It is certainly not impossible. The laws of probability are exceeding strange, and the idea, once planted, may take on a life of its own, springing directly from the mouth of a doomed courtier into the mind of a certain Erwin Schrödinger.
Yet despite this, and despite the knowledge that quantum physics is one of the odder branches in which to work, the scientist conducting the experiment is still very, very surprised when upon opening the box, it's not a cat, either dead or alive, that he finds, but two Elizabethan gentlemen, spinning a coin and bickering about the draught.
