Chapter 23: Separation

Chinatsu was completely surprised at the turn of events.

Where she had been complaining about the heat, having her hand molested by some gigantic sunglasses wearing rapper, and snarling at the sight of the hideous pink sweater Genma had purchased for her, Chinatsu was now in an area where people were screaming and buildings were exploding.

It was all too familiar to that day with the caravan.

Quickly, Chinatsu attempted to run for cover at a nearby shop.

Her hand was grabbed at roughly and she was yanked into the middle of the circle of men. She was cradled in the middle while the men quickly reacted to the change of events. Wooden trucks burst from the ground and caught a nearby Oto nin in the stomach, sending the man reeling to the sky. Dogs were summoned and ordered to evacuate the villagers while copies of Ebisu were sent all around for further information.

Akane's hands went into a flurry of motions.

"Well, well, well, isn't it the fucking Wise—oomph!" An Akatsuki member who appeared before them was sent through a couple buildings by Akane's famous ice tigers. A suspicious looking scythe fell to the ground.

"What's the plan?" Akane asked, her katana held before her in offense and defense.

Raidou cursed. He looked around, quickly throwing a kunai to the nearest Otogakure nin. Before he could even tell the others to run for the Hokage's tower, a rumbling sensation (though light) was felt through his feet. "Jump on the buildings!"

Chinatsu (who literally had no idea what the hell was going on) was heaved over Kakashi's shoulder and went flying through the air. She squealed and grabbed his green flak jacket for hold, opening her eyes to see a titanic purple snake erupt from where they were standing.

The snake hissed and bared its sharp fangs at the Konohagakure nins.

And in his mouth was Orochimaru.

The snake man smiled eerily, his yellow eyes piercing into Chinatsu's soul.

A hand fell over Chinatsu's eyes and she didn't bother opening them after it was gone.

Orochimaru laughed lowly, giggling at the image of the Wise Woman before him. Of course he had known the Wise Woman was suspicious of his actions back in the days, but to see that his product of a time travel jutsu (though he didn't use it) worked, pleased him immensely. The snake man had to give it to Madara. He really knew what he was doing.

"So," he started. "Are we going to fight or are you going to hand her to me?"

Akane sneered, holding up her katana to have it pointing to the S-Class nin. "Orochimaru, you have listed yourself as a dead man the moment I learned of the depths of your depravity. Consider yourself dead and sent to hell within the next few minutes."

"Few minutes?" he questioned, throwing his head back and laughing. "Oh, my dear, that won't happen. Because I'm not really here." And with that he disappeared in a cloud of smoke.

Confused, the nins turned their heads, keeping the snake summon in sight.

"Behind us!" Akane yelled, swinging around.

"I'm right here," a voice so familiar to Kakashi whispered dreadfully.

Before Kakashi could even catch a glimpse of the inevitable, Sasuke (whose body had been taken over) blew a cloud of fire towards the circled nins. Each one darted into different directions. As Kakashi flew back, holding Chinatsu to him, he watched Sasuke's demented expression smile viciously as disaster struck all around.

There was a pang to his heart as the inevitable had happened.

Uchiha Sasuke had been taken over – without the death of his brother.

Forcing himself to adjust to the situation, Kakashi crouched low. He slid Chinatsu from his shoulder and onto the roof top of the buildings. "Stay here," he commanded, jumping off towards battle.

Chinatsu crawled quickly to the edge of the building, hiding behind the corners of the walls as she peeked over it. Her brown eyes were wide and trained on the individuals darting through the sky like flies. Of course Chinatsu had witnessed battles more than once, but it didn't remove her awe from it. She quickly grabbed a kunai attached to her thigh (for emergency usage, as Genma stressed) and held it to her chest, trembling as the ground rumbled with anger and retribution.

Like an earthworm, Manda flew through the sky and dove into the ground, traveling underneath and spearing upwards to the unsuspecting nins. Quickly, he slithered back to his master (who was wearing the Uchiha skin) and aimed for the men meant to attack him.

Orochimaru grinned and held out both hands. "It is done! I am complete!" he roared with hysterical laughter.

But it was cut off by the appearance of Uchiha Itachi.

