Guess what guys? This is the end of this story! FINALLY! Man, I've been working on this story for more than a year and now I'm finally done! I've also been looking through the stories I'm going to write soon. I know that I've been getting people anxious to see the ones like my genderbending stories and my last DP story I'll ever do, but... I want to wait on those. There are other fan fictions I'd like to get onto that've been on my mind for who knows how long. So, enjoy this last chapter and get ready for my next story coming up. Review please!
The sun rose for the next morning to arrive. Uka had been having lack of sleep from all the worrying about whether or not Jaden would wake up or not. She'd visit the hospital and find Yugi in one of the worst kind of depressions she ever saw in her son. Yugi couldn't even eat due to the fact he was afraid of regurgitating it up again. There was fear for Yugi and Jaden in Uka's mind.
Uka dressed herself, and then decided to call her son, who was borrowing Solomon's cell phone for the moment. She heard a ring of her father's cell phone right away, then hung up. Her eyes widened as she walked to the living room where Solomon was located watching the Sports Channel.
"I thought Yugi was borrowing your cell phone!" Uka said.
"Oh, he came by this morning, before you woke up, and returned it," Solomon replied.
"Where is he?"
"Oh, picking me up some olives from the store!"
Uka knew what Solomon meant by that. The last time he said that was the first day Yugi left without saying goodbye. It seemed that he just packed and walked out yet again. Uka cursed herself for not waking up earlier to say goodbye to her son before he took off. She was close to bursting into tears at this moment. Then, a thought occurred to her.
"Wait, did Yugi say anything about Jaden?" Uka asked.
"Jaden? Oh, you mean the sweet young lad with him? He's with Yugi!" Solomon reassured as Uka sighed in relief. So Jaden did wake up. "Oh, Yugi left a note for you on the table!"
Uka walked to the kitchen and found a little strip of paper folded in half. She took it and opened it. On it read, "since you were upset about me not saying goodbye, well goodbye. Jaden and I are going to China, then other places after that. I love you." Uka smiled sleepishly before refolding it. At least Yugi said goodbye this time, even if it wasn't up in front.
A train was driving from Domino City to the end of the island of Japan. There, amongst the numbers of people inside the train, was Jaden fast asleep next to the window with his head on Yugi's lap. Yugi brushed his hand through Jaden's hair as the boy slept soundlessly. A smile appeared on Yugi's lips while looking out the window.
A train stewardess walked by with a bright smile on her face. Yugi looked up with a smile of his own.
"How's everything going?" The stewardess asked.
"Good. You got more ice packs?" Yugi asked.
"Yes sir, right away!" The stewardess replied before walking away.
Jaden moaned, opening his eyes before stretching and yawning. He pulled out an ice back from his chest under his black shirt. It was lukewarm and not giving him the sensation that he needed. Since coming out of the hospital, Jaden had been having pains at his chest area where he'd been cut by Rath's Black Luster Soldier, which was now stitched up.
"How you feeling?" Yugi asked.
"Been better," Jaden replied before letting out a yawn. "I hate Vicodin! I can't even eat anymore!"
"Yes you can, just a small portion. The doctor says you have to take it, if you feel any signs of pain," Yugi said.
"That makes me feel better," Jaden replied sarcastically as Yugi chuckled slightly.
"We should be heading to China soon. You say your parents have a place there?"
"Yep. Used to live there for a while. It's nice."
"I hope your folks don't mind me staying too!"
"You've been inside all the houses they own!" Jaden smirked as Yugi chuckled in reply.
"I had Chazz's help of doing some research. He found a newlywed couple called a Henry and Lisa Fudo."
"You don't think..." Jaden asked with pure shock in his eyes.
"I wouldn't doubt it. Yusei's coming," Yugi said with a small smile on his face.
"So that's why you offered us to go to Rockland Town," Jaden realized with a soft smile. "You're wanting us to unite?"
"Yeah," Yugi replied, a slight blush entering his cheeks. A sigh left his nose. "It'll be difficult. Our age difference will be way different from me and you. It will be more difficult to have the same bond we once had."
"I'm willing to take that chance! Besides, Yusei will start going back in time when he's an adult. Then, we can enter Domino City!"
"Or what's left of it. Yusei did say about its destruction," Yugi reminded Jaden. A sigh left his lips. "I'm glad Marik decided to help Atem get back to the Underworld."
"mhm."
"Here you go!" The stewardess said, handing Yugi an ice pack, and he gave it to Jaden, who placed it on his chest.
"How long will I have to stay like this?" Professor Banner asked in a complaining manner, who was floating on the ceiling of the train, since Pharaoh was inside Jaden's duffel bag, located in the compartment above Yugi and Jaden.
"Until the train stops," Yugi replied.
"Good morning, Jaden," Professor Banner greeted Jaden.
"Hey," Jaden greeted back with a sleepish smile.
"I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you in the tournament. If I would've known-"
"It's fine, Teach," Yugi assured. "We suspected something fishy was going on. We didn't want Pharaoh getting hurt. He was better off at the house."
"We should leave them alone before people start staring at them," Yubel suggested and Professor Banner disappeared.
"We should be at our stop soon. You go get some sleep," Yugi suggested as Jaden yawned and closed his eyes to sleep. Yugi looked at the window at the passing landscape. He knew it would be only a matter of time before him and Jaden hit their destination to where they would take a boat ride to China, the location of one of Jaden's homes. This would only lead to a whole new adventure. Nothing new!
EDIT: Since I'm finally going to make a sequel to this, I might as well announce it. It will be called To The Unknown 2: Beyond the Known. I have been debating on the storyline, explaining why the title changed about January-March sometime. Can't really remember ^^; Anyways, here is the official summery of To The Unknown 2: Beyond the Known:
Yusei, after about a year of his signer mark disappearing and his friends moving on to their own lives, he finally reunites with Yugi and Jaden, who have grown old through the years and are married. To celebrate their reunion, they enter a Three-Way Turbo Duel, releasing the new Multiseat D-Wheels, which can seat 2-3 passengers per bike and allows those passengers to duel as well. It's the reunion of the trio's friends, but there also seems to be something dark about this tournament when the losers of the tournament, that are out of the game, are given a Penalty Game, which might lead to their death. Now, knowing the danger of this duel, the trio must ban together in a turbo duel that might cost their lives, especially Yugi who has arthritis on his left knee and hands.
