Intoxicating Scent

Chapter One: The New Girl

The moonlight shined down to the sleeping city below.

But not everyone was asleep as a car flew down the street. The young man in the car had silver long hair that had a pair of dog ears that rested on the top of his head.

His golden eyes darted down to his cell phone that vibrated to life.

Picking it up, he saw it was his best friend calling.

"Yo, what do ya want Miroku?" he said answering the phone as his eyes looked back to the road.

"Now Inuyasha," Miroku said, "is that how you're going to answer the phone when I call? No 'how are you?' or 'great to hear from you.'?" He said sarcastically into the phone.

"Hmph," Inuyasha huffed as a smirk came onto his lips, "what do you want Miroku?" he repeated.

"Do you still have Yukie's number?" Miroku asked.

Inuyasha's smirk grew bigger at the question.

"Yea, but I'll tell you now," he said as he turned the corner, "she ain't good in bed."

"On the rate of one to ten how bad is she?" Miroku asked.

"Four." Inuyasha said flatly into the phone as he pulled into his apartment's parking lot.

"Better than nothing," Miroku said making Inuyasha laugh.

"I'll give it to you at school tomorrow." Inuyasha said as he hanged up and got out his car.

As he walked into the fifteen storey apartment, his phone vibrated only again to life.

Inuyasha opened the text message and began to read it as he walked into the elevator and pressed the sixth floor button.

Hey Inu-babi, can i come over? im bored, i need you ;)

Love Kikyo

Inuyasha debated to tell Kikyo to fuck off or come on over. Kikyo was one of their high school's top sluts and she was always trying to get in Inuyasha's pants. He did have to admit, she was nice in bed. But she was too clingy for him, she was always texting him or trying to call him.

As the elevator doors opened to the sixth floor, he walked out and decided to let her come over as he text her back.

U can come over but u better be out the second we r done. got it.

Once the message was sent, Inuyasha walked down the hall in silences. As he reached door number 506, he placed his key in the door and unlocked it. Before opening the door, a pile of empty boxes outside the apartment next to his caught his eye.

"Hmph," he said as he lightly kicked the boxes, causing some of them to fall over, "guess someone finally moved in,"

Walking away from the boxes, he entered his quiet apartment.

Inuyasha turned on the lights and began to pull off his shirt, revealing his well built chest.

His eyes darted to the clock that rested against the wall; it read 7:32pm.

"Keh, tonight is going to be a long one." He said as he began to walk to his room.

Once he got his fix from Kikyo and she got the hell out, he could finally get some sleep before having to wake the hell back up for school.

Whoever decided that school school start at 7:30 in the morning can kiss my fucking ass Inuyasha thought as he walked into his bedroom and looked at himself in the mirror.

A knock from his front door caused his ear to twitch slightly.

"Let's get this over with," he said as he walked out his room and to the front door.

"So Miss Kagome, have ye learned your way around?" a old women asked a raven haired young women as they rode the elevator to the sixth floor.

Kagome nodded as she smiled down the old women.

"Yes m'am. Thank you for showing me, I would be complete lost without your help Kaede." She said as the elevator door opened.

"Are ye ready for your first day of school tomorrow?" Kaede asked as they both walked out the elevator.

"Agh, don't remind me." Kagome said as rubbed her hand through her hair.

Kaede giggled lightly, "Ye have nothing to fear. Ye are a kind and friendly child, I'm sure ye will make friends fast."

Kagome smiled down brightly at Kaede.

"Thank you Kaede." Kagome said as they only now three doors away from her new apartment.

"Oh no," Kagome said as she jogged up a head, "someone knock over my boxes." She said disappointed.

"Don't worry. I'll get some workers to clean this up and take them to the garbage." Kaede said as she appeared next to Kagome.

"Are you sure? I mean, I could do it myself," Kagome said feeling a little bad.

"Ye have more things to worry about than taking boxes to the garbage," Kaede said, "and besides, when you're a manager you can tell help what to do."

Kagome giggled softly, "Thank you Kaede."

"Ye are welcome. And if there is anything else you need, let me know. I'll be down stairs," Kaede said as she waved goodbye and walked back to the elevator.

Once Kaede left, Kagome looked down at the boxes by her feet.