His black and red robes fluttered in the wind; and with a small push, his straw hat gently slipped from his head. Ever so slowly, his face was shown, revealing swirling red eyes and dark shadows. The lines etched on his face seemed to have deepened more at the sight of his demented-looking brother of his. "Orochimaru," he quietly greeted.

"Itachi-kun," Orochimaru said, a grin growing on his face. "If only you'd have been my experiment would I have been perfect. But I can settle for this, I suppose. That is, for the moment." Pale hands came together in a rapid succession of handseals. "You shall be mine soon, Itachi-kun!"

Orochimaru placed his hands together and a glowing ball of energy started forming. Within less than five seconds the ball of energy flew from his hands with a high-pitch screech.

Itachi dodged the attack, ignoring it when explosion rocketed behind him.

With his sharingan swirling aggressively, Itachi soared into action.

Chinatsu cursed, ducking when a nearby explosion forced the building to groan. She scrambled into the corner, pressing her whole body against the wall when half of the building started falling apart. "Fuck! Fucking shit!" she cursed, getting to her feet and looking around in desperation.

She was literally a handicap in this situation.

Just as she had no choice but to jump off the building, Chinatsu was plucked up.

Kisame who had literally been standing behind the woman for the past minute was still amazed with her obliviousness of the world. Hell, even a random villager would sense danger. But not this one. He had stared down at the very familiar woman who was crouched down staring at the destruction up ahead. As soon as the building started deteriorating, Kisame picked her up by the back of her shirt, ignoring her yelp and turned her to face him. The addition of claw marks on her face was different.

What he didn't expect was for the woman to start clawing at his body.

"Goddammit!"

Chinatsu started hugging the random stranger who had picked her up. She shrieked like a banshee from hell, clawing at him so that she wouldn't fall down along with the building. "Hurry up and fly, goddammit! Fly!" she screamed hoarsely.

But they didn't fly.

Instead, they went pitching for the ground.

Kisame felt the wind whoosh out of him as he fell off the five story building. He bellowed curses, damning the woman into five different hells of completely different religions. Clutching his side due to his broken ribs, Kisame staggered up and snarled ferociously at the woman who was bawling over a scratch on her knee. "Stupid bitch!"

Chinatsu quickly rolled off to the side before the blue shark man had a chance to grab her hair. "Stop!" she yelled out lamely in Japanese as she got up, limping. Her mouth dropped when the man pulled out a titanic sword which was strapped to his back.

When the tip of Samehada fell to the ground, Chinatsu yelped as the ground dented underneath the weight of it.

"Holy shit."

"Prepare yourself," Kisame snarled and held out his weapon.

Chinatsu turned heel and ran.

"Come back here!"

Chinatsu dodged into a small alley. She didn't realize she had ditched her kunai, at all. Her last means of protection went flying to the ground as she darted through the small obstacle course. Chinatsu jumped over some fallen objects, throwing her arms up to protect herself from the falling debris. She didn't dare look over her shoulder in case the blue man was still chasing her.

As soon as she broke into the open space, Chinatsu made a quick decision to turn left.

Despite herself running as fast as she could, she felt as if she was moving through jello. No matter how she moved her body to run, she was still being dragged.

Chinatsu screamed when the edge of the Samehada came deathly close to her. She started zigzagging through the street, hoping to lose the guy. But she couldn't. He was a stubborn asshole. "Goddammit!" she cursed, kicking up her legs to try and pick up speed.

An Otogakure nin popped out from the side, about to continue running until he noticed Chinatsu. "Oi!" he yelled, turning towards her as she was running straight for him. He smiled with glee as there was no doubt Orochimaru-sama would praise him for his capture.

That was his last thought as the butt of the Samehada slammed into the stomach.

Chinatsu screeched as she saw the black-drabbed man fly into a random building. The building groaned and it started collapsing. She yelped and quickly turned the other way, avoiding the mess and trying to find help. "Akane! Ga-ga-ji!" she screamed desperately.

Holy crud, now there were tons of black-drabbed people heading her way.

Kisame growled, grinding his razor blade teeth in aggitation as he fought to keep the Oto-nins away from his capture. The damn nins were coming out of nowhere! Kisame sucked in an air of pure agony into his lungs when someone kicked him in his ribs. He growled and twisted the handle of his Samehada, and instantly the bandages ripped off. It seems like it had absorbed a lot of chakra already.

