Summary: When Misa insists on asking a question, she gets a little more of an answer than she was expecting. (MisaxL)

Disclaimer: I don't own Death Note. I just like putting other people's characters in messed situations w

"Ryuzaki, have you ever kissed a girl?"

The question seemed to come from nowhere, making the detective blink out of surprise. Black eyes flicked up from the cheesecake L had been dissecting and to Misa who sat slouched and bored on the couch across from him.

"I beg your pardon?" he asked. Certainly he'd heard her wrong.

She raised a brow. "I asked if you've ever kissed a girl. After you made Light-kun stay handcuffed to you all that time I had my doubts about which way you swung, but I figured I might as well ask." She watched him silently for a moment before pressing again. "So? Have you?"

L sighed, turning his attention back to the sweet cake he'd been enjoying. "I don't really see how it's relevant to you, whether or not I have."

"So you haven't." she stated, tilting her head as she watched him inquisitively.

"That's not what I said."

"No, but you didn't say that you did." Misa pouted. "I think you just like avoiding Misa Misa's questions."

L glanced up at the blonde as she crossed her arms under her chest and puffed her cheeks childishly, her glare trailing off to the wall to her left.

Why must she be such a nuisance?

"Why must you know whether or not I've kissed a girl, Misa?" he asked. There was no real interest behind the question, he simply didn't feel like watching her mope over not getting her way. She was bad enough normally, he didn't need her in a sour mood. It would just get in the way of the investigation.

He watched with mild amusement as a spark of delight shone in her eyes. "I'm just curious."

"Curiosity killed that cat, you know." he chided before taking a bite of his cheesecake.

"But, satisfaction brought it back." she retorted, now facing him fully again. Propping her hands against the coffee table, she leaded forward, placed her face in L's personal space – he couldn't help but wonder if it was intentional—and pouted once more. "It's a simple 'yes' or 'no' question, Ryuzaki. Have you kissed a girl?"

He wasn't entirely sure what drove him to what happened, but a moment after blue orbs met back the breath's distance between them disappeared and their lips connected for a short, fiery kiss that came in a flash of tongue and teeth that left the sweet taste of cheesecake in the model's mouth. When he pulled back, L found Misa dazed with half lidded eyes staring at nothing in particular. Her breath came in shallow huffs that he could feel against his face.

The ghost of a smile pulled at his lips as he sat back and returned to his precious cake.

"Yes, Misa, I've kissed a girl."

A/N: …don't ask where this came from. I really don't know. I'm not that big of a fan of Misa. She's a ditz and basically gave herself away to Light. She could have been a lot more but she fell miles short of her potential because of her blind loyalty to Light. But I DO love L (if you couldn't tell). …I… really want some cheesecake now. |:

R&R is loved and appreciated!
