Special thanks goes to "smonkey" and "u r awesome" for all your reviews. You guys have given a lot, and I don't think I've thanked you yet :)

Another thanks goes to BeautyOfTheDark-KLM for encouraging me to not stop writing.

This story was made solely to mark my one year mark since I began writing on Fanfiction. Funny though, because I only dug it up now, nearly two years after :)

Though the sun had already set a while before, the two decided to stay.

Well, one of them anyway.

"It's cold, and troublesome. Why are we still here?"

Temari ignored him. "I told you, tonight there weren't many clouds, so I get to stay out here and stargaze. So stop being a crybaby and enjoy what the night has to offer."

Shikamaru sighed. "Whatever woman. I still don't see how you could possibly tolerate this cold but."

She laughed softly, moving so that she sat with her back at his chest. "Stop complaining. We've been doing for a long time now, being on this hill and enjoying the view, regardless of the time or weather."

Shikamaru smirked. "In other words, enjoy it because you want me to."

She gave him a slight nudge in the stomach, making him grunt a little.

"Yes," she replied.

Chuckling, Shikamaru leaned back onto the tree trunk, lifting his head. A small shooting star streaked by.

A memory came into his mind. "You know, I've lost count at just how many shooting stars I've actually seen since we started stargazing on this hill."

Temari leaned back until she could feel his breathing on her back. "Meanwhile, I'm still to see one."

"That's just because of your horrible timing. I mean, even when the others ended up coming here with us that time, you and Naruto were the only ones not to see it."

She pouted slightly, once again refreshing Shikamaru's memory. "Oh well," she answered. "At least there's still the stars that stay still."

"Plus the days we would cloud watch," he added.

"You mean the days you would want to sleep," Temari shook her head, smiling.

"This is one of the places that I can say is actually relaxing. Sue me."

"I'll just slap you awake again if I need to."

He laughed. "You never change."

"Like you can talk, Lazy-ass."

"Heh."

They enjoyed the silence for a while, just watching the stars and progressively getting colder.

"Remember when we first came here together?"

"How could I forget?" Shikamaru answered. "You interrupted my dinner, you troublesome woman."

"Like you were actually eating. You're skin and bones, idiot."

"Well you weren't exactly helping by dragging me out here, were you?"

She smiled softly. The moonlight lit up her face. "Guess not."

Shikamaru did his best to hide a very happy smile, and disguised it as a smug look. "Oh well, at least it was for a decent reason. Troublesome that you fell asleep on me though. It forced me to wait for a woman like you to wake up."

Temari smiled cheekily. "I bet you were happy to have a lady like me leaning on you."

He looked away, cheeks slightly red. "Tch, troublesome woman."

She laughed. "Just to think that was just about a year ago. A lot of memories are made during that time."

Temari looked up and finally saw what she was waiting for; a shooting star whizzing by.

Shikamaru held her, he had seen it too. "This place always seems to stay the same though."

The cold no longer affected them, and all Temari did was accept the warmth Shikamaru gave her.

"Let's make sure it's kept that way."

End.
