Sorry

As Azula aimed her lightning straight at Zuko's chest she realized with a jolt that she was about to kill her own brother. She realized just how wretched and dreadful and atrocious and vile she had become. She had become a monster just like her father had wanted.

She used to be a little angel until father took her mother away. Her mother had been the only one protecting her from her father. Zuko tried to stop their father from hurting her, but her father just beat him for it. He took Azula away for special training. He pushed her until she collapsed and burned her when she made a mistake, she had the scars all along her arms to prove it.

As tears slipped down her face she changed positions and instead of at her brother the lightning shot harmlessly into the sky. Her brother and the water tribe girl stared at her incredulously. She mumbled "I can't do this anymore" before dropping to the her knees and sobbing, mumbling "sorry" over and over again.

Zuko cautiously walked up to her as Katara was telling him it could be a trick. Zuko was wary at first but when he heard her sobs and mumbled apologies, his heart broke at the sight of his baby sister so broken up. Since their mother had left Azula had begun being a heartless monster. Two years after their mother left up until now Azula never once shed a tear. She had made a promise that she would never be so weak as to cry again and her crying now said a lot.

He dropped down to her side. "Zuli, what's wrong?" Zuko and Azula had been very close before her father took her away for training. Zuko had known her better than anyone. He used to bandage her wounds every time she came into his room with tears in her eyes and burns on her arms.

"Zuzu, I'm so, so sorry." she said as she continued to sob. "I've been a monster and there is no excuse. You probably hate me now but could you ever forgive me."

"Zuli I never hated you, I felt sorry for you because of the way father treated you, and was jealous at the same time because you were better than me at everything, but I never hated you. How could I hate my baby sister? I love you Zuli and always have." he said as he wrapped his arms around her.

"Zuzu, I miss mommy." she said while pulling away and looking up to face him, sniffling. With her eyes red and puffy and the hurt showing plain in her eyes and her lip quivering, she looked incredibly like the fifteen year old girl she was.

"I miss her too Zuli, I miss her too" he said as tears filled his own eyes.
