Chapter 9
Hermione woke up slowly, sun streaming in from the windows onto her bed. The amount of light signaled that Hermione had slept in, breakfast would almost be over if she didn't get out of bed soon. The rest of the dorm was already up and gone, but she couldn't bring herself to get out of bed just yet.
The memories of the previous night filled her head again as she replayed the events. It almost seemed like a dream, but it wasn't, it was all real. All of the memories were as clear as when they happened. She could still feel Malfoy's lips on her's, feel his hands running through her hair, feel his skin on hers. She wondered what would have happened if they hadn't been interrupted. But she knew that she wouldn't have let it escalate too far, as much as she wanted to, she still didn't fully trust his intentions.
But she desperately wanted to trust him, but she knew something was off. Blaise's warning, Pansy's obsession, Malfoy's vagueness, they were all signs that were telling her that something was going on. Something that only she didn't know. However on the other side maybe Blaise and Pansy were just jealous of their new found relationship? Maybe they were just two people who had that issues? It was possible, but she wouldn't find out laying here in bed.
Hermione finally found the will power to get up out of bed and proceeded to get ready for the day. Deciding to put extra effort into her appearance today.
When she was done, Hermione made her way down through the portrait hole down to the great hall.
The tables were still filled to the brim with students, no doubt many of them having a slow morning themselves. Hermione scanned the great hall and found a set of eyes on her. Ron was starring right at her, his face turning into a scowl as he chewed his food unattractively. Lavender was sitting by his side looking particularly gloomy. Apparently they were still together. Figures. But for the first time, Hermione didn't care.
Her eyes shifted down toward the Slytherin table scanning the long table for Malfoy until she found him.
His eyes were already on hers.
Malfoy hadn't been able to sleep. Blaise's words and the previous nights events still searing in his mind. So he decided to go to the great hall early, he had been one of the first ones to enter. He was hoping that Hermione would be her usual early morning self, but it seemed that she had slept in. It was torture having to sit and endure Blaise's and Pansy's glares and scowls. Both of them huddled together whispering, no doubt about them.
He ignored them, knowing that they wouldn't directly confront him again so soon. A small part of him wondered if Pansy would go as far as to tell his parents about him and Hermione. He knew she hadn't yet because she was afraid of his father, and despite her vial personality, she did truly care for Malfoy. She didn't want him to get hurt.
Who he was worried about, was Granger.
His eyes went back to the main hall door for the millionth time, when he finally caught sight of Granger.
She was wearing a long sleeve white shirt and dark jeans that hugged her in all the right places. Her hair was smoothed out to large waves that fell slightly past her shoulder blades. Her mauve deep pink lips smooth and matte. Her dark brown hair contrasted against her light pale skin in a illuminating way.
She was perfect.
One side of her lips tugged up into a smile.
Hermione made her way over to him, feeling a million eyes on her as she did so. She passed Pansy and Blaise ignoring them, feeling their glares continue to pierce her back.
Malfoy was sitting by himself. Hermione made herself at home and sat down bedside him. The other Slytherins glaring at her for being so bold as to sit at there table. But they would never question it, because she was with the Slytherin Prince.
"Hey," She said simply, with a small smile.
He gave her a small smile, "Hey yourself."
It was a whole new feeling knowing that Malfoy truly had feelings for her. It made everything else disappear, it was if a different energy flowed through her veins when he was around. It made everything heightened.
It was addicting.
He scooted closer to her, so close that he was able to lean his forehead to hers.
"I couldn't stop thinking about you last night," He blurted out before he could reel himself back. He scolded himself pulling back instantly. He usually wasn't so vulnerable, and he hated the feeling.
But Hermione gently pulled his chin back towards her. Hermione felt his breath on hers, his musky cologne filled her lungs making her head fuzzy.
"I couldn't either," She said, daring to put her hands up into his his hair bringing his lips closer to hers, "I kept thinking of what would have happened if I didn't leave."
Malfoy couldn't believe the feeling of desire the flowed through his body as she said those words. And not just because of lust, because it was her saying them. He had never felt this way about anyone. It was just about as addicting as a drug.
"Please don't say that," He said raggedly, desperately wanting to kiss her. But he was afraid that if he started, he wouldn't be able to stop.
But Hermione was the one who gently lifted her chin, placing a soft chaste kiss on his soft plump lips. Molding into his so naturally he was sure that they were made just for him.
She pulled away from him only slightly, making sure to keep him close.