"Not even your sword will scare us off!" an Oto-nin cried out.

Kisame sneered, raising his sword and started to slash at them. Some nins who were foolish enough to stay and fight with one of the greatest Seven Swordsman from the Mist Village were already regretting their decision. Others threw themselves at the Akatsuki member, hoping that their number would make him fall.

An Oto-nin was hit in the stomach, the teeth of Samehada was shredding his skin. The floor of the area was already pooled with blood. He was thrown off to the side, gasping as he held his ragged stomach.

Kisame cursed. This was too much. No matter how many of these assholes he was hacking it was neverending. On top of that, the woman was already pretty far from him due to these nins. He strapped his Samehada to his back, jumped away from the huge crowd that surrounded him and threw his hands together. He yelled, "Suiton: Daikodan no Jutsu!"

A titanic shark manifested behind Kisame, water gathering into it to create it bigger. The water shark roared and flew at the crowd of Oto-nins. It was too late. The water shark hit the men, dragging them away from Kisame and down the street of Konohagakure.

He sneered. They were somebody else's business now.

Kisame turned around, his beady eyes searching the street for the woman. He frowned, waiting for his Samehada to pick up on her specific and unique chakra signature. A slight pull to the left grabbed his attention. Holding his ribs, he started running towards that direction.

It was amazing how she hadn't gone so far.

As soon as he turned a corner, he saw her running.

Kisame's ears pricked at the sound of someone running along the building. He glanced up to see Hidan up there, running alongside of him. "Get your ass down here and help me!"

Hidan smirked. "The great asshole Hoshigaki Kisame is unable to capture a small fucking girl? And you're asking for my help? Well, well, well," Hidan chuckled, dropping from the sky and onto the ground. "Either I'm fucking hungover from yesterday or I'm dreaming."

"Shut up," Kisame hissed. "She's harder to capture than she looks. Just take the right side and I'll approach her left. Herd her into the wall of that academy."

Chinatsu was quickly tiring. Her body was sluggish and heavy; it weighed like lead and was imploring her for a moment's rest. She had no time to stop and allow herself to replenish her tiring body. Dear Gods, she wish she could if she wasn't in a life and death situation! She gasped when she realized someone was at her left...and he wasn't blue.

Fuck, she thought. There was another black clock wearing man. And he didn't exactly look friendly.

Glancing down at her right hand for a moment, Chinatsu clenched it and continued running.

How the hell can she summon the demons?

"Kitty, I choose you!"

"Come out!"

"You have been released!"

"I have chicken and rice!"

None of it worked. Her blue feline hadn't been summoned and she was running out of breathe. Chinatsu slowed down. Sweat was pouring down her face, soaking into her clothes. The dust from the ground rose and stuck to her body like glue. The sun bearing down on the world didn't exactly help as well.

Slowly, Chinatsu came to a stop. She placed her hand on the wall of Iruka-sensei's classroom and looked at the two men.

They were leering at her, and it wasn't friendly.

Taking another glance at her hand, Chinatsu suddenly remembered what Kakashi had done to summon them to this hellhole of a place. He had bitten his finger and slammed his hand on the scroll. Chinatsu didn't have a scroll, but perhaps the ground would work.

Glaring at them, she brought her hand to her mouth.

"Awwww, are you mad? Don't worry, bitch, we'll take good care of you." Hidan stepped towards her when suddenly the unexpected happened.

"Come out right now, Kitty! I need your help!" Chinatsu yelled desperately. She nipped the side of her thumb and slammed her hand on the ground.

"Shit! She's summoning a demon!" Kisame cursed, jumping back and holding his Samehada before him.

There was a moment of silence.

"Really, Kisame? You're scared of this?" Hidan threw his head back and howled in laughter. "You're a fucking pansy, dickwad! She's fucking harmless! I'll take care of this since you're that much of a pussy." He tucked away his scythe and walked towards the still kneeling woman.

Chinatsu looked up and saw the men laughing at her. "No..." she said mournfully. Perhaps they were wrong. Perhaps she couldn't summon demons.

"It wasn't exactly right, but I shall take that call."

