I knew you three days only...
The time with her was short. So unbearably short that it could almost not have existed at all.
But Donna Noble was not one to be forgotten. She was fire and life, heartbreaking compassion and friendship. Donna's existence demanded her memory; she was so much more than just an ordinary human, far before the meta-crisis. She had been brilliant.
He still didn't know how she managed to become his best friend so quickly.
We walked the nights through citied snow,
You said the stars spelled out my name,
I said they spelled yours...
He knew Donna's name would be in the stars forever. He had made sure of that, traveling to each one of the twenty-six planets she had returned to their proper skies. He told them of her life, her story, and her suffering. They sang songs of Donna Noble, praising her and thanking her for saving their lives and the lives of their children.
I'm never truly fine when I recall the moment I...
Closed the door one last time...
And said goodbye to your sweet eyes...
Her last words haunted his sleep. He saw her eyes in his dreams, expressing more than words ever could. He saw them every waking moment. Whenever he blinked his own hers were there, sorrow so deep that it tore his hearts to pieces. Eyes that told him that they were the same.
But he couldn't have let her die. She was the most important woman in the universe. She could never die, not with the people of twenty-six planets singing her song across the stars. And with that thought he set out alone, Donna's memory the only thing he had left, never truly fine.
Goodbye...