"I still can't believe I'm the only girl to touch that bed," She said quietly with a shy smile teasing, "I'm not sure if you are telling the truth about that."
He shook his head, "I promise I'm telling the truth, you can ask anyone in our dorm."
She looked up at him so sweetly he was sure he'd be driven mad by the end of the day, "But I've heard so many… stories."
He shook his head, "Rumor's are just that, rumor's."
Hermione's eyes furrowed, "Why would you let people believe that?"
He shrugged, "I don't care what people think really, plus I don't think anyone wanted to hear my side of the story."
Hermione looked down at her hands, "They were probably hurt."
Malfoy nodded, "I know… I'm kind-of a dick."
Hermione smiled, "That's a valid statement."
Malfoy looked at her hoping that she knew that she was nothing like those other girls. He wanted her, he wanted her and only her. He couldn't believe that power that she had on him already. It made him sick, almost angry. He didn't like feeling out of control.
Hermione knew that she was going against her better judgment. Every part of her brain was telling her to run. That this would all end badly. But she had never felt like this before. She had never woke up longing to see someone. She had never ached for someone like she did for him. It probably wasn't healthy, but she didn't want that passion to ever go away.
Hermione still felt a pair of eyes that wouldn't leave her. For only a split moment she looked to see who it was.
Blaise. She wasn't ready for the emotions that were written all over his face. She was so taken aback by the amount of hurt and anger that she saw in his eyes, it was almost enough to make Hermione feel sorry for kissing Malfoy in front of him. But he needed to see it. He needed to know how she felt about Malfoy.
And as soon as she had looked at him her eyes left back to Malfoy. Still feeling his eyes on her.
"You slept in," He said, "The one. day. you sleep in," He said shaking his head.
"You've been watching me huh?" She asked raising her eye brows.
He nodded unashamed, "You are a very structured person," He said with a crooked smile.
Hermione couldn't resist any longer as she kissed his lips again, this time, she planned her kiss more seductively. Placing her lips on his slowly and sweetly, molding her's into his. Malfoy welcomed the gesture eagerly, his hand slipping around her waist.
She couldn't stop the fire that was burning through every limb of her body. It was like a hunger that couldn't be satisfied unless he was touching her. Hermione let out a very subtle moan. As soon as Malfoy felt the vibrations through his mouth, the spark inside him instantly became a blazing fire as his want for her intensified. He couldn't help but pull her closer to him.
Malfoy's desire reached it's peak, he wanted her. Everything. He wanted her to moan louder. It was taking over his body like a title wave.
If he didn't stop now, he wouldn't ever.
He quickly pulled away.
Hermione instantly felt sheepish as her cheeks grew warm. Idiot.
She looked at his face trying to figure him out.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to go too-" Hermione began.
But Malfoy instantly silenced her, shaking his head, "You never need to apologize for that," He said, "To be honest with you I just don't think I could stop."
Hermione looked back at his lips with a longing, "What makes you think I would mind?" She teased.
He gave a defeated sigh, "What have I told you? You can't say things like that."
Hermione gave a sly smile, finding it very attractive that he had self control.
Malfoy looked away from her finding Pansy's eyes on him. Her eyes were full of hurt and anger, but she looked away when Malfoy made eye contact.
"You wanna get out of here?" He asked sick of all of the eyes, wanting to be alone with her, "I have an idea."
Hermione nodded, "Sure, where are we going?" She asked.
"What do you think of Quidditch Granger?" He asked turning back to her.
Hermione looked surprised by his sudden question, "I like watching… why?"
His face grew into grin.
XOXOXOXOXOX
Hermione starred at the broom Malfoy was handing her, "You can't be serious."
When Malfoy said he wanted to show her something, she wasn't exactly sure what to expect. Maybe a walk around the grounds? Perhaps around the lake? Maybe watch him fly? But she didn't expect him to actually want her to play it.
Malfoy rolled his eyes, "Come on Granger, live a little."
She shook her head, "That's exactly what I want to do, live."
Malfoy gave her a small smile bringing her hands closer to him, putting them on the broom stick, "I do recall you being able to fly a broom, we had our flying class together first year remember?"
Hermione nodded, "And did you see how long it took for me to get the broom to come 'up'?" She pointed out, "You said it once and it came right to you."
Malfoy smirked, "Well I never said that I wasn't amazing."
Now it was Hermione's turn to roll her eyes.
