don't understand why you can't just stop."
Yugi clenched his fists, he didn't even notice the band come out and get ready to play he turned to Tea and completely blew up on her. "I wish you would shut the fuck up about me and my problems. I thought you understood the reason why I do it. So if you have a problem with it then you need to stop associating with me. I fucking hate the way you bring it up in every fucking conversation. I'm so damn tired of it! If I could stop I would but I can't so you need to get over yourself and deal with it!"
When Yugi had finished yelling Mai, who had originally just wanted to wave to her siblings was staring at them along with the lead singer Yami. He bent down and flashed a smirk. "Are you done? Because we'd like to start the show."
Yugi looked up the voice. Yami Sennen was bent down in front of him and was staring straight at him with those crimson red eyes. Yugi hadn't really told anyone but Joey that he was gay and he was staring at the one person he wanted to be with most. That tanned skin stretched across those muscles, and the way his black, blonde, and red hair contrasted with his eyes made him look so exotic. His signature golden head fixture gleamed in the stage lights.
Yugi silently nodded and bit his bottom lip. Yami smirked and nodded standing back up.
Tea leaned back in her seat. "Now if he knew he defiantly wouldn't talk to you." She said with a hair flip.
The rest of the group gasped. "Tea! That's enough!"
Yugi jolted up from his seat, his vision blurred by tears. He barely heard Joey yell at him to come back as he ran as fast as he could out of the stadium and collapsed onto the ground, rain drenching his clothes, the water stinging fresh cuts.
