Liminality
By SMYGO4EVA

For what had seemed like millennia when the planet of Cybertron was destroyed, yet still existing in the threshold of the final frontier, there are still words of deeds undone. The citizens there had nothing left to learn, while they had never seen the suns rise from the other planets. As far as the ones who survived the war knew, there was no sun left there, not anymore.

If Cybertron's survival was fully realized, if the council had heard of their alliance with Earth, the Autobots might have been deemed traitors to their race, aligning with the humans who didn't understand who and what they were, nor would they ever see what they would have become. To their planet, they were nothing but loyal.

Everything the Autobots and their leader Optimus Prime have ever done was done for dedication and love of their world, not to destroy it. The new regime of the Decepticons, led by one whom Optimus once called his brother, was going to destroy the beloved world, obliterate thousands of years' worth of culture and knowledge just to seize Energon and taint it for all time.

They had to protect Earth, their new home, from the Decepticons, especially from their leader Megatron. Even as the council would tell them that they would have to repent for what they have done, let Optimus pay the greatest punishment, they wouldn't do it.

They were nothing but loyal.

Earth was more fragile than the other planets, so it was their duty to stand by and protect the humans, even if it meant exposing their existence and knowledge of Cybertron to them. They were motivated by loyalty to and love of their two worlds, of Cybertron and of the planet Earth.

The blue marble had existed for millenniums, possibly as long as their metallic planet was in full being amongst the stars. It was possible that the two worlds were not as different as they thought they were, with metal and earth a significant part of their new lives. The conscious ads unconsciousness between life and death, online and offline, became more alike than they would have realized. Their vision was now limited, as they now can never see rivers on the Moon, but they would still see the sunrise.

Between two worlds, their loyalty lies to both Earth and Cybertron now.

There was no backing out from it, and the liminality of an existence for beings such as themselves was always aligned. From here on, the Autobots were facing an uncertain future on an unfamiliar planet and a dying world.

(Sorry for the long delay – college has officially started for me and my schedule is busier than ever, but I will make time for more fics soon. This was my first fic on Transformers: Prime, so I apologize for any inconsistencies.)