"I don't think so," She said shaking her head stepping away from him, her fear getting the best of her.
He gave a loud dramatic sigh, "Ok, that's fine. I won't make you…" Looking put out.
Hermione shook her head, ignoring he's annoyingly handsome face, "Don't try to make me feel bad it won't work."
He shook his head, "No I'm not trying to make you feel bad… I'm just wondering why people call your the smartest witch of our age," He scoffed shaking his head, "You can't even ride a broom," Mumbling under his breath coaxing her.
Hermione knew what he was doing, he was trying to get a rise out of her.
She wished that it wasn't working.
"Fine," She said snatching the broom away from him, knowing that she was going to regret this.
He instantly gave her a knowing smirk as he grabbed his own broom walking towards her, "Come on," He said grabbing her hand with his other.
She took it willingly as he lead her out to the middle of the field to large box. He opened it to reveal the Quidditch balls.
Hermione's head snapped to his, "Wait we aren't actually going to play Quidditch right?"
Malfoy picked up the Quaffle, "Why not?"
Hermione shrunk, "I don't know how."
"I'll teach you," He said, "Don't worry, we'll just play with the Quaffle. We are just chasers today."
He through the ball at her, Hermione caught it smoothly.
Malfoy was impressed, "And you said you couldn't play Quidditch?"
Hermione glared, "I never said I couldn't play, I just don't play. You forget my best friends were Harry and Ron-" She stopped mid sentence realizing what she just said.
For the first time, Hermione admitted to herself that her friendship with Ron and Harry were in the past tense. In that moment she realized that all of those memories were just that, memories. Memories that would be tainted with Ron's and Hermione's bad relationship. She was so sure that they would get back together that it didn't bother her. It would be just another part of their story.
But it wouldn't.
She tightened her grip on her wand, not daring to met Malfoy's eyes.
Malfoy picked up on her hesitation. Her face becoming guarded and pained. Malfoy instantly wanted to make her feel better. He didn't know why, but knowing that someone could hurt her like that made Malfoy hate Weasel more. He was growing protective of her.
"Anyway," She said trying to brush the feelings that were threatening to surface, "Come on," She said not wanting Malfoy to see her, "Let's go get your butt kicked," She said with a smirk, trying to hide what just happened.
But Malfoy stopped her from passing him as he gently grabbed her arm.
"We don't have to do this," He said, his eyes soft. He would have never suggested it if he knew it would make her upset.
Hermione was surprised by his sincereness, she could see it in his usual cold eyes.
"No, I want to," She said, touched that he cared, "Besides, I wouldn't miss the chance to knock you off your broom," She said, a small smile tugging at her lips.
Malfoy suddenly came close to her, making sure he was only inches away from her mouth, "Let's make a wager," He said with a smirk.
Hermione's eyes narrowed, "Like what?"
"If I win, you come back to the Slytherin dorms for the day," He said with a sly grin.
She raised her eye brows, "And do what?"
He shook his head, "That's for me to know."
Hermione didn't really see that as a loss, so she accepted, "Fine, but if I win you are coming with me to Hogsmade and you are going to buy me anything I want."
Malfoy raised his eyebrows, nodding in agreement, "Who knew Granger was so superficial."
She rolled her eyes, "You never know… I might just want you to buy me some lingerie."
Malfoy's face instantly paled as his heart skipped a beat. For a split second he imagined her in a Beautify Burks sheer gown. He gave a hard swallow.
Hermione burst out laughing from his serious expression, "I'm kidding, you wish."
Did he ever.
He knew it was too good to be true. He gave her a grin, so Granger did have a sense of humor. He swung his legs over his now hovering broom. Hermione followed suit mounting her broom.
They shot themselves up in the air as they made their way over to the three hoops gracefully.
Malfoy went to the hoops first, "Alright Granger, you get at least one Quaffle past me and you win. Three tries and that's it."
Nodded wishing that she was the one that was playing defense, but come to think of it, that would have probably been much more difficult.
So they began. Hermione flew around back around the field to get some speed. Coming at him head on. But that didn't work. The second time she tried angling it from above but Malfoy easily blocked that attempt to.
"I want you back in my dorm Granger," Malfoy said with a smirk, "You better make this one a good one."
Hermione looked down at the Quaffle. With grace she threw it up high in the air, with one fluid motion, she twirled her broom in a semi circle. The back end of the broom hitting the Quaffle as she did so.
