He says the loneliest place in the universe is on top of the Cascada Tower, where not even the brush of your own fingertip can be felt as it wipes away a tear drop. He says the most dangerous is on the battlefields of Skaro, at the turn of the Sanctum War. He says the place you feel most euphoric is on the Islands of Aluben as you float on the Ashen Sands. The grains of pure energy cause you to feel lighter than the faintest feather.

These are the only three things about which you'll find The Doctor is mistaken.

The Doctor. The only man you ever need to meet. Defender of the skies; protector of souls; a shield to those who cower and a sword to those who fight, The Doctor is an encyclopaedia of the stars in the form of a walking, talking man. But there are some things The Doctor can never know. While the vast expanse of knowledge he carries around in his powerful mind never wavers, three things will never get the chance to. They are locked away inside many unmistakeable heads, and I'm the owner of a key.

Forever I will carry this burden. Forever I will bear it. For The Doctor cannot know. He cannot understand. He does not know of true loneliness, or of real danger, or absolute euphoria.

The loneliest place in the universe is anywhere you step once you see the TARDIS dematerialise from outside of it.

The most dangerous is outside of your own memory once he's gone, for the plain and ordinary cannot be grasped once you've stood by his side.

Euphoria, on the other hand, can only truly be experienced once. In this moment, you are the most important creature in the immeasurable cosmos. In this moment, you feel alive for the first time. You feel as if the whole world kneels before you. This moment is the moment The Doctor comes back.

My name is Amelia Pond. I'm the girl who waited. If you're ever whisked away by a magical blue box, and if you ever find yourself standing on the ground while it flies up into the night… wait. The Doctor will return. The Doctor always returns, if not in a way you expect.

My name is Amelia Pond, and I'm here to tell you it's worth every second.
