Title: A Lesson in Punctuality.
Summary: Kakashi decides he needs to work on his timekeeping skills when it comes to Naruto. Established!KakaNaru. Sick!Naruto. AU.

I don't really own Naruto but a girl can dream, right?

A/N: KakaNaru is another of my guilty pleasures. I couldn't resist posting at least one story for this pairing. Enjoy!

"This is all your fault."

Kakashi had to hand it to the blonde; only Naruto could pull of such an intense glare with tissues stuffed up his nostrils.

He looked terrible; his eyes were red-rimmed and watery, his hair was even more tousled than usual and his normally tan skin was even paler than Sasuke's. He wouldn't look out of place as an extra in a cheap zombie film.

The silver-haired man couldn't help but wince at the loud noise of Naruto's hacking cough. "I'm... Sorry?" He tried, not sure what he was apologising for.

Naruto choked again, a small amount of spit soared from his gasping mouth and landed on Kakashi's t-shirt. The blonde wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. "I waited in the freezing cold for three hours!" He swayed slightly, groaning at the loud volume of his own yell. His voice was a lot quieter the next time he spoke. "I should've known you wouldn't turn up..."

"Naruto..." Another apology was on the tip of his tongue.

Kakashi felt guilt wash over him as he finally remembered their date. Naruto had been so excited. For weeks he had been talking non-stop about the movie which Kakashi had no real interest in seeing. He just wanted Naruto to be happy. It seemed he couldn't even do that...

Naruto shook his head. He felt like a complete moron, sniffling and crying like a teenage girl who'd just been dumped. He wasn't normally the type to get so emotional. "Forget it. Next time I want to watch a movie I'll ask Sasuke or Sakura."

Kakashi took a step forward, hating the way Naruto immediately took a step back. "Look, we can go see the movie another time..." He reasoned, watching worriedly as Naruto struggled to even stand up straight.

Naruto shook his head. "No..." He tried to sound firm but his voice came out as a pained moan. Kakashi was at his side in an instant, catching him in his arms before Naruto's brain even registered the fall. His lips trembled. "I don't feel so..." He trailed off, pulling away from the other man in order to throw up all over the new carpet. Kakashi rubbed his back soothingly, whispering sweet nothings into his ear as he continued to empty his stomach.

"Are you done?" Kakashi asked gently.

"Y-Yeah..."

Kakashi easily scooped the blonde up into his arms and carried him through to the bedroom. He carefully placed Naruto in the bed, tucking him under the warm covers. "I'm so sorry," he whispered before leaning down to kiss his cheek. He didn't even complain about the smell of vomit.

Naruto looked at Kakashi through half-lidded eyes. Part of him knew he should still be angry at Kakashi but he was too tired and too ill to care. "Love you Kashi..." He murmured tiredly, closing his eyes and snuggling into the pillow.

"I love you too, Naruto."

Kakashi was never late again.

Not for anything which concerned Naruto, at least.