It Quaffle whizzed right past his head through the tallest hoop.
He looked back at her with a quizzical look, "You little blood boil. You were holding back the whole time."
She flashed him a smile, followed by a small laugh, "I wish I could say that it was on purpose but to tell you the truth I think I just got lucky."
Malfoy dove towards her playfully as Hermione dodged him flying downwards back to the lockers.
They flew back to the ground putting away their brooms. Both of them nudging and pushing each other as they did so. They were just about ready to head back up when Hermione stopped him.
"Alright," He sighed as they started walking back toward the castle, but Malfoy steered toward the path to Hogsmade, "A deal's a deal."
However, Hermione took his hand and nudged her head back toward the castle, "Actually Malfoy, can you take me tomorrow? To tell you the truth I'm exhausted."
Malfoy's heart dropped, feeling like he just got punched in the stomach.
Truth be told Malfoy really didn't know that much about Hermione. But he wanted to, he wanted to know all of the little things that mad her tic. And to do that, he wanted to spend as much time with her as possible. But he didn't want to look desperate.
He nodded making sure that his face remained emotionless.
"Sure," He with a nod, "I'll walk you back to your dorm."
Hermione's cheeks grew warm, "Actually," She said shyly, "I was hoping I could come back to your dorm? Boys aren't exactly allowed in the girls dorms," She said hoping she wasn't being to forward.
Malfoy couldn't believe his ears, "Are you sure?"
Hermione nodded, "I want to spend the day with you if that's ok?" She asked wondering if she was being overbearing.
His heart pounded, he wondered if she knew the power she had over him, "As long as you promise to spend the day with me tomorrow too," He said pushing her brown hair out of her eyes.
Hermione smiled, "Oh I don't know, we better see how today goes. That might be too much one on one time."
He rolled his eyes at her, pulling her arm to follow him.
HPHPHPHPHPHPHPHPHP
The common room was to her surprise empty, "Where is everyone?" Hermione asked as they made their way past the fireplace.
He shrugged, "Not exactly sure," He said grabbing her hand suddenly, pulling her into his chest, "But I'm more than ok with it," He said smirking at her.
Hermione blushed wrapping her arms around his neck.
He put his forehead down on hers. He could feel her body tense.
"What if people see us?" She asked.
His face went cold almost looking offended. Suddenly he pressed his body against hers, leaning down on her, his words playing on her lips as he spoke, "I don't give a bloody damn who sees."
Hermione looked up into his eyes and knew that he meant it. She had NO idea that this was Malfoy. She had no idea that he was this passionate, this strong, this loyal. It was undermining every misconception that she had about him. It was as if she was getting to know a whole different person.
He looked down at her his lips aching to kiss her. He finally gave into his temptation and placed a light kiss on her deep pink feathered lips.
Hermione closed her eyes, absorbing every single sensation. His lips were addicting. There was no other word for it. It was becoming a drug. Her hands went up to his hair, pressing his head down toward her deepening the kiss.
Malfoy kissed her more greedily. Feeling her soft hands run themselves through his long blonde hair.
Hermione caught him by surprise as her tongue ran across his lips.
Malfoy let out a low moan, catching Hermione by surprise. So much so that she jumped breaking the kiss.
She looked up into his eyes that were hazy with desire, "I'm sorry," She said embarrassed.
He shook his head, pulling her back to him, "I told you don't ever be sorry," He said tucking her hair behind his.
Hermione leaned into his hand, loving the feeling of his touch.
"Do you want to go upstairs?" He asked.
She hesitated, "Will anyone be upset if they see me again?" Knowing full well he knew who she was referring to.
He looked at her determined, "Even if he does, you are NOT leaving this time do you understand me?" He said looking at her coldly.
Hermione nodded, hoping it wouldn't come to that.
He took her hand leading her up to his bed, thankfully, the dorms were empty too. His bed was perfectly made, his silver silky sheets perfectly placed. Curtains hung from every corner, just like every other bed for privacy. Hermione couldn't help but help herself onto his bed, she crawled onto it. Placing her head on the soft feathered pillow. Her lungs were instantly filled with his musky cologne. It smelled just like him. She tried not to be to obvious as she smelled his pillow.
But he smiled looking at her standing at the edge of the bed, "I can't believe I'm actually jealous of a pillow right now."
Hermione rolled her eyes giving a sheepish smile, "Well get over here then," She said patting the bed.
