This was inspired by A) a need to add a new story and B) my current obsession with subway systems.

Note: The announcements are based off a map and what I got from Voices in the Deep.

"Porte de la Vilette. Next station: Corentin Cariou. Watch your step as you disembark..."

"Yumi..."

"Yes, William?"

"Why the Paris Metro? You know I don't like subways."

"Good. This is a metro, after all, not a subway."

"...You're evil."

"Thank you."

Screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech.

"Corentin Cariou. Next station: Crimée. Watch your step as you disembark..."

"William?"

"Yes?"

"You know you hate subways?"

"Yes."

"Don't go on the Tokyo Subway during rush hour. Trust me on this."

"Not planning to... why not, anyway?"

"They have to stuff people onto the train to shut the doors.

Screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech.

"Crimée. Next station: Riquet. Watch your step as you disembark..."

"Were you joking about the Tokyo subway?"

"No."

"Right. Shame. We could have gone to Tokyo together.

"We still can."

"Yes, but we'll have to drive."

"No. We'll just take the subway when it's not rush hour."

"...Have I mentioned how hot you are when you're being stubborn?"

"Riquet. Next station..."

"Come on, William. This is our stop."

"It is?"

"Yes. Now open the goddamn door."

"How?"

"Gee, I don't know. Maybe push the button labelled 'Open'?"

They got off the train just as the train started buzzing, and watched as the door slid shut.

"Hey, how come the doors don't open automatically?"

"It's an old system."

"The London Underground is the oldest system in the world, and the trains have automatic doors."

"Yes, but the London Underground is so old they've actually bothered to... Wait, you've been to London?"

"My uncle lives there."

"You have an uncle?"

"Did I ever say my parents were only children?"

"So," William began, "why are we at-" (he read the sign) "-'La Villete Basin'?"

Yumi smiled. "Boat trip. And don't you dare say you hate boat trips."

"Oh, I like a good romantic boat trip. It's just that I can't swim."

"Ah, well. There's barely any chance that something will happen, especially now Xana is dead."

"Well-"

"William?"

"Yes?"

"Get in the queue for the damn boat."

I think they're a little OOC, but I also think that Yumi would become even more stubborn and impatient.