Matatabi wasn't presented in his usual household cat form. Instead, he was a giant looming all over Konohagakure. Same stature and size as Manda, Matatabi was titanic and just as dangerous. His sophisticated mismatched eyes glared at the two Akatsuki members with malice. "So, you're trying to cause harm to my mistress."

Hidan sneered. "Shut it, you pussy cat, and let's fight!"

Kisame growled at Hidan's mannerisms. "Of course, you would throw insults at a demon," he snarled, holding up his Samehada even though the weight of it killed his broken ribs. "There's no learning for you, Hidan."

The slicked white-haired Akatsuki member grinned maliciously. "There's nothing more exciting than challenging a demon. Jashin, I pray to you to keep my corrupted soul in its peak," Hidan whispered, giving a slight kiss to his necklace while sneering at Matatabi.

Chinatsu ran towards her tailed demon. She glomped it's gigantic blue furred arm and tried to burrow herself within it.

"No, Chinatsu," Matatabi said, gently nudging her away. "Run. Go find help. Go find Kakashi."

"Ga-ga-ji?" Chinatsu said.

"Yes."

Before Matatai even had a chance to usher her in the right direction, Hidan attacked. The bijuu hissed menacingly and swiped his paw at the annoying cursing machine. Quickly, his tail swung, hitting Chinatsu in the stomach and sending her flying into a completely different direction.

"Shit!" Kisame cursed, taking a step to go chase down his assignment, when the demon hissed.

"None of that now," Matatabi purred, his fur rising to the tension of the battle. "Keep your eyes on me."

Chinatsu screamed like a banshee escaping from the pits of hell. She closed her eyes, already feeling a dizzy spell hit her as the colors of beige, green, and black swept past her. Chinatsu felt the wind escape from her lungs as she hit a nearby tree and dropped to an unceremonious heap. She gasped like a fish out of water, clenching her fist as she fought for stability.

The sound of destruction and chaos were weak and far away. The area around her seemed like it hadn't been touched with death and danger.

Slowly, Chinatsu, turned onto her back, breathing heavily and she blinked quickly. She darted her eyes here and there, watching for any sign of movement.

So far, there were none.

Groaning, Chinatsu leaned up. "Man, what the hell, Kitty," she said, grabbing her tender side. There was no doubt there was going to be a bruise blossoming there any time too soon. She looked from side to side warily, picking herself up off the ground.

Man, what the hell was she supposed to do? If she even dared go back to the fray, there was no doubt she would either end up captured or dead. There was definitely a fat chance that she wouldn't find anyone familiar without bumping into an enemy or two.

"Shit," she cursed, holding onto the tree for support. Chinatsu looked behind her. The forest she was chucked into didn't seem familiar. It seemed like she'll just have to suffice with finding a safe place for the night.

Limping, Chinatsu started walking towards a random direction away from the fray. She flinched every so often when an explosion rocked the earth. She prayed that Akane would find her with her magical voodoo powers. She hoped that anyone familiar would find her at all. And as much as Chinatsu would like to go find her, she knew she would do no good getting in the way.

Chinatsu didn't notice the slight flicker in the air.

It had taken the woman close to two hours to finally find a place that appeased her. Chinatsu approached the animal den, peering inside and outside to see if it was still occupied or abandoned. Darkness was quickly approaching, so Chinatus had the decision to claim it for her own. Grimacing, the woman went feet first, scooting inside and cringing at the feel of dirt and roots rubbing against her naked skin. When she saw a centipede crawling across her arm, she squawked and killed it immediately.

Internally, she was going crazy. Oh, yeah, go ahead and climb into this hole you see beneath a tree. Yeah, nobody is gonna spot you, girl. You totally got this.

She was officially going crazy.

Chinatsu stayed there, shivering in her small den as night crawled. The air turned chilly, and yet the fight was not over. Every so often, her little den would vibrate from the fight, and every time it did so, she would freeze like an animal. Why the hell was this world so violent?

She missed her old home. She missed the peacefulness of her world. There was never a doubt that she didn't miss her mother as well.

Chinatsu sniffled, bringing herself in tighter as a chilly wind flowed through her little den. She wondered if everyone was okay. She prayed to the high heavens that Akane was okay. Especially when she had just found out her sister was in this wacky world as well. There was finally a sense of home in this world. It had definitely been nice to be with Yamato and under his care, but just the fact that Akane was here made her feel more relaxed.

