His arms went around her, his warm embrace coupled with his confusion had brought out a part of Urd she normally kept locked away, ever since Troubadour had used it for his own ill gotten gains. For a moment she resisted, even thought about pulling her own hands away but all she could do was snuggle closer to his warm body. Her cheek was against his ear, his soft blonde locks tickling against her eyelids. He was shorter than her, but that didn't matter, she felt safe, so utterly safe in his arms.

"I'm happy I met you too, Urd-chan." Now his warmth was filling her too. Or rather the warmth his words conveyed.

In an instant, that happy warm feeling was shattered by two cold voices and the threat of annihilation.

"Kukuku, well this will be an easy kill, huh Brother?"

"How wonderful to kill these lovebirds before the real prize shows up!"

Two forms rose form the sudden mist surrounding them, the world returned to focus. Just as a saw-like chain reached Naruto's back.

"Can't wait, brother."

Blood, instead of hair, now splattered against her cheek as Naruto pushed her away from the incoming attack. Her eyes widened as she saw every horrific moment as the boy's form become ripped apart. Rage filled her eyes and the ring dulled as sparks flew from her body in a awesome display of force. Before the brothers could finish the current attack a blast from

"N... N... Naruto!" Urd's body slammed into his own

"Hey, Urd, it's okay. I'm fine!" He waved off her concern.

"How can you call that wound on your back fine? If it wasn't for Kurama you would be dead!" She shouted at him angrily. Sasuke and Sakura merely looked at one another, uncertain who... or what Kurama was.

"I'm not dead, though." He gave a cocky grin. "Even a A class nuke-nin can't kill me!"

"IDIOT! Do you have any idea how crazy you sound? What would happen if you died! What it would do to your friends! To Sarutobi! To m-!" She cut herself off, using whatever unspent emotion remained to latch onto the boy, her face hidden against his neck. For a moment, Sakura noticed a look far flung from Naruto's normal expression, something almost terrified, before he wrapped his arms around Urd, apologizing softly.

Sasuke grunted, disgusted at the mollified genin, then readjusted his grip on their ailing sensei, and motioned for Tazuna to begin walking for his home.

It was peaceful now, the horrors of the last day's battles seem far removed from this quaint and humble village. But Urd was quiet, and had been since she had yelled at him for his recklessness after being injured when he fought Zabuza. The rather large rip in his jacket, Kakashi's state, and her silence seemed the only things keeping that moment from fading into the back of his mind. That, and the memory of a wet warmth against his neck when she had grabbed him. Tears he guessed. He rubbed the back of his neck uneasily, and not because of the hot sun of the morning burning into it. The thought of making her cry made him feel rather lower than dirt.

He watched as she sat almost listlessly upon the dock, nursing a bottle of sake she had found, staring out at the calm clear water that surrounded them.

Sorry to all my fellow AMG/Naruto peeps, but I just can't keep up with Naruto at all, I don't think I'll be finishing this before 2015.

Naruto just went too far for me to enjoy anymore and RL has left me with no interest in trying to keep writing in this fandom. Therefore, this fiction is as finished by me as it every will be, and any one may continue should they wish. PM's are always welcome if you would like to know where I was heading with the story. Adoption papers are a go.
