"No Ma, I'm not bringing anyone home for Christmas." 35 year old Jane Rizzoli huffed into the phone.
Every year Angela would ask her daughter if she was bringing some one special for the holidays, and every year it was the same answer, no. Just as the words came out of her mouth, the medical examiner, Maura Isles, walked in. "Hey ma, I gotta go. Love ya. Bye." And Jane hung up the phone.
"Hey Maura," Jane said kind of enthusiastically.
"Hi Jane."
"So any big plans for the holiday?"
"Just a nice, lovely, relaxing day at home with Bass. He feels kind of lonely you know."
"That's no way to spend Christmas Maura, alone."
"Jane, it's perfectly fine. It's a nice time to relax."
"Why don't you come over to my house? You know, so you won't be alone."
"It's your family time Jane. I wouldn't want to just show up and ruin it."
"Please M, don't worry about it. Just come?"
"Oh, alright Jane. But what about Bass?"
"Bring him too."