She didn't have to tell him again as he first drew the thick curtains, unable to see through them. Malfoy then climbed onto the bed next to her.
Hermione propped her head onto her hand, facing Malfoy. He was also facing her, tempted to kiss her again. But he didn't want to give her the wrong impression, he wanted to talk to her.
"Can I ask you some questions?" He asked not really knowing how else to say it, looking at her softly intertwining his hand with hers.
Hermione's eyes slightly furrowed, curious. She nodded, "Sure," She said keeping her eyes on his hands that was now sending a fire up her arm.
"I wanna know… What do you want to do when you get out of here? What are your plans? What do you want to do?" He asked curious.
Hermione wasn't expecting a question like that, it took her back for a moment.
"Well I've always dreamed about being an Auror," She said finally, "So the plan was to get good enough marks so I could get into the Ministry of Magic and work my way up there… But it seems as though I am already admitted," She said with a blush, "After the war the Ministry told me that I have place to work their if I wanted to N.E.W.T.S or no N.E.W.T.S. And I think I will. I just wanted to finish my schooling first."
Malfoy nodded, "Only you would want to finish school when you already have the best job offered to you."
Hermione blushed, "I think it's important to finish things you start," She said, "Plus I want to take my N.E.W.T.S."
Malfoy looked at her as if trying to figure something out, "You're crazy," He mumbled shaking his head.
She nudged him playfully for his snide comment.
"What about you?" Hermione asked, "What do you want to do?"
Malfoy gave a loud sigh, "I don't really have a choice, I'm a pureblood. I do what my parents want me to do."
Hermione's eyes furrowed, "What do you mean?"
He looked at her serious, "I am going to work for my dad's business. He has a group of investments and I will learn the ropes and take over the Malfoy Mansion."
Hermione noticed how desperate he looked, how trapped he must feel.
"But what do you want to do?" She asked again.
Malfoy looked at her amazed, no one had ever bothered to ask him that question. Not his mother, not his father, his friends. Everyone just assumed that that is what he should want.
"I don't know," He said honestly, "I haven't really had much reason to think about it."
"I think you would be an excellent Auror," Hermione said softly, making Malfoy's head snap up.
He looked at her like her head had been blown off, "You do realize that me and my family are part of the reason that the wizarding world was almost overtaken by Voldemort?" He said bluntly, "They may have pardoned me and my family, but that doesn't mean that they would take me for a ministry employee."
Hermione shrugged, "I think you'd be surprised," She heard him scoff, "Come on Malfoy, you are smart, you figured out how to get Death eaters into Hogwarts without anyone knowing. You were able to evade the power of the evilest wizard ever."
"Yeah well I'm also the reason Dumbledore is dead," He said looking away disgusted at himself for being so weak.
Hermione looked at him, realizing that he was truly sorry for his part, "But you didn't. You couldn't go through with it. Snape was the one who did."
He shook his head pain evident in his eyes. He looked away from her for a moment, his eyes started to grow sad, "Granger," He said his eyes snapping back to hers, "I never said sorry."
Hermione looked at him like his head was about to explode, was he really going to swallow his pride and say he was wrong?
"For what?" She asked.
"What I did during the war… it was wrong," He said, "I am not proud of it. Any of it… And," He couldn't even get the words out.
He sat up tears threatening to surface. And he was NOT about to let himself cry in front of her.
Hermione sat up, "Hey," She said tugging at his arm looking at him, "What are you talking about?"
"I keep thinking about it over and over," He said, finally speaking. But unable to look at her, "I'm so sorry that I let Bellatrix do that to you that day at the Manner," He said in a low soft voice.
Hermione became very still, surprised that he would bring that day up. She try to suppress the shiver that went up her spine. Horror threatened to engulf her, that day was one of the scariest days in her life. She instinctively looked down at her arm.
"That wasn't you fault," She said in a monotone.
Malfoy slowly put his hand on her arm, "Granger don't," He said, "I was there. I could have done something, but I didn't. I sat there like a coward…There is not a day that goes by that I don't remember your screams," He said, his eyes cold.
Hermione eyes started to grow moist, she blinked back the tears, knowing that she wouldn't stop if she started.
"I just sat in the other room," He repeated, "And…" pausing for a moment, "And did nothing."
Hermione scooted closer to him making sure she could look him in the eyes, "I won't deny that I wish that you hadn't done a lot of those things. But I don't blame you for what happened. You knew that it was Harry that day, but you said you weren't sure. You bought us time Malfoy. You did help in your own way."
