Sorry for the insanely long wait. I tried to make it really good so hopefully it lives up town at I planned. Enjoy
Ch 25
Percy POV
"I thought you said this was the easy part," Aldora said teasingly reaching for her bangle bracelets.
"Honestly I thought we would just walk up and hand the trident over and be done," I answered.
"Well let's get this over with," Aldora stepped out of the elevator, making the first move.
Monsters I didn't even recognize were surrounding her and it scared the shit out of me. I didn't have any idea what was going on. Was this an attack on Olympus or an attack on just the two of us. My guess, probably us.
"A little help would be nice," Aldora yelled over the screams and roars of all the monsters.
"Gees I'm coming," I said stepping out of the safety of the elevator and uncapping Ripetide.
These monsters didn't die as easily, they almost seemed resistant to our weapons. The second I steeped foot out of the elevator they had engulfed me. I couldn't see Aldora, Olympus or anything other then slobber, teeth, fangs, blood, and claws. I stabbed, swerved, ducked and kicked at these odd monsters, adrenaline pumping through my veins.
"Percy!" I heard Aldora yell.
"Aldora! Where are you?"
"Percy I need you to get back into the elevator, I have an idea but I don't want to hurt you," Aldora yelled from somewhere in the crowd of monsters.
"I'm not leaving you here to fight on your own,"
"You won't be leaving just step in the elevator so I can do this." She yelled back. I wasn't leaving her our here all alone to deal with all these monsters.
I stepped towards the elevator but still so I could fight with her, "Ok I'm in the elevator,"
Next thing I knew the whole place was engulfed in flame, everything was covered, all the monsters burning, Aldora and I were covered I didn't feel like I was burning though, it just tingled a little. Her plan was absolutely brilliant. Our weapons didn't seem to do anything but fire definitely did. I looked around and everything was burning, Aldora standing in the middle. I felt light headed, I would end up burning because I hadn't listened to Aldora. Then I passed out.
Aldoras POV
I'm probably going to get in a lot of trouble for this, I thought as I let the fire die. I called out to tell Percy it was safe but before I had managed to say anything I looked over and saw Percy sprawled in a lump on the ground with the trident still clutched in his left hand.
"Dam it you seaweed brain." I muttered while opening my backpack to find some ambrosia to feed him.
"What happened?" Percy moaned before I'd found the ambrosia.
I took his hand and rubbed my thumb on the inside of his palm forgetting the ambrosia. "You where an idiot as usual."
"I understand that but why am I not burned at all. Sure I have some immunity to fire but I shouldn't have that much." Percy barely managed to whisper.
I hadn't even thought about that. He should have a bit of a burn but there was no visible evidence of anything. "I have no clue. I didn't do anything if thats what your wondering. How do you feel?"
"Drained." He said trying to sit up. "We need to get to the throne room.''
"Slow down, you don't want to pass out again." I said while slowly helping him stand up and draping his arm over my shoulders. I wasn't gonna convince him to sit and wait nor did I want to leave him behind.
"We need to get there right now," Percy said tying to take some of his weight off of me.
"Your not getting there any faster then I let you and we are not teleporting there I don't think you want to greet your parents passed out"
"Wouldn't be the first or last time," Percy mumbled.
"No but still not the best way to bring back the trident," I replied. "Poseidon would just blame me as usual."
"I won't let anything happen to you." Percy said as we started climbing the stairs.
"Nothing's going to happen" I said rolling my eyes and just about tripping up the stairs.
"Don't drop me," Percy said laughing at me.
"Don't provoke me cause I will dump you right here." I pulled the massive 20 foot door open and stumbled inside dragging Percy along with me. You could hear fighting from the throne room and I instantly knew we were late and would be on opposite sides of a massive war that we didn't want to be in.
"Percy, Aldora get in here now," My fathers booming voice filled the circular room. I hauled Percy through the short hall that opened into the massive throne room. Where our parents were on opposite sides of the room each with an entourage of gods and goddesses behind them.
"What happened to him?" Aphrodite asked.
"I have the trident," Percy said lazily lifting it toward his father.
"What cause your girlfriend finally decided to give it up?" Poseidon snickered exaggerating on girlfriend.
"She didn't take it and you know it," Percy said trying to amplify his voice. I looked around the throne room and noticed that most of the Olympians where already on their chosen side and where dressed for battle. My mother sat by the hearth quietly tending the fire.
"Well my own kids surely wouldn't have taken it," Poseidon stated causing a roar from a lot of the other Olympians.
