Just a one-shot when Lucy is tempted to become beautiful.

Lucy screamed. She opened her eyes. It was over. She was back in Caspian's cabin.

"Lucy."

Lucy looked at the mirror in front of her. There in the mirror in all of his majesty stood Aslan. "Aslan!" She looked to her right. He wasn't there. She looked back to the mirror and there he stood again.

He looked into her eyes. "What have you been doing, child?"

Lucy swallowed, tears coming to her eyes. "I – I don't know. That was awful."

"You chose it, Lucy."

She began to cry. "I didn't want to choose that, Aslan. I – I just wanted to be beautiful like," she turned away, "like Susan."

"Look at me, Lucy." Lucy turned back to the mirror and saw Aslan smiling at her. "Does it matter what you look like?"

Lucy wiped her eyes. "I guess not. But still –." That moment, Lucy felt Aslan nudge her with his head. The feel of his mane against was too much for Lucy. She burst into tears again and fell to her knees and begged, "Please, let me really see you!"

"Dear one." His voice was filled with compassion, and Lucy felt his warm breath surround her. She opened her eyes, and there he was, tangible and real.

"ASLAN!" Lucy flung her arms around his neck and buried her face in his mane. "I'm sorry. I really am. I never would have met you if that happened, and I couldn't live without you."

Aslan pulled away and looked into her eyes, smiling. "I'm glad you see that, little one." He bent his head and gave her a lion's kiss. "And one last thing. You are beautiful, Lucy."
