Spoilers for The Girl Who Waited! Just something that popped into my head and demanded to be written. Please read and review!
I own nothing but ideas. And sometimes not even then.
She kept the lipstick. Why did she keep the lipstick? Because she wasn't Amy Pond without the lipstick. Amy without the lipstick applied every morning, religiously, wasn't as amazing, as fun, as Amy as she usually was.
Because in those first weeks, she kept it to reapply the sign for the Doctor and Rory. Until that day, a year later, that she got so upset, so mad, so disappointed that she rubbed it away. The smudges were still there, of course, but why had she kept the lipstick, after all those years?
Amy picked it up, lifted it towards her lips, and hesitated.
She was not Amy Pond of thirty six years ago, who needed to wear the lipstick every morning. She hadn't been for decades. She couldn't have been that superficial, could she?
She didn't need to wear make-up anymore. She was too old—Rory was too young.
She wondered how she looked now; Her hair was still a vibrant red, her skin color the same. Had she put on some weight? Was she as beautiful as she had been? How many wrinkles did she have?
Did Rory see her as beautiful? Or did he just see an older Amy, an Amy that is his but not his, an Amy who refuses to let her be saved by the two people who love her?
The one person.
She shook her head and put the lipstick back down. Rory once told her that he thought she was more beautiful without the lipstick, hadn't he?
Did he still love her? Or was he in love with younger Amy, who would be trapped here for 36 years, because of her?
She stared at the lipstick. She was Amy Pond, but she was not Rory's Amy Pond or the Doctor's Amy Pond. Not anymore.
She was nobody's Amy Pond. Not even her own.
So why did she keep the lipstick?
