Hoot Special Slash Edition DVD

Extended Boathouse Scene

Disclaimer: Just a short fic so I could get this thought out of my head and finish watching the movie. An extended version of the boathouse scene with Roy and Mullet Fingers after the hospital visit. Yes, this features mild slash. Don't like it? Don't read this story. This is also solely based on the movie. I haven't read the book yet.

"Come on Tex. You've gotta start thinking like an outlaw," Mullet Fingers said, his mouth full of the snacks Roy had just given him. Even talking with a mouthful of food, Roy still couldn't take his eyes off of the barefoot boy.

"I'm not an outlaw," Roy protested and tried hard not to stare at his friend's bare chest. Were they even friends? Would he have done what he did for anyone else? For some other random stranger? No, he wasn't an outlaw; he was in love.

"Yea you are," Mullet Fingers insisted, as though it should be glaringly obvious.

He pulled his white shirt over his head. Roy inwardly sighed as the fabric covered the very nice view of Mullet Fingers' chest.

"Last night at the hospital," Mullet Fingers continued as he stood up. "That was definitely an outlaw move." Or the move of someone in love for the first time.

"You were hurt," Roy insisted and turned his head so he eyes could follow his friend as he moved.

Mullet Fingers turned back to look at Roy as he leaned a little against the open door. "You crossed the line because you cared about what happened to me," Mullet Fingers said, again as though it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Roy paused for a second, not entirely sure how to respond to that. "I jus-" he started to explain with some lame excuse but was cut off by Mullet Fingers lips against his.

Roy's eyes got wide and he froze. Was this really happening? He'd thought about kissing Mullet Fingers probably a million times but his mind went completely blank now that his fantasy was coming true.

Mullet Fingers pulled back when Roy didn't kiss him back. Maybe he'd misread the signals he'd been getting since the first time he and Roy met.

Roy blinked when Mullet Fingers moved his head back slightly. He was still so close. "Sorry," Mullet Fingers muttered and kept his eyes locked on Roy's.

It was now or never. Roy knew this moment wasn't going to happen again. He had more courage than most boys his age but this took guts he didn't know he was capable of. He leaned his head just a bit, his lips slightly puckered. He didn't have to lean far because Mullet Fingers very willingly took a step closer. His arms wrapped around Roy as their lips met.

Roy hoped he was doing this right. It was his first kiss and he had nothing to base it on, but it still felt amazing. Mullet Fingers tilted his head just a bit and their lips moved together. The moment was over almost as quickly as it had begun.

"Hey," Mullet Fingers patted Roy's shoulders when their lips broke apart. "Come on. I've got something really cool to show you." Then he was out the door before Roy could respond.

Just when Roy thought he was starting to figure out his mysterious barefoot boy. He sighed but followed Mullet Fingers out. He wasn't sure what 'really cool' things he was about to see, but whatever it was, he hoped there'd be more kissing.
