Astoria Greenglass-formerly Astoria Malfoy- smiled slightly as she stared across the dancefloor, tilting her head as she listened to the strands of mozart-or was that beethoven?- playing in the air. Not that she cared, because what she was witnessing hurt as much as it was good to see.
When Draco had asked for a divorce she hadn't seen it. She thought they'd gotten along well enough. They didn't argue like normal couples, nor had they spent alot of time together, but they had gotten along. Yet, watching him dance she finally understood what she'd missed, and yearned to have Draco look at her with the same fire snapping in grey eyes. They did make a lovely couple, so dark and so pale...a perfect contrast. A perfect yin yang.
Between the two there was fire burning there, a passion so deep it was like they'd never hated. And yet, it took passion to hate that violently...and sometimes the greatest passions came out of the greatest hates. She just hoped Draco didn't find himself in a Romeo and Juliet moment.
Watching them, because well, the whole dance floor had cleared to watch the two, was like watching something intimate, something to personal to be seen. And in those moments of watching emerald fire meeting smokey grey, she gave up everything. Because she knew her former husband had never looked like that, had never held her like he couldn't get close enough.
And she saw then, what she'd missed all along.
