This is the direct result of me in history class with a few friends sitting near by. We went over World War I and America's involvement and one of the reasons to get involved was because Germany had asked Mexico to attack the US for them. Well, it turned out that a US ship intercepted the transmission and was like, "*snapsnapsnap* Oh no you di'nt!" Some friends of mine and I were joking about how it was like passing notes gone wrong. And this happened. XD I hope you all enjoy!
Passing Notes
A Hetalia one-shot
It was a peaceful day in the World Academy, where many young nations studied all that they would need to know for the future. Truthfully, it wasn't all that peaceful. Tensions between certain students were rising and the school was anything but peaceful. On one side, there was the cute couple, Austria and Hungary, who were allied with Germany and Italy. On the other side, England, France, and Russia were plotting a way to bring the others down. America, however, was oblivious to the tension between the two groups and spent his time chasing butterflies.
One day, during history class, Germany had taken some time to jot down a note on a small piece of paper. As the teacher blabbed on and on, he passed it to Belgium.
"Pass this to Mexico," he whispered and the blonde girl nodded shyly, handing the note to Norway who in turn gave it to Iceland.
Iceland handed the note to Mexico, a small young man who bore an uncanny resemblance to Spain. Mexico, however, had darker hair and skin than the Spanish country and tended to wear a sombrero even though it was out of school dress code. Also, Spain had a love for tomatoes while Mexico had a love for chile peppers.
So as young Mexico gnawed on his chile pepper on a stick, Iceland slid the note his way. Blinking at the note with chocolate brown eyes, Mexico reached for it…
"HEY GUYS! What's a-cracka-lackin?"
From the back of the room, England shook his head in dismay. The person who had just entered was America, one of the youngest countries. He was slowly becoming more experienced and more powerful but it definitely didn't show through his personality. The young blonde beamed as he ignored the teacher's glare and walked over to take a seat in-between Mexico and Iceland.
"Hello, Mexico," America beamed. "How are you?" His blue eyes flickered over to the note in the other country's hand and his expression lit up (if that was even possible). "Ooh! What's this?"
"Oy!" Mexico hissed. "That's not yours, cabrón…"
A few seats down, Germany spluttered indignantly. No! America wasn't supposed to get a hold of the note! He could only watch in horror as the American unfolded the small piece of paper, looking over it with curious blue eyes. Curiosity soon turned to shock as he read the note.
"Wh-what is this?" he stuttered, his eyes turning angry at the words in front of him.
On the note was the following:
Mexico,
Do me a favor. During gym today, pantz America for me and you will be rewarded.
-Germany
America crushed the note in his hand and glared at Germany, who stared at the ceiling and whistled innocently. Mexico, glanced between the two, thoroughly confused.
"I can't believe this!" America cried, throwing the note on the ground. "This means war!" He then turned around and ran to England's desk, embracing the Briton. "Arttiiiieeee! I wanna be on your side!"
"G-get off of me, you git!"
And that was the story of how America got involved in World War I.
