"Slasher!"

"No."

"Killer!"

"No!"

"Bloodlust!"

"No, no, and NO!"

Mom, Sota, Inuyasha, and I were sitting in the living room, eating a small lunch. Inuyasha had been throwing out ridiculous names for at least twenty minutes now. I had tried to input my names, but he kept coming up with more and more.

"Kagome, our pups are gonna be badasses! They should have badass demon names!"

I scoffed. "They sound like names for a dog."

"Dog demon." He corrected me.

I rolled my eyes.

"How about Kiba?"

We all looked over at Sota. I looked back at Inuyasha.

"In English it means 'fang', I thought that it sounded nice, and it can be for a boy or girl."

Inuyasha smirked. "Not bad, kid. I kinda like the sound of it. What do you think, Kagome?" He nudged me.

"I actually really like it too…but, more for a boy than for a girl." I smiled.

"Well we have one name down! One boy name…we need two in case there's two boys, and then two girl names!"

"For a girl I was thinking Kanji…" I said quietly.

"What? Why?" Inuyasha looked at me.

I shrugged. "One meaning of it would be simplicity or easiness…I don't know. Even though she'll be part demon, I just hope she lives her life simply as a girl…"

Suddenly Inuyasha stood up and left the room, going upstairs and slamming my door behind him. I excused myself and followed after him. I cracked the door open and peeked inside. Inuyasha was sitting with his back towards me on my bed in his angry brooding position: crossed arms and legs.

"Inuyasha?" His ears perked.

"Are you ashamed of me, Kagome?" Inuyasha asked, not looking at me.

"Of course not!"

"Then you shouldn't wish for our kids to be 'simple'. You're not 'simple'. I'm not simple…"

I sat next to him. "That's not a bad thing. In fact, I'm perfectly happy with my life not being simple. I just meant I hope they're able to live without…you know, being treated differently."

"Well, it's gonna happen. Whether we like it or not…"

"Maybe not. The villagers see differently now. They see you as a hero, and they love us together."

He sighed. "Well, maybe…"

I kissed him on the cheek. "It'll all be okay."

He grabbed my hand and squeezed it gently. "Okay, then. But another girl name I had was Kimiko..."

I smiled. "I like that one, too."

We walked back downstairs and asked my mom for the calendar. There was a new moon January 20th, a few days before my actual due date. We could do this. We could actually make this work. I cried with joy and hugged Inuyasha tightly. "I'm so glad…" He sighed into my hair.

Afterwards we said goodbye to my mother and brother. We promised we'd come back a few weeks before my due date, just in case anything happened, at least we'd be safe.

When we arrived back at the village, Shippou was the first one to greet us. We asked where Miroku and Sango were, and apparently they had taken off to a job in a village quite a few miles away from us. Shippou was left in charge of watching the kids. They'd be back by sundown. I went in our little hut and laid down for a while, napping until sunset. Inuyasha had gone out and returned with cooked rice and chicken for dinner. It wasn't until after we all finished that Sango and Miroku had come back to hear our news.

"Sounds like everything is going well!" Miroku smiled, holding little Miko who was squirming all over the place.

"Yeah!" I smiled. "We're all going to be alright. It's a lot of weight off of our shoulders. We were so relieved when we found the new moon."

"We're relieved as well," Sango hugged me tightly. "And don't worry, I've had twins, too. I can give you some pointers."

I laughed and then looked around. "Where's Inuyasha?"

"I think he went outside" Shippou said.

I got up and walked outside. Sure enough, Inuyasha was laying down in the grass behind the hut, looking up at the stars. I laid down next to him and we just stayed silent, watching the sky.

After a few minutes, he pulled me onto his chest, not saying a word. He began stroking my hair softly, and we just stayed like this for a while.

'I'm so glad…' I thought. 'We have nothing to worry about anymore…we can just stay like this forever…'

A few weeks later and I could not get the kids to stop moving. They kicked, punched, and squirmed all around inside me. While sometimes it was charming, other times it would hurt like hell. I remembered the first time Inuyasha could see them moving, he couldn't get enough of it. I would keep my shirt pulled up and watch my tummy move suddenly and would gasp in awe. Eventually, I took his hand and put it on my tummy. After that, he would keep it there for hours, feeling the life blossoming inside me. Even when I would take a nap, he would be rubbing and watching my stomach, a slight smile and a look of wonder in his eyes.

A couple of months went by and I was huge. I kept getting bigger and bigger every day. Even when I thought I had gotten as big as I could, I grew even bigger. Sometimes I wondered if I was having triplets instead of twins. Sango said even she wasn't as big as me when she was pregnant with her twins. Sometimes it made me anxious, and sometimes it made me happy. Seemed that it would mean my babies were healthy.

Inuyasha had begun this habit of talking to my tummy. It was the most adorable thing…sometimes. Other times, he would be so mad and swearing all over the place, he'd swear to the kids. I had to pull his ears a couple of times to make him quit.

Because I was in my third trimester, I was extremely irritable. My back was killing me, my boobs were so sensitive I wouldn't let Inuyasha anywhere near them, even when we were in bed, and my feet were so swollen I never wanted to get up. Of course, I did get up and walk around every once and a while, for my health. Another symptom that I wasn't fully aware of was hicks, or fake contractions. In the middle of the night, I would get one or two and freak out. Consequently, this would freak Inuyasha out. Sango came in and reassured me that these weren't the real contractions, and we'd all go back to sleep. That was probably my least favorite part.

We were leaving to my era soon, when Sango stopped me and told me about having a baby shower.

"Baby shower? We really don't need to do that…" I chuckled uncomfortably.

"Why not? It'll be fun! We've already made the preparations. Geneji's coming, and Kaede, and Sesshomaru…"

"Sesshomaru?" I exclaimed. "Are you kidding me?"

"Well…no, we essentially invited Rin, but we figured he'd probably come with her."

"Oh…"

"And Koga's supposed to come with Ayame."

My jaw dropped.

"Kagome, you okay?"

I rubbed my temples. "Yeah, yeah. Everything's fine…This is just going to be really weird."

Sango laughed. "You're being ridiculous. Everything will be great! Miroku's gone to earn some food by exorcising a demon in another village."

I rolled my eyes. "And I'm sure that he won't at all be ripping them off."

"Well, I'm sure he will, but..."

"No way! You encouraged him?!"

She chuckled. "Yeah I guess so…"

"So when's everyone supposed to be here?"

"Like…tonight."

I paused for a second to register that. "…TONIGHT?! Ohmygosh…I have to get ready! I'm not even in decent clothes! I have to take a bath, clean the hut, wear a nice kimono, maybe do something with my hair, ohmygosh where do I even START?!"

I panicked and left Sango there to start the busy rest of my day. This was so last minute I was out of control. I stormed into our hut and screamed at Inuyasha to take a bath and wear something nice. He didn't even reply, he just started doing what I asked. This in itself was a sign that I was out going ballistic.

'Oh great…just…great'

Thank you to everyone still reading. I know, I've been one of those jerk authors who just disappears and doesn't finish their story. While a lot of things have happened that have interfered with my finishing the story, I'm not here to make excuses. I wanted to apologize, and say that I have figured out what I'm going to do for the ending, and that has helped me finish this story. I'm determined to finish this fanfiction before I go back to college, which is January 10th. Expect the story to be finished on or before that date. Again, I'm very sorry I abandoned this story. Thanks once again to those still following and reading. Happy Holidays! And remember to check out my Sesshomaru/Rin/Shippou fanfiction, "Wishing Time Stood Still"!