Not only that, but also the purpose of her existence.

She held up her hand to her face, the moonlight hitting her hand and the silvery scars on each finger. Those weren't just scars, though. They were blood contracts with the demons of this world. Chinatsu frowned, clenching her fist. Were there many demons? Would they be biting her hands, arms, body just to connect themselves with her? She shivered at the thought of it. She doesn't like the idea of being a demon's chew toy.

Chinatsu frowned, shivering. Perhaps that's why this village had not liked her very much. Demons were probably not a good thing here. Especially if Chinatsu was thrown in prison and nearly starved to death because of her odd appearance.

She sighed, shaking her head. Nothing will ever erase the memories of her mind in those prison cells. There were men screaming, woman screeching and madmen cackling psychotically. With the loneliness and starvation, there was a thought that she was never going to leave that place. Auditory and visual hallucinations had set in at one point, but it didn't stay long, thank the heavens above. Though this village had given her hell, the people had helped replenish her mind and soul.

They were nice and caring. Hopefully it wasn't a trick. Those words of Akane were still echoing through her mind. Chinatsu hoped that she could successfully discuss everything about herself and this world. She needed to know everything.

The scratches on her face burned. Chinatsu hissed and placed a hand over it. Damn, this shit hurts!

"Let me heal that."

A banshee-like shriek ripped from her mouth. She smacked away the hand that was caressing her cheek and pushed herself further into the den.

The hand returned and grabbed her by her wrist and gently pulled her out.

Chinatsu yelped, feeling helpless as her body was dragged out. She looked up at her captor and gasped.

It was the red-eyed man.

Madara smiled at the wide-eyed woman, bringing up his glowing green hand to her face to heal those jagged marks. There will be no such mar on his summon. As soon as those harsh red lines healed, the curve of his lips lifted. It was time to take her. Just from word telling him that she was able to attract all the bijuus, it made everything easier for the beginning of an end. It was a mistake that he, a perfectionist, hadn't taken her in the beginning. Now word of her skills were spreading through the world like wildfire. It would be unfortunate if someone were to take her or kill her.

Despite her Senju blood, she was dire to his tsuki no me keikaku. It was the only way to achieve world peace. "Let us go," he said, gently grabbing her and tugging her towards him.

Chinatsu whined and tried to pull away from him. "I don't know you! Leave me alone!" she cried. Despite his eerily calm ways of gently talking to her and healing her wounds, it didn't escape her how creepy his actions were. Not only was that the case, but the alarm bells within her were ringing.

This guy was not nice.

"Please! Stop!" Chinatsu pulled and tugged at the hand that was holding her as he dragged her towards another direction.

"Enough of this," he snapped. His patience was already at an end. His grip on her wrist tighten and he watched mercilessly as she was brought to her knees from the pain. "There will be no crying or any of your screaming, woman. We will leave now." Madara yanked her to her feet.

Then there was a slice in the air.

He gathered her in his arms quickly and jumped back. Madara's eyes narrowed as there were a barricade of kunais and shurikens embedded on the ground he had been standing. He turned to see Hatake Kakashi there. "You," he said. "I advise you to leave."

Kakashi didn't answer. With his Konoha headband pulled up and both eyes keenly trained on Madara, he glanced down at Chinatsu whose face was cringing from pain. He brought up his bloodied hand to his chest, wiping off the dirt from his jounin vest. "Hand over Chinatsu."

At her name, she raised her head. Chinatsu's eyes widened at the sight of Kakashi. Just like when their group had been invaded the past week, Kakashi was there to save her. She was still grimacing from the pain of Madara clenching her wrist tightly. "Ga-ga-ji," she said, smiling a bit.

Madara tightened his hold on her. "She belongs to me. If you wish to live, I advise you to leave."

Kakashi sighed. "I suppose we'll have to do this the hard way."

Though it had been literally hell combing through the village looking for Chinatsu and fighting with people for hours, it was dire that Kakashi made it out alive from this fight. He was exhausted, but if Madara left with Chinatsu, there was no knowing in what will happen next. He just prayed that he can finish this quickly before his chakra depletes.

