Mistake

"You're seriously not going to let me win, are you?"

"Heh, just 'cos you're a woman, doesn't mean I'll go easy."

Temari looked in annoyance at the lazy ninja. She was sick of shogi, so she introduced him to a game called chess.

Unfortunately for her, Shikamaru got the hang of the game quickly.

"What was it...oh yeah. Check mate in three moves, troublesome woman," he smirked.

Temari looked back down at the board, trying to figure out what he was talking about.

When she realised it, she sighed. "Damn it, and here I was actually just a couple more moves to actually beating you."

Shikamaru stretched. "Yeah well, that was your mistake, thinking that I had actually left an opening."

"I get it, I get it, don't rub it in, cry baby," she replied frustratingly.

"So, are you going to give up now or what?"

Temari continued to look at the bored intently, making Shikamaru smile.

"Unlike you, lazy-ass, I don't just give up during one of our battles, be it on the field or on a board."

Shikamaru chuckled at the statement. "Whatever you say, woman. Just know that I haven't made any mistakes, and all the moves you could possibly conjure up won't help. Not now."

Temari gazed at him slyly. "Really?"

Shikamaru didn't even bother to nod.

"How confident are you that you've taken in every single possibility?"

"What are you trying to get at, Temari?"

"If you win, I'll buy lunch. If not, you'll be the one to treat."

Shikamaru smirked. "Deal."

Temari moved her piece. The only way the move could be of any effect though, was if Shikamaru made the mistake.

"Really?" Shikamaru asked, picking up a piece.. "You didn't think I saw that move already woman? Guess my wallet will be safe for a few more meals then –"

Temari bent over the board, kissing Shikamaru on the lips.

The sudden move caused Shikamaru to drop his piece right on top of hers.

She retracted as quick as she leant over the chessboard.

"Guess you do make mistakes, crybaby."

With the piece out of the way, Temari turn ended the game.

"Checkmate."

Shikamaru didn't even look at the board, just at the girl who he just locked lips with. "That was..."

Temari smiled, standing up and began to walk off. "I feel like seafood, and not the cheap type."

Shikamaru licked his lips slightly, still trying to comprehend what had just happened.

With a sigh, he got up and followed her. "Troublesome woman," he began as he caught up with the girl.

"Just don't spend my money on lobster."

End.
