Chapter 1

It was an early Sunday morning and I could smell Asano's cooking from my attic room. I twisted and turned in my bed until I admitted I had to get up. I woke up my black cat Gigi, and got ready for the day. By the time I was done I heard Osono's voice calling me.

"Hey Kiki breakfast is ready come down whenever you're ready kay?"

I finished putting my bow in my hair when I replied.

"I'll be down in a minute!"

"Well hurry up your food is going to get cold!"

I carried my broom down the stairs with me with Gigi hanging on my shoulder. It was a nice and warm summer day today and there were barley any clouds in the sky; the breeze felt perfect. I couldn't believe it's already been a year since I came to this town. I grew so close to it.

"Hey you came." Asano said as I opened the door to the bakery, then she handed me a plate of pancakes. I looked at the plate of pancakes with disgust because I had been eating them with Gigi for 3 weeks straight.

"Actually, Asano I'm not really that hungry today."

"Why? What's wrong you feeling sick Kiki?"

"No it's just that I'm not that hungry right now."

"Well alright then if you're hungry I'll put them in the fridge."

"Kayyy."

I smiled to myself being able to take a break from the pancakes. I looked at the door and smiled hoping that I would have any customers today. The thought made me excited and run to the front. It was still only eight in the morning so obviously there wouldn't be any customers, but I waited there anyway with a smile on my face.

"Kiki why are we here right now it's too early for the customers to arrive." Gigi said as he yawned and stretched on the counter.

"Who knows maybe someone might come early; I don't want them to come to an empty cash register."

"I guess so, but Kiki what if no one shows up?" Gigi started his complaining again as he yawned again.

"Then we'll just have to wait right Gigi?" I looked at my sleeping cat bundled up like a little fur ball and smiled to myself.

By noon time the rush of customers came in. I smiled because I loved the bakery when it was busy. After selling around a hundred loafs of bread, cookies, and making around five deliveries I was tired. Osono's been busy ever since she just had her baby, and so it was only Osono's husband and me working; so we're having some trouble. I looked out the window, and it was still only around two o'clock. I was looking outside of the bakery window when I saw a couple hold hands and kiss right in front of the bakery. Then I sighed with envy and asked Gigi,

"Hey Gigi?"

"Yes Kiki?"

"What do you think it's like to be in love?"

"Love is a complicated thing I don't really think you should look into it that much why is that?"

"Oh no, it's nothing I was just wondering what it would be like holding hands with someone that you like."

"Well if you ask me I don't know either Kiki, I don't even have hands."

"HAHA I guess your right Gigi, so how's you and that cute girlfriend of your's?"

"We've been good but I'm happier staying with you."

"Liar…"

I dug my chin into my elbows as I waited for another customer to arrive and when the door opened I met him….

I had never seen him before, his pitch black hair reached the middle of his neck and his side bang swooped onto the right side of his face, his eyes were a charcoal black, he was much taller than me and probably only a few years older, he was slender and was wearing a white T-shirt with Black jeans; and I couldn't help but notice the black cat following behind him. He carried a broom with him as well and then I realized that he could be a witch just like me. He was very handsome and looked utterly calm as he walked through the bakery checking the prices of the bread.

Then I saw two other guys come into the bakery. The first guy was much shorter than the guy who had come before him. His eyes were a hazel color and his hat covered his ears, but his brown hair still showed out. He looked around my age and he was wearing a black T-shirt with brown cargo pants. The last guy was very tall around Asako's husband's height, and he was very muscular as well. He had blonde hair and had a beard, and his eyes were like a crystal blue color. He looked as if he was around 6 times my age. He carried a big bag with him and wore a plain Blue shirt and grey pants. I couldn't take my eyes off of the guy who had entered before them, for some reason I was captivated.

"uh…Kiki…what are you looking at?" Gigi asked as he looked up at me.

"Huh? Sorry Gigi did you say something?"

"Yea I did, what's wrong with you?"

"He's so beautiful…" I said with a dazed look on my face.

"Well if you ask me I don't think he's that good looking."

Suddenly the short boy came running to the counter.

"Hey miss do you sell any cookies?" He asked with a smile on his face.

"Huh? Oh yea we do it's over there." I said as I pointed to the corner of the bakery.

"haha Thanks!" I looked at the boy's broom and had the urge to talk to him, maybe he was a new witch and he came here for his one year of training like I did.

"Um…" I tried to say some words but they wouldn't come out of my mouth. The boy the black hair turned around and looked at me.

"You're cat…it's black…" he looked at me strangely and replied.

"yea…and the sky is blue so what?" my face turned red with embarrassment.

"Well you're carrying a broom and you have a cat are you a new witch?" I blurted out.

"Cuz you see I'm a witch too and if you need help around town I wouldn't mind showing you!" I smiled as I looked at his face, so slender and beautiful.

"It's alright you don't have to worry about it. My friend's and I already examined the town." For some reason my heart felt heavy.

"Well alright then, are you all visitors or do you all live here?" I said proudly. Then suddenly the short boy came into our conversation.

"We're living here now, we just moved here; you know the house next to this bakery? " He said as he pointed to the newly renovated house next to Asako's bakery.

"Oh wow really? That's great!" I live here."

Suddenly Osono's husband came in and stared at the very tall man with a beard. It seemed like they were bonding with their silence. Then the tall man whispered into the short boy's ear.

"Well I'm Beezlebub, but you can call me Bubz if you want, and this old guy right here is Drake. Oh! And this is Leon." He said as he pointed at the black haired boy.

"Well I'm Kiki and I'm right now a witch in training, and this is my black cat Gigi!"

"Hi Gigi! so does this mean you can make magical cookies?" Bubz's eye lit up like fire works when he asked.

"I'm not sure but why don't we try to make some later?"

"Rodger that Kiki! Well we three got to go unpack soon so we'll see you later." Just like that they all left, then Leon then gave me a glare as he walked away and I suddenly felt a cold breeze.

"Br.. it's cold in here." I said as I covered my shoulders with my hands.

"Um…Kiki? Are you okay?"

" I looked down at Gigi who was staring up at me. I smiled and patted my cat.

"I'm fine Gigi."

"Alright but if you end up not feeling to well you should tell Asano."

"Yea…I guess I should." I started to lean my head against my two hands as I watched them leave..