He removed a scroll from his vest quickly, used his bloodied hand to mark the scroll before summoning his dogs. "Kuchiyose: Doton: Tsuiga no Jutsu!"

It was by a miracle it worked.

Madara hissed in pain as dogs erupted from the very ground he stood on and latched their jaws onto him. He was forced to release Chinatsu and watch as she ran towards the Copy Cat nin. He sneered, glaring at Kakashi. "Do you believe this will work?"

"Yes," Kakashi replied, pulling out yet another scroll.

Within a second, Kakashi grabbed Chinatsu, opened the scroll and disappeared with a poof.

The summoning dogs disappeared as well, leaving Madara standing there was an enraged expression upon his psychotic face. "Hatake Kakashi, you will die."

I'VE FINALLY UPDATED IT OMG. YOU GUYS HAVE NO IDEA HOW HARD IT WAS. :C

I still need to definitely update my fictionpress account. I literally have not updated a story from there for quite a while. LOL.

It was seriously really hard to continue writing this. If anyone knows, if you leave a story untouched for a long time, its hell restarting it. I had to reread all the chapters, try to get back into touch with my OC and Naruto characters, and figure out where the hell I was originally planning with the chapter/story. In the end, I couldn't figure it out and I've decided to go for another route. IF YOU GUYS FEEL LIKE I'M MISSING SOMETHING OR I COULD USE SOME INFORMATION, GO AHEAD AND TELL ME .I COULD USE IT LOL.

I'm glad there are people still reviewing this story! It makes me super duper uber happy! : )

I know there are some comments/criticisms about my story, let me finally regard them:

Torture and Interrogation: I actually have had a few complaints about it. Either that she went through a lot and ended up being some giggly marysue chick or that she went through too much and it wasn't fair and stuff. So, I did reread it and I couldn't help but cringe at some parts. Jeez, it does seem like Stockholm Syndrome, as someone had mentioned LOL. And it does seem like she's probably being brainwashed…and that's not good xD I'm probably going to be editing the first few chapters because of this. It is literally bothering me. And that only means that it'll be a while…another long while before another chapter is released. I need to fix my chapters :p

Chinatsu is too childish.Well, I kind of like it that way. I mean, I want a little humor in my story, sue me LOL. God knows I'm in my 20s, and I pretty much act somewhat similar. Not only that, but I want her character to develop in later chapters. I want her to start out from point A (with her personality) and develop into point B. It'll take time. This story is not going to be over anytime too soon LOL.

Kakashi is too cold. I want their relationship to develop, WHICH IS GOING TO START WITH THE NEXT CHAPTER :D. Kakashi does have relationship issues. He does have his Team Seven, but I mean if he wants to connect with someone romantically, I'm sure it'll take a hell of a lot to break down that wall LOL. Well, again, this is in my POV. :x

Typos/Errors: Yeah, I know. I'm not perfect. I'm trying to improve though D:

Chinatsu has Stockholm Syndrome: Dammit, I really need to fix my chapters LOL.

Chinatsu is immature: Okay, I got it. I'll try and work on that. She is in her early 20s, but c'mon, do people really mature in their early 20s? LOL. #imrllyimmatureogawdwhy

Chinatsu is too childish. C'mon, she's a med student: I GOT IT. That's true. I'll fix that out or something.

Chinatsu should know Japanese: I believe I did explain it in a previous chapter about why she doesn't know Japanese while her younger sister can fluently speak the language. You can refer to chapter 21.

So basically, I'm going to be re-editing the first couple chapters. I should edit the T&I to make it work, and if it still doesn't please people…well, I tried :D I'm also going to be trying to tweak Chinatsu's personality and her lifestyle a bit pre-Naruto world. Yeah, she does seem a bit childish, but I kinda liked it cause in my POV, I love the humor and I felt like the story needed a balance between that and drama. Because of this, it'll take a while for the next chapter to be released. But hopefully, it'll be all worth it x_x'

Keep the critics coming! I don't mind them at all : )

THANKS FOR ALL THE REVIEWS! I only had enough time to write this long author's note out, that I don't have time to thank everyone individually for their reviews! I shall be doing that in the next chapter! : )
