A/N: I have been the worst updater to this story and I am very sorry for that. I just read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and I was inspired again. Have you all read it yet? I will update on myself, I have been in school hence why hardly any updates. However with me not wanting this fic to go on much longer, I will try to finish this story within the year. Here's hoping. This is a promise I will do for my viewers. Again I am very sorry to those who have been with me since the beginning.

With their new promise together Draco and Hermione flooed one after the other to the meeting of the Order. When she came out on the other side, Draco was standing there holding his hand out for her. She smiled slightly and rubbed the soot off his face. They walked into the meeting room together and sat down side by side. Harry and Ron gave them a sideways glance and Hermione nodded. Sure they had slowly come to terms that Draco and Hermione liked each other, but they have yet to talk about it. She was sure a discussion was going to be coming in the near future.
Just as that thought came into her head, it was pushed out as Professor McGonagall and the other senior members of the Order came in. Hermione noticed that Arthur and Molly Weasley were not in attendance.
"Hello, I asked you all here in light of recent events. Due to the events we have the reason to believe that this new dark wizard is targeting the parents of our order members. We're not sure how they know who they are, but everyone attacked has been linked to the Order."
Ron sat up. "Where are my parents? Are they okay?"
"Calm down Mr. Weasley, you're parents are more than fine. Which is why I have asked you all here. I have a mission for two of our junior members. Arthur and Molly have gone into hiding, and I want to have two members keep a watch on them. We've made the mistake a long time ago, when we sent people into hiding, and we will not make that mistake again." Professor McGonagall replied.
The members started to look around and Hermione knew what was coming. "I'll go Professor, I have nothing to lose." Harry said raising his hand. Ron raised his as well. "They're my parents I should go too."
Hermione looked to Draco and he shook his head. He knew what she was about to say. "I don't think that having the most famous wizard, and the son of the family who this new dark wizard is targeting, is the best choice for this mission."
"I agree Miss Granger."
"But they're my parents, I can't just leave them out there on their own. I want to protect them."
"Which is why, Hermione and I will do it." Malfoy spoke up. Which unfortunately led to an uproar of people's protest. Many of them being about how we can't trust a Malfoy with such a big mission.
McGonagall tried to keep the peace and tried to get all of their attention, but it was for nothing.
Hermione pulled her wand out cast a harmful, but loud spell, which got everyone's attention. She stood now fuming. She had seen the effect of the Order's words on Draco's face and she didn't want to hear it anymore.
"I'm sorry, but did we not accept Draco as a full fledged member? Wasn't he supposed to help us learn information and defeat this new dark wizard? Hasn't he done his job amicably? You all trust me do you not?"
Members nodded to that and she set her mouth in a definitive line. "Then trust me and let me go on this mission with him. We will keep your family safe Ron, I promise."
Draco stared up at his girlfriend clearly touched and when he knew what she had said had the effect she wanted, he pulled on the sleeve of her coat, and she sat down.

A few hours after her speech Hermione and Draco were standing away from the rest of the Order talking about what was to come for them. They would be going to a little town somewhere outside of London that had no wizards around. Arthur and Molly had been there since last night, and they were there to keep an eye out for them.
Ron and Harry made their way over to them, although Ron looked a little reluctant. "Hey, when do you guys leave?" Harry asked when they approached.
"Couple of hours, we have to sign some paperwork with McGonagall for school first." Draco replied.
"Be safe guys. Owl us about everything." Harry said putting his hand on Draco and Hermione's shoulder. Hermione smiled and nodded.
Ron had been quiet but nodded at that. "I'm trusting you Hermione...and you Malfoy. Keep my parents safe, please." Draco nodded and held his hand out for Ron to shake. "I promise no harm to your parents." Ron hesitated and finally put his hand out to shake.

