His eyes are red rimmed and he takes in a deep breath as he assesses her sitting in front of him on an airport bench.

He has been through hell and back, and he took her with him.

"I didn't mean anything I said," Lita tells him, her own eyes filled with tears as she looks up at him, wondering at the weakness she was willing to let show with him around.

Sliding into the seat next to her he wraps his arm around her waist and kisses her forehead gently, his voice hoarse as he finally speaks.

"I know you didn't, I know."

Lita nods, burying her face in his neck as her shoulders shudder slightly.

"I love you," he murmurs, kissing the top of her head.

She looks up into his face, seeing the red rimmed eyes and the haggard look on his face. "I love you too," she says softly in reply.

"I haven't been able to sleep without you."

"Well now you won't have to."