"So who do you think took it?" Athena yelled over the others.
I looked at Percy before answering for him, using the same words as when he told me, "Navid and Triton."
That really caused Poseidon to get mad, "my guards would absolutely not steal from me, nor my own son,"
"Think about it Poseidon, it makes sense. Their close to you which makes you not as worried about what they could do to you," Hermes added.
"It couldn't possibly be," Poseidon's anger was definitely rising at an alarming rate.
"Are you seriously going to tell the God of Thieves that he doesn't know how people steal?" Artemis asked.
"Yes I am going to tell him that," Poseidon roared turning red with rage.
"What evidence do you have supporting this?" My father asked looking eager to end this dilemma.
"He sabotage our quest, kidnapped and abused Aldora, mislead me and hide the trident where no one would have expected to find it," Percy said, somehow finding his strength.
"I watched your quest along with Hera and-," Zeus paused, looking over at his wife, "I believe you, Poseidon can do no harm to my daughter and will have to punish the criminals himself." Relief flooded me as my fathers words filled every corner of the room. Percy grabbed me in a bear hug and we held each other while Poseidon argued with Zeus.
"I told you I'd keep you safe," Percy whispered in my ear only loud enough for me to hear. By the time we let go, the Olympians where back in their seats ready to continue the meeting. Two chairs had appeared beside us indicating they wanted us to stay. Percy sat down (more of a flop) followed by me. The Olympians babbled about who knows what but honestly I didn't pay much attention until I heard my name spoken and Percy nudged me in the side.
"Aldora you may want to pay attention to what they are talking about," my mother spoke up for the first time since we had arrived.
"As I was saying, Percy, Aldora we kept you here, not just for your own enjoyment which I'm sure you had originally thought. There are some things you have yet to learn about yourselves," gods if this becomes one of those awkward parent talks you get when you start dating I'm honestly going to die, "I know for a fact that there is more that you are god or goddess of, the two of you together are the gods of Hero's," ok well that took a different twist and one that I hadn't expected and nor had Percy from the look of his face.
"Could you repeat that," I asked not able to comprehend what dad had said.
"You and Percy are the joint gods of Hero's," Dad said talking real slow and pointing at the two of us to add emphasis.
"But how's that possible? What does that mean for us?" Percy asked.
"It means I don't have to look after that scum of a camp anymore!" Dionysus added triumphantly.
"True but it means the two of you have to look after the camp and protect the demigods. Of course Chiron is staying and will help you but that is your new roles and with that comes new powers that none of us can predict for you. Also you should probably head back to camp and talk to Chiron," dad said and he teleported us to Half Blood Hill.
"Well that was interesting," Percy said as we headed down the hill to find Chiron. Campers gave us odd looks like they hadn't expected us to actually return but I just ignored them. Connor came up to us with a smile on his face just as Percy came up beside me and slipped his hand into mine.
"Have you seen Chiron?" I asked.
"Umm yea he was just in the Mess Hall," he replied as his smile slowly left his face.
"Thanks Connor," Percy replied and dragged me in the direction of the Mess Hall. "I still don't like that kid," Percy whispered once we were out of earshot.
"Just think, you can make him do whatever you want now," I whispered back.
"Percy, Aldora welcome back. I hear you have some exciting news to share," Chiron called as we entered the Mess Hall.
"Well Dionysus won't be coming back anytime soon," I said still not believing that Percy and I were going to be running the camp.
"Zeus finally decided to let him free?" Chiron asked.
"Not exactly, Aldora and I are the gods of Hero's so the camps now our responsibility and all the demigods out there," Percy answered for me.
"I'd been wondering if something like this was going to happen," Chiron muttered under his breath.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"It's just with the Great Prophecy-"Chiron said stopping short.
"What about the great prophecy?" Percy eagerly asked.
"Nothing, I've said to much already. We should go tell the campers," Chiron stated heading towards the campers.
" Chiron wait, we were thinking we could go visit Sally first for a couple of days before letting everyone know," I blurted, right before he left. Subconsciously I'd stepped closer to Chiron, My one arm now stretched behind me not having let go of Percy.
"I supposed what they don't know won't hurt them, enjoy your visit," Chiron answered before leaving.
Before I knew it Percy had teleported us to Sally's. The thick forest just blocking her house and the smell of the creek nearby relaxed me. We were home.
The end. I know awful way to end it but I have the sequel coming up so keep an eye out for it.