Malfoy shook his head, "Don't make excuses for me," He said running his hands through her hair, "A lot of things were my fault."
Hermione looked away glad to know how he felt about the past. That he took ownership of it.
Malfoy's hand went to Hermione's chin lifting it back up to his.
"But Hermione," He said. Hermione's skin grew goose bumps from him using her first name, "I promise you… I will never let anything like that happen to you again."
Hermione's face grew in surprise by his promise. When did this happen? Who was this? This couldn't possibly be the same boy that she saw on the train on their way to Hogwarts this year. He had changed.
He had changed because of her.
"I believe you," She whispered, and she meant it.
Malfoy looked at her mouth at the pink plump lips. Hermione knew what he wanted.
She closed the gap between them and placed her lips on his. This time, the kiss was more meaningful. It wasn't just a 'I want you' kiss, it was more than that. It was I'm here for you kiss, you mean so much to mean kiss. I understand you kiss.
Malfoy ran his hands through her brown silky hair. His hands snaking around her hips bringing her body closer to his.
He finally broke the kiss before he started to get carried away.
Hermione looked at him, her eyes becoming hazy with desire. But she restrained herself.
"Can I ask you a question now?" She asked him.
He nodded, knowing what she was going to ask.
"When did you realize that you had real feelings for me?" She asked curious.
He didn't have to think about it, because he knew.
"The moment saw you on the train," He said honestly.
Hermione's eyes furrowed, "What?"
He looked at her softly nodding, "The moment I saw you it was over," He said explaining, "I couldn't believe how much you had changed over the past couple years. You're so strong. So honest and upfront. So good. Everything that I'm not… And in that moment, I realized all of that," He said his eyes dead center, "It's made you the most attractive women I've ever seen."
Hermione continued to be surprised by Malfoy's words. He was honestly such a puzzle. So many layers were being uncovered to reveal more and more about him.
"What about you?" He asked desperately wanting to know.
Hermione knew that one, "When you helped me into that dress at Beautify Burks," She said looking at him to see his reaction.
Malfoy gave her handsome crooked smile, "You are a superficial girl aren't you?" He joked.
Hermione rolled her eyes giving him a playful shove, "Not because of the dress," She said looking away shyly, "It was just the first time that you'd ever touched me like that," Keeping her eyes fixed on the bed, "I can still remember the shivers that went down my back… and the way you looked at me," She said, "I felt like it was the first time you saw me."
She finally got the guts to look up at him, he was looking at her so intently she almost wanted to look away from him again.
"I am starting to fall for you Granger," He said without thinking.
Damn his mouth running away from him.
Hermione's heart burst at his words, she felt the exact same way. She hadn't felt this way about anyone, no one had ever made her feel like this. It was a feeling that she had when only he was around. He made her feel safe, he made her feel alive.
Hermione kissed him, wanting him to know without words that she was so glad to hear him say that. Her hands pushed herself as close to him as possible closing out any space between them, putting her hands around his neck.
Malfoy's hands went instantly around her waist, and up through her hair. His body being lit on fire. Granger was his drug. A drug that he couldn't ever get enough. His tongue brushed her lips asking for entrance. Hermione's mouth opened almost instantly letting out a soft moan.
Hermione swung her leg over his waist so she was straddling him, making sure not to break the kiss.
Malfoy could hardly get enough. No girl had ever made him feel like this. EVER. He knew that he couldn't live life without her in it.
Hermione lowered her weight down on him, not being able to help herself. She softly rocked her hips into his.
Malfoy sucked in a sharp gulp of air as his hands went her hips.
He broke the kiss as Hermione stopped, hovering over him her breathing ragged.
"Will you do something for me?" He said tucking her hair back to her ear again.
She nodded curious.
"Call me Draco?" He asked.
If it was anything like when Malfoy said her name, it would drive him crazy.
"Ok," She said, "Draco," She said, the name rolling off her tongue like butter.
It aroused him like no other to hear here say his name.
She noticed his eyes grow hazy with his name. She felt a sense of power knowing that she could have such a effect over him.
Draco sat up, keeping Hermione straddling him. He kissed her addicting lips again.
Suddenly the door swung open of the dorm room. Hermione jumped so bad she instantly wrapped her arms around Malfoy's neck in surprise.
Once she realized what she did she pulled away, Draco's face was smirking with triumph. He put his finger up to his lips signaling for her to stay quiet.
