Disclaimer: I don't own any part of NCIS (except some DVD sets).
Just a little moment I felt deserved more closure than we had time for in the finale.
Palmer was gathering up his belongings from his storage locker in the morgue when he heard footsteps behind him."I'm almost ready, Doct—"
He turned around and stopped, surprised. "Oh, hi, Ziva. What are you doing down here?"
"I just wanted to see how you were doing before you left," she said, walking over from the doorway.
"I'm okay. Cobb didn't actually hurt us."
"That's not what I meant. You haven't had to go through something like that before."
Palmer turned back to his locker. "I'm a little shaken up, yeah. But it'll pass, right? What about you?" he asked, looking back to her. "You were kidnapped today."
She shrugged. "He didn't do anything. I was just a distraction."
"See, I wish I could do that, just not let it affect me, instead of need Doctor Mallard to drive me home tonight."
She frowned. "Do not confuse innocence with weakness. The day you can be tortured and it doesn't affect you, then I will worry about you."
She stepped up and patted him on the cheek. "Besides, you should be proud. He didn't break you."
Palmer frowned as she walked off. "He didn't ask us for any information."
She smiled back at him from the door. "That's not what I meant."
Palmer thought about that for a moment after she left. Then he went back to gathering his things with his mind slightly more at ease.