"Asshole," she said as she lightly one of the boxes. It wasn't like she really cared that the boxes fell over, it was because Kaede had told her this morning when she began to move in that there was a couple living on the same floor as her that was having a baby any day now. After she had everything unpacked, she had placed the empty boxes in a pile against the wall in case the expecting parents needed to get to the hospital in a hurry.

What asshole with no life comes and knocks over a pile of boxes? Kagome thought sliding the boxes over against the wall again with her foot.

Once all the boxes were against the wall, Kagome retreated back to her quiet apartment that she now called home.

As she close the door, Kagome leaned her back against the door and looked around.

Her apartment wasn't very big. It has a master bedroom and bathroom. She also had a small kitchen, a nice size living room and a small balcony. It wasn't much, but it was better than nothing.

Walking away from the door, Kagome walked into her bedroom and flopped onto her bed.

A defeated sigh gasped Kagome as her eyes landed on the picture of her best friends and her family on her night stand.

Sitting up, Kagome grabbed the pictures off the night stand and studied with sad eyes.

"This…this is his entire fault," Kagome thought out loud as she began to close her eyes, "No…this is my own fault. If I just…if I just didn't go out with him," she said as a single tear round down her cheek.

A bang from the wall made Kagome jump and snap out of her thoughts.

"What the?" Kagome said getting off the bed and walking over to the wall where the bang came from.

Another bang came from the wall making Kagome tilt her head to the side like a confuse dog.

"What is going on over there?" Kagome question as she placed her ear against the wall.

At first she didn't hear a thing.

"Oh, don't stop! Don't stop!" someone moaned from behind the wall.

"Ekk!" Kagome squeaked as she quickly backed away from the wall and placed her hands over her ears.

"Oh! That is so gross!" Kagome said as she quickly grabbed some pillows and her blanket than left the room, her face turning a bright red color.

Throwing her pillows and blanket on the sofa, Kagome walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water from the refrigerator. Opening it quickly, she took a big gulp of ice cold water.

Kagome sighed as she walked back over to the sofa.

"First night here and I already heard my neighbors having sex, just my luck." She said as she turned off all the lights than flopped on the sofa and began to get comfortable.

They sure are having more fun than me, Kagome thought as she closed her eyes, letting the peacefulness of sleep sweep her away.

"How could I over sleep on my first day of school?" Kagome yelled at herself as she ran as fast as she could in her school uniform down the street.

Looking down at her watch, she noticed she only had eight minutes to get to school and she was nowhere close to the school.

"Oh this is hopeless," Kagome said as she slowed down to a walk.

A car drove quickly past her but slowed down to a stop only a few feet in front of her.

Kagome watched it carefully as she walked closer to the car.

As she past it, the passenger door window went down quickly.

"Hey," a handsome voice said from inside the car, causing Kagome to stop and dart her eyes into the car.

Kagome fought the blush that began to crawl to her cheeks has she looked at the gorgeous man in the car. He had silver long hair and breathtaking gold eyes. But the thing that her hand twitched to touch the most was the ears that sat on the top his head.

"You going to Shikon High?" the young man asked with a smirk.

"Uh, y-yea." Kagome said as she quickly looking away from the man in the car.

"I'm going to the same place, hop in." he said as he leaned over and opened the passenger door for her.

Kagome stared at the door than the man inside that continued to smirk up at her.

Can I trust this guy? I mean, I am new to this town. What if he is a perv and kidnaps me?

Without thinking, Kagome closed the door and smiled into the car at the man.

"Thanks but no thanks. I have legs, I'll just use them." She said as she watched his face paint over with bewilderment. She smiled brightly at him than began walking again.

"H-hey!" the man said as he drove slowly next to her. "Come on, you're going to be late."

Kagome stopped, she knew he was right. Looking back in the car she noticed that he was wearing the boy's uniform, well roughly wearing it. The over jacket was half way unbutton and one side was untucked from his pants while his undershirt was unbutton just enough to let her see his well built chest.

She sighed in defeat as she opened the open and climbed in.

"Shikon High," Kagome said with a stern look.

He smirked at her and nodded and began to put the car into drive.

"So," he said, "what's your name?"

"Kagome, Kagome Higurashi. And you are?" Kagome asked.

"Inuyasha Takahashi. But you can call me Inuyasha," he said looking at her from the corner of his eye.

Greattt. Kagome thought as looked out the window, resting her head on her hand.

"So, you're new to my school?" Inuyasha asked as he turned left.