But suddenly Hermione realized that from the sounds she was hearing, it wasn't a group of boys. It was couple. And they were making out. Hard.
"Wait, Pansy," A familiar voice said raggedly, "I can't do this."
It was Blaise. Blaise and Pansy. Making out.
Hermione looked over to Malfoy her eyes wide. He was very still, looking right back at her. Not moving an inch, straining their ears to hear.
I suppose she shouldn't be surprised, they did date before after all.
Pansy gave a loud sigh, "Come on Blaise it's not like you haven't done this with me before."
They began kissing again, Pansy growing more aggressive.
But Blaise shook his head, breaking apart again, "It's not the same Pansy I don't feel that way about you anymore. And if I'm right, you don't either. Besides. You can't."
Pansy gave a large puff, "That doesn't mean I can't forget about him for a few hours."
Hermione looked at Draco, obviously who he was talking about.
"I'm sorry, I can't get into it," He said, "I like Granger."
Pansy gave a scoff, "What is it about that bitch?"
Draco made a move to get up but Hermione grabbed his hand shaking her head.
Blaise was angry, "Don't call her that."
Pansy shook her head, "Sorry, I just don't get it."
Pansy tried to kiss Blaise again, but Blaise put up his hand again, "No Pansy."
"Ugh your no fun," She pouted, sitting on his bed, "So what are we going to do?"
"About what?" He asked.
"About Malfoy and Granger? They can't keep going on like this," She spat, "It's getting annoying."
Blaise shook his head, "We aren't' going to do anything. You don't have to worry. Malfoy and Granger won't last. They can't last."
Hermione's eyes furrowed.
"Do you think I should just tell Lucious?" Pansy said.
Hermione snapped to Malfoy, his face looked pale.
"What would that do?" Blaise asked, "All that would do is hurt both of them. I'm telling you they won't last, especially when she finds out. Because she will."
Pansy scoffs, "He's lucky I haven't told his parents. They would be absolutely furious."
"Your'e not going to do that Pansy. He would never forgive you," Blaise said.
"We need to tell Granger," Pansy said suddenly, "Once she knows this will all be over."
Blaise gave a loud sigh, "I know, I'm giving Malfoy a chance to tell him himself… but you're right. If he doesn't tell her soon I will."
Pansy looked over a Blaise for a moment, "I'm sorry I had to break up with you," She said in a completely different voice. Being genuine for once in her life.
His eyes hardened, "I know. You did what you had to… I'm just glad Granger came into my life."
Hermione felt Draco's rage as his hands gripped the bed sheets.
It took everything that Draco had not to get up and hex him into the next century.
Pansy made a barfing sound, "You could do so much better than Granger."
Suddenly another person came into the common room, it was Goyle.
"Hey," He called to the pair, "The scrimmage is about to start, you guys coming?" Goyle called.
Blaise gave a loud sigh, "Yeah were coming."
With that Pansy and Blaise left. Shutting the door loudly.
Hermione let out a breath of air she didn't know she had been holding.
Her eyes looked at Malfoy, hurt by his deceit.
Draco couldn't stand the way that Hermione was looking at him.
She suddenly got up off the bed quickly. Heading toward the door, upset by what she had just witnessed.
Draco got up just as quickly, grabbing her arm to stop her.
"Wait Hermione, please don't leave," He said begging her, "I can explain."
She didn't even have the will power to be angry, she was just hurt. Very hurt.
"What are they talking about? Why do they think you're going to break up with me? And what do they want to tell your father?" She asked her voice cracking.
Draco looked like he wanted to crawl into a hole. He couldn't lose her. He would lose his mind if he did.
"Hermione," He said stepping closer to her.
But she took a step back, her face cold.
Draco felt like a knife had just been shoved into his heart.
"Look ok, ok I'll tell you," He said, "But you have to promise me that you won't leave once I tell you."
Hermione looked at him unbelievably, "I will decide that once you tell me what the hell is going on."
Draco looked at her giving a loud sigh.
He desperately wanted to find a way out of this one. Especially not after the conversation they just had. He wanted to have her as long as he possibly could. He was afraid of what she would do once he told her. But he had to tell her.
He took a deep breath, "Pansy and I are in a marriage contract. She's my fiancé," He said as though it was acid coming out of his mouth.
Hermione thought she was prepared for anything he might say.
Turns out she wasn't.
She couldn't breathe.
