Ayane wasn't the type of girl who read shoujo manga. One look at her and anyone would instantly agree that she was more of the type to pore over fashion magazines and maybe even gossip columns.

A deserted bookshop and a search for the latest issue of Vivi change everything though. Normally, she wouldn't hesitate to walk past the the table advertising discounted shoujo manga volumes. But one title written out in bold red characters stopped her dead in her tracks.

Curiously, she checks the summary in the book insert and before she knows it, she's almost halfway through the volume. She makes a decision almost instantly. She walks to the cashier slowly, the book dangling from her right hand. She holds it loosely between her thumb and forefinger and she almost turns back because she can't be doing this but the girl behind the counter is now looking at her curiously so she feigns nonchalance and hands the purchase over to pay.

Back at her house, she locks her door and she reads.

The next day she goes back to the bookstore to buy the rest of the volumes.

She doesn't tell Sawako and Chizu. She doesn't tell her sister. Reading some manga wasn't exciting enough news.

Ayane realizes one day, when she was arranging (or rather hiding it from plain sight) her manga collection (no, it wasn't a collection, she only had 5 different titles, that wasn't enough to make a collect was it?) that she doesn't want to tell Sawako, Chizu or her sister. In fact, she doesn't want anyone to find out.

Chocolate Cosmos. Oresama Teacher. 7th Period is a Secret. Faster than a Kiss. Sukinara Sukitte Ieyo.

Ayane wasn't an idiot. She lied to others, but she certainly didn't lie to herself. She knows. She knows she has it bad when she's degenerated to reading shoujo manga featuring students and their teachers in romantic relationships.

Note: The raws for chapter 59 kind of depressed me so I had to write some Ayane/Pin. Even if Pin was only present in spirit.
