PUSHING GIBBS' BUTTON

"McGee," Gibbs called out slamming his keyboard in frustration.

"He's still away on assignment, Boss," Tony reluctantly told the obviously disturbed lead agent. "He's not due back until next week. What seems to be the problem?"

"Why? You gonna fix it, DiNozzo?" Gibbs retaliated. Inside he was cursing the director for sending McGee away to train a group of new recruits. Didn't Vance know how crucial his presence was to his team and helping things to run smoothly?

"Uh- no, Boss, but maybe Abby could," Tony shrugged.

"She has a back log of evidence to get through by the end of the day," Gibbs grunted slapping the keyboard aside in disgust.

"Perhaps you should call the IT emergency number?" Ziva suggested her eyes looking innocently at her boss.

Gibbs looked at her with disdain. "I hate talking to those people," he grumbled. He wouldn't admit he had no idea what the techs were saying half the time, even though it wasn't much of a secret he was basically computer illiterate. Biting the bullet he found the number and waited for some kid to answer so he could make Gibbs feel like an uneducated Probie.

After a few rings a voice recording began: "Thank you for calling NCIS' IT department. If this is a life threatening emergency please hang up and call 911." Gibbs glared at the phone in his hand- of all the idiotic statements, he shook his head.

Putting the phone back to his ear, the message continued, "If you know your party's extension, please enter it followed by the pound key. If you are calling to schedule routine maintenance, please press 1. If you are calling because you have forgotten your password or need to set up a password, please press 2." Gibbs rolled his eyes and took a deep breath desperately trying to keep his blood pressure down.

"If you are having troubles accessing the search engine, please be advised this is being updated until tomorrow morning. This was explained in a memo sent out last week. If you are aware of your problem and would like to explain it in detail with our on staff technological expert, please press 3," Gibbs' finger itched to press the button, but he didn't have a clue what was wrong with his computer.

"If you are logged in and are having trouble accessing your pre-approved sites, please press 4. If you are logged in but unsure where to find the employee protocols, please see your immediate superior and retrieve the handbook."

Losing the last of his cool Gibbs was ready to hang up in frustration. "If you are Special Agent Gibbs, Special Agent McGee informed of us of his absence and the likelihood of expecting your call, please press 5 and a tech will be up immediately to asses your situation and to make sure you are plugged in."

Gibbs smirked and pressed the number to get the help he needed. 'Wait until that tech shows up and finds out not only was his computer plugged in, but he'd shared his first cup of coffee with it.'
