Nagging

So I have two – we'll call them "friends" for now ;)– that like to nag me about many things, these stories included. Well, I'm pretty sure you can figure out where the idea came from.
"...That's why I'm here eating dumplings with you, instead of being with Neji."
Ino took a bite from one of the dumplings and nodded. "At least he didn't try to get out of being with you, not like he would ever."
Tenten sighed. "Still, I wish I could just stop him from going and..."
"And?"
Tenten, was looking to what was in front of her, curious.
"Is that Shikamaru?"
Ino looked forward. "Yup."
"Hey! Shika–"
Tenten's mouth was quickly covered by the blonde's hands.
Ino gave an evil smile "Shh, see how he seems occupied? Let's go figure out what's making our local lazy ninja do something like that."
Quietly, they walked over to the young man until they could see just what he was up to.
Writing.
"So what are you writing about, Shika?" Tenten asked.
His eyes opened widely, and he tried to conceal what was written.
Ino however, was faster.
"Or should we say, who are you writing to?"
Shikamaru snatched the letter back with a shadow, hiding it from their reach.
"Nothing and no one, you troublesome women."
Tenten giggled. "He didn't even say hi."
"Neither did you."
Ino smiled. "Touchy about it, aren't you? So what is it about, hmm?"
"Just a report, now leave me alone."
"If it was just a report," Tenten began, "then you wouldn't mind us seeing how the mission went, right?"
"Perhaps not, but what you should mind is your own business."
The two girls looked at each other. "A special report then?"
Shikamaru didn't answer, but went slightly red.
"Aww, so it's a girl," Tenten said with a bit of excitement.
Shikamaru closed his eyes in irritation. "You two have had your fun, can you go now?"
"After you tell us who, and what, Shika," Ino replied.
"Seriously?"
Tenten laughed again. They were really enjoying this. "Nah, just the what. We all know that it's your little Sand princess."
Shikamaru opened his mouth to say something provocative, but instead just sighed. It wouldn't have been right to say such a thing to a woman.
"You're funny, you know that?" Shikamaru said, dripping with sarcasm. "Now that you know what it's about, what do you think of the idea of leaving me alone?"
Ino got comfortable, and sat beside him. "You know? I think Tenten and I will just watch you finish up. What do you think?"
Tenten finished off her dumpling and sat on the other side of Shikamaru. "Sounds good."
If Neji and Chouji saw just how close the girls were to him, they'd be more than uncomfortable with the sight.
Shikamaru got up. "Well I think you're too late. I already finished it anyway."
He began to walk off. "Later, girls. Please be a little less troublesome and stop nagging me next time."
Tenten pouted slightly, but said goodbye, while Ino just smiled and waved.
The brunette looked at her friend. "Why aren't you upset about not seeing it?"
Ino grinned and lifted her hand, a folded piece of paper being held. "About seeing this, you mean?"
Her pout changed, matching Ino's smile.
"Open it up."
She did, and as she read the first line around, she thought about just how much Temari had changed the young man.
"Hey Temari, How are you? I hope you're doing better than me..."
End.