"Uh," Kagome said looking over to him, "yea I am. How did you know?"

"Well, I guess you can say I know most of the girls at our school. What grade you in?"

Kagome's brow rose at his 'I know most of the girls at our school' statement.

"I'm a senior." Kagome informed looking down at her watch.

"Cool so am I. We might have some classes together than." He said smirking as they pulled into the school's parking lot.

As the car pulled into a parking spot and was placed in park, Kagome looked over to Inuyasha.

"Thank you so much! You really saved the day for me." Kagome said smiling brightly to him.

Inuyasha's stomach began to feel like it was filled with butterflies as she continued to smile at him.

"What kind of guy would I be if I left you hanging like that?" he question smiling back at her.

"A rude one," she said as she opened the door and walked out.

Inuyasha quickly walked out the car and looked over to Kagome who was walking over to the school.

"Do I get a number or anything?" Inuyasha called over causing Kagome to turn around and lightly giggle at him.

"Nope, have a nice day Inuyasha!" she said turning back around while waving her hand to him.

Inuyasha smirked as his eyes examined her body as she walked away.

"So the great hunk Inuyasha can get turned down by a girl," Miroku said appearing next to him, "Who was that anyways?"

"That," Inuyasha said never taking his eyes off her, "is Kagome. Kagome Higurashi."

Miroku watched Kagome walk away also. "Is she new or something? I've never seen her before."

"Yea, today is her first day." Inuyasha said looking to Miroku as he lost sight of her.

"And she was in your car because?" Miroku asked with a perverted smirk.

"Keh, I was driving when I saw her running down the street like a mad woman." Inuyasha smirked as he closed his car door and locked it.

"You know I heard Kikyo tell her friends this morning that you guys had sex again last night." Miroku informed him as they walked to the front doors.

"Keh, it wasn't anything special. And plus that slut wouldn't stop texting me about wanting to have sex." Inuyasha said matter of fact.

Miroku laughed lightly, "She wouldn't shut up about how she just knew that you two were going to hook up very soon."

Inuyasha made a sour face. "Keh! Miroku you know too damn well that I don't do relationships. They're full of fucking drama and the chicks become too damn clingy," Inuyasha said flatly while he and Miroku walked into their first period class.

Kagome walked quietly into the front office looking around at everything.

"Hi there, can I help you?" said a young woman with long dark brown hair.

"Oh, um, Hi. My name is Kagome Higurashi and I'm new here." Kagome said walking up to the girl behind the corner.

The girl looked down at the computer next to her and began to smile while standing up quickly.

"Hi there Kagome, my name is Sango." Sango greet while walking around the corner and shaking Kagome's hand.

"We have some classes together so I'll help you around school." Sango said smiling brightly at her.

"Oh," Kagome said surprised, "you go to school here? I thought you worked here,"

Sango laughed shortly, "No, no, no. My dad is the principal here so I can walk back here."

Kagome smiled, "Wow, I bet that comes with some perks."

"Sometimes. But come on, if we don't leave right now, were going to be late for first period." Sango said grabbing her book bag and Kagome's schedule.

They both ran in a high jog through the less crowded halls.

"So, you like it here so far?" Sango said looking at Kagome in the corner of her eye.

Kagome lightly giggled.

"It's sure different, but so far the people here are nice."

"Not everyone is as sweet as they look," Sango said while turning the corner, Kagome close behind her, "but don't worry. With me around, you'll know everyone and you'll be on your feet in no time."

Kagome smiled softly, "Thank you Sango, you're a great friend."

Sango looked over to Kagome as they began to walk down the hall.

"Kagome," Sango said while placing a hand on her shoulder, "I think you and I are going to be best friends."

"I sure hope so!" Kagome said as they walked into a room that she guessed was their first period.

"So you got Yukie's number?" Miroku asked standing next to Inuyasha as he got comfortable in his seat.

"Oh," Inuyasha said reaching into his back pocket and pulling out a piece of paper, "here, but like I said, she not good in bed." He said handing over the piece of paper.

"Class!" the teacher called causing all the students in the room to look up, "Class, this is Kagome Higurashi. She is new here so give her a warm welcoming."

"Hello Kagome!" the class said in union.

"Hello everyone," Kagome said sweetly as she cocked her head to the side and smile brightly.

"Kagome," the teacher said, "you will be sitting in front of Mr Takahashi." He pointed to the seat in front of Inuyasha.

