Renesmee hated being watched.
Every heartbeat was counted, every breath cherished, every smile reveled in and every movement applauded. She was the light of her family's eyes and the love of their lives. And she knew that she was loved.
She detested being watched, though, because then every mistake was noticed and laughed at, written off as a funny, cute moment. Not to her.
All her mistakes did was point out how different and incompetent she was compared to her parents. And when Jacob watched, it was worse because he was supposed to be her soul mate.
Still, he let her screw up and make a fool of herself.
But letting her family, her wolf, watch her made them happy.
Renesmee hated being watched, but she let herself become a show anyway.
Rachel hated being in La Push.
She saw her mother's beautiful face carved into the walls of every place she turned.
She heard her voice in every splash of the water and every word that came out of her father or brother's mouth.
She had needed to escape when she was eighteen and she had planned on never coming back. It caused her much too much sadness.
But Paul needed her to stay strongā¦the pack needed her to stay strong.
And she was in love with Paul no matter how bad she wanted not to be.
Rachel hated being in La Push, but she lived there anyway.
Claire hated not having a choice.
She was going to grow up and live with Quil and they would eventually marry and have a little pack of puppies.
Everyone had hinted at that from the beginning, and that was what all expected from her because it was just what imprints did. They listened, they were obedient and they stayed with their wolves.
Secretly, she wanted to escape to Italy or France, anywhere in Europe where it wasn't always raining.
But she cared deeply for Quil and she couldn't bear to hurt him or her family.
So she threw away all of her dreams, all of what she wanted and lived a planned and scheduled life.
Claire hated not having a choice, but she gave up her free will anyway.
Kim hated being treated as if she were made of porcelain.
As an imprint, she had to be taken care of with the uttermost tenderness and love.
She could not be allowed to do anything dangerous, and therefore nothing fun.
She was constantly being watched and protected. If she got upset someone would rush to her aid and smile and laugh until she was doing so herself.
She was stalked from behind, just in case she slipped and needed to be caught.
But she did not complain, because she loved Jared. She always had, since she was a little girl, young and shy.
Kim hated being treated as if she was made of porcelain, but she let the delicate handling continue anyway.
Emily hated Sam.
She had not minded him beforeā¦before he become a werewolf, before he imprinted on her, before he had broken her best friend's heart.
And then he showed her how much he loved her, and she couldn't bear to see anyone in that much pain.
She could not bring herself to ignore his pleas any longer. She knew if she did he would hurt himself.
And some part of her did care for him, she knew it was the imprint connection deep down inside her soul.
But she needed to do what was best for everyone else. That didn't necessarily mean she would get her own happiness.
Emily hated Sam, but she pretended to love him anyway.
This is something I thought of and typed up in a total of fifteen minutes. An angsty side of imprinting.
Thanks to those who read. :)