"Well this isn't so bad." Draco said as he flopped down on the bed in their hotel room. They had just arrived after a long night of getting briefed on the mission and saying their goodbyes. To say the least Malfoy was actually happy to be away from everything and to be with Hermione alone, with nothing but a mission for them to focus on.
"Draco this isn't a vacation." Hermione smiled a little rolling her eyes. She had noticed that he was a little too happy since they had boarded the train to the little town they were now in.
"I am well aware of that my dear Mione." He replied turning to watch her starting to unpack. "Oh can't you do that later, relax a little, we've been travelling all night. Aren't you tired?"
She laughed and nodded. "Of course I am, but the sooner we pack, the sooner we can sleep a little. Besides we should probably sleep in shifts, so that we can always keep an eye out for the Weasleys."
"Were you this serious when you were on the run with Potter, and Weasley also?"
"Draco haven't you noticed by now, I'm always this serious? You should be a little more serious as well. There are lives at stake Draco, I can't let Ron lose his parents, not like I lost mine. They mean everything to him."
Draco didn't reply and Hermione thought she may have upset him in some way, until she felt arms encircle her and a head rest on her shoulder. "You're right, I'm sorry. I am taking this seriously. I just was trying to lighten the mood. I know this is important to you. Which is why I volunteered. We promised to do everything together, I intend to keep that promise my Mione." He said quietly, and she turned in his arms.
They stayed there for a brief moment before she pulled away from him. "I'm sorry, I'm just tired. I didn't mean bad by that."
"I know love, which is why you should take the first shift. I can unpack and keep watch." He said kissing her forehead and leading her back to the bed. "I'm fine Draco." She said lightly protesting, but she could help herself melting into the bed when he pushed her lightly down on the mattress. "I know, get some sleep love. I'll be here when you wake up." He said pulling the blankets up to her shoulders and kissing her cheek. She was out before he even stood up.
!*!
A few weeks have passed since the two have been on the mission, with little to know contact from the outside. Both Hermione and Draco kept their eyes on everything. Stuff out of the ordinary was little and they took their job seriously. They fell into a routine, and Hermione was starting to get a glimpse into what her life would be like if she were to have a future with Draco. Which was a thought that kept popping into her head every now and again.
The two sat in a pub just outside their hotel room. They had information that a couple of wizards had been showing up. They had been there for a while now, with no sign of anyone they didn't know. They had grown accustomed to the normal folk they saw around town, they were actually on first name basis with a few of them. Including the owner of the pub they were at.
"Hermione, Draco, it's nice to see you today."
"Jared. Anything new?" Draco asked as he was given a beer by the owner. Jared nodded toward a suspicious looking couple in the dark corner of the pub. Hermione stealthily took a glance over her shoulder and saw the couple sitting talking in a hushed whisper.
It certainly didn't look like anyone they had ever encountered. They looked to be in their twenties. The girl looked rough, she had a large scar over her right eye and a nasty glint in her eyes. The man didn't look much for the better. He wore glasses and had a black glove over his right hand.
Hermione turned back around and smiled at Jared. "Thank you for keeping us updated." She said and paid for the beers along with a small tip for the information. She turned to Draco and raised her eyebrows. Draco nodded and they moved to a table to get a better look.
When the couple up and left Draco and Hermione followed at a far enough distance that they wouldn't be caught. They watched them go into a house and looked around to make sure that they would be able to keep an eye on the house from their hotel. Once known that they would have eyesight to the house they returned to their room.
"Things just got slightly more real didn't they?" Draco said walking into their room, after placing the silencing charm and protection charm on their room.
"Yes I'm sending a message to McGonagall now."
Draco nodded and stood at the window looking at the house the couple had gone into. "We should be more cautious now Mione." He said quietly as he leaned up against the window sill with his arms crossed. "Yeah we should."
!*!
True to their word Draco and Hermione took to treading more lightly. When they did leave their room it was to take a walk around town, to get provisions, to make sure that the Weasley's charms to hide them were still up, and to check up on the couple.
After the message had been sent, Draco and Hermione noticed more wizards around, and Hermione reckoned that they were aurors close to the order.
Hermione and Draco kept their distance and one evening Hermione was woken up by Draco in a frantic manner. "Mione get up! You need to see this"
Hermione threw the covers off and ran to the window. The house the couple had been in was up in flames, and you could see the spells flying from people on the streets. "Draco we need to go down there." She said turning to exit the room, but was stopped by a hand on her wrist. "No, let them deal with it. They will be fine, Hermione, we've done our job. We're to stay undercover. Let's go to sleep knowing that."
"We should still keep our shifts. Just incase."
Draco rolled his eyes. "Hermione please I'm tired of being in the same room with you and not being able to relax. In anyway. I've kept my cool for a while now, but Hermione I love you, and we've done our job, let us celebrate the small victories. Please just lay down with me."
Hermione smiled a little and nodded. "You really don't think they need our help?"
"If they did they would let us know."
"You're right. They would. I'm tired also Draco." She said relaxing and Draco pulled her to the bed. He laid down and pulled her into his arms. He held her close and sighed. "This is better."
"Yes it is. Thank you for doing this with me Draco, I feel less afraid with you here."
"We made a promise Hermione. Together." He said and looked down to her, he did not notice the movement of her head looking up to him.
"I love you."
"And I you." He said as she leaned up to his lips.
The kiss meant more than any other kiss he had ever had. The melding of two people in love was better than any fling Draco ever had. They celebrated being together, and they celebrated their small victory. The two alone in the room felt a connection that night that would bond them forever, despite neither of them realising it.
!*!
"Lord, they know we know. The aurors took the Noors in for questioning."
The windows around the two blew out at the man's scream.
When he calmed down he turned to the other. "Get them ready, and make sure the Noors don't talk."
A/N: There we have it. I hope that you all don't hate me too much for taking so long with this chapter. Let me know how you feel. :)
