Hallelujah
Based on Imogen Heap Song (Special Version)
Spencer and Derek walked in the old room where Derek had proposed to him. He began to tear up as he smiled. It took them so long to get where they wanted to be and now they're finally there. There were always problems between them. Always. It never changed. And now Derek wants to pretend there's nothing going on between them?
"What's wrong darling?" Derek rubbed his back as his tears raced down his cheeks.
He shoved his hand out of his reach and glanced at the floor as he explained, "Baby, I've been here before. I've seen this room and I've walked this floor. I used to live alone before I knew you. I seen your flag on the marble arch; but love is not some victory march, it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah."
Derek understood. He wanted to get out of the place in their life they were in. "You don't have to be scared. Remember when I told you?"
He laughed ruefully at the memories. "There was a time that you let me know what's really going on below; but now you never show that to me, do you?" His painful eyes looked at him, "Remember when I moved in you? And the holy dove was moving too? And every breath we drew was hallelujah? Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah." He hummed the last spoken words beats' as he dropped her ring on the floor. It was finally clear to his that this relationship was nothing to him, and it never will be. He roamed out of the room, leaving him there to pick up all the broken pieces.