Inuyasha smirked as Kagome's eyes landed on him. Her face seemed surprised as she walked over with Sango next to her.

"Sango my dear, you look beautiful today!" Miroku greeted Sango as she sat down in the seat next to Kagome.

Sango sighed as she looked up to him.

"Hello Miroku," Sango greeted back with a small smile.

"And dear Kagome! You look just as lovely," he said grabbing Kagome's hand. As his lips were just inches from her skin, a hard punch from Inuyasha caused him to jump up.

"Ouch, that hurt Inuyasha." Miroku pouted while rubbing his freshly punched leg.

"Keh," Inuyasha said narrowing his eyes at him.

Kagome looked behind her quietly. What were the chances that she would have a class with the guy that helped her out this morning?

About ten minutes into class, the class door flew open and a girl walked in. She had long black hair and pale white skin. Kagome looked at her uniform surprise. Her top looked like she shrunken it in the washer. It looked like she rolled her skirt a few times, giving everyone a glimpse of the bottom of her ass.

"Miss Kikyo," the teacher said sternly, "is there a reason you are ten minutes late to my class?"

"Oh, I was busy. I'm sorry. It won't happen again," she pouted while walking over to Kagome.

"Bet she was busying giving someone dude a blow job," Kagome heard Miroku whisper to Inuyasha

As she walked to the seat that Kagome sat in, she looked evilly down at her.

"Why are you sitting in my seat?" Kikyo questioned darkly at Kagome.

"Screw off Kikyo," Inuyasha said flatly, slightly glaring at her.

"Oh Inuyasha!" Kikyo squeaked. "You looked so hot today!"

"Keh, just go find another seat to sit in." he said narrowing his eyes at her.

"Hmph!" Kikyo huffed looking angrily at Inuyasha than back to Kagome before walking to the back of the class and taking a seat.

Turning around, Kagome looked at Inuyasha who looked annoyed.

"Thank you," Kagome whispered softly with a small smile and turned back around.

Inuyasha's stomach began to fill with butterflies once again as he stared at Kagome's back. He closed his eyes and breathed in deeply. Why hadn't he noticed her scent before? It was so…so intoxicating. He breathed in again, gathering more of the intoxicating scent into his nose.

20 minutes had pasted before a note land on Kagome's desk.

Looking at the direction from where the note was thrown, Kagome saw Sango smiling at her pointing down to the note.

Kagome quietly opened the note.

Dear Kagome!

Just to let you know, Inuyasha has been staring at your back ever still he got Kikyo to leave.

Sincerely your new best friend

Sango (:

Kagome's eyes widen as she began to stiffen up. Was Inuyasha really staring at her? She wanted to look behind to check, but want if he really was staring at her right now?

Kagome looked back down at the note and began to write a reply.

Dear new best friend,

What? Really? Is he doing it right now? Why is he staring at me? Is there something on my back?
god, this is so embarrassing.

Sincerely your new freaking out best friend
Kagome!

Kagome threw the note back over to Sango. A minute later, the note returned back to her desk.

Kagome's eyes scanned the note quickly.

Kagome,

Calm down girl(: your acting like you like him, which I hope not! He is nothing but bad news, he has slept with almost every girl in this school.
but we are kind of friends and he can be a nice guy.
but yes. He is staring at you right now.

~ Sango!

Kagome was a little surprise to find out that he had almost slept with every girl here.

So that what he meant when he said he knew most of the girl here. That pervert! Kagome thought as the bell ringed for second period.

Packing everything up, Kagome got up and walked over to Sango.

"Ready for your next class?" Sango asked.

"Are you going to be in it?" Kagome asked hopefully.

Sango pouted, "No,"

"Then no," Kagome said pouting also.

"What class do you have next Kagome?" Miroku asked walking up behind them along with Inuyasha.

"She has history next." Sango informed.

Miroku's face brightened, "We have the same class! Come along Kagome!" he said wrapping his arm around her arm and dragged her away from Sango and Inuyasha.

Sango and Inuyasha watched as Miroku dragged poor Kagome away.

"I hope she makes it back in one piece." Sango said worriedly.

"If she didn't," Inuyasha said walking away to his own class, "I'd kick Miroku's ass."

Sango watched Inuyasha walk away. She tilted her head in confusion.

Inuyasha was never protective of any girl before... Sango thought as she walked to her own class.
