It was their own world, and it was absolutely perfect.

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Perfect.

The sky was nearly the most perfect thing he could see.

Not a single cloud blocked the sparkling spheres of light hanging oh so delicately along a silky black sheet, enveloping their small world in a comfortable darkness. No rain or snow. No sleet or hail. The breeze was warm and subtle, close to the ground, making their hair as tangled as their entwined fingers. It was their small world with just the two of them to enjoy it.

Matthew had his legs tucked close to his chest, his free hand on his denim-covered knee. He gazed at the swirling milky ocean of stars and galaxies, a gentle smile gracing his features. The sound of a content exhale drifted along with the wind to his left.

It was then that he tore his eyes from the heavens to set his stare on the teenager beside him, taking in the attributes of his boyish cheekbones, the slight curve in his button nose, his tousled straw-blond locks he craved to run his hands through, his soft lips that he wanted to have pressed against his–

And his eyes.

The bright sapphire orbs that could rival a clear night sky in September. How they shone like the stars above, though across a sea of July waters. Blue like the morning peaking over a horizon, opposite of his own lavender, twilight eyes.

Matthew often got lost in them of he wasn't careful.

The precious azure gems met his violet ones, and suddenly, the Earth's magnificent upper atmosphere was forgotten. He would much rather watch the stars replicated in these eyes than in the sky. Time had stopped, and he wished for it to stay that way for eternity.

The eyes brightened with a grin after a moment of contemplation. He could see himself reflected in those perfect eyes, as well. Unjudged, appreciated, loved.

"Beautiful." He heard his companion mumble; whether about the sky or him was beyond Matthew.

No. You are far more beautiful than any sky we may lie under, any whirling galaxy we may look upon, any star we may hold in the palm of our hands. You are amazing, Alfred; Perfect.

But, before Matthew could open his mouth to reply to the rhetorical statement, he found that same pair of soft lips upon his own; and in that moment, everything in their small world was absolutely perfect.
