AN: So, this is my first fic... ever, I'd say. It's really short. Like 380 words short. I'm just trying to stick my writing out there, and if you guys like it, I'll post more.

If you have any prompts or anything, feel free to post them in a review!

Please review?

And I know this is really OC. Deal with it :).

HOPE YOU ENJOY.

He was always there when she cried.

Always.

When Jesse broke her heart.

When Finn broke her heart.

Hell, when he broke her heart, he had been there. In the background.

They were similar that way. Always in the background, but in different ways.

For her, it was torture. She hated it. She was a star, and she knew it. It was just hard to make everyone else see that without hating her for it.

For him, it was peaceful. The herd was demanding, and not having to be scrutinized under the microscope daily was sort of relaxing for him. Especially after the baby-gate.

And when she cried, he was always there.

Sometimes he was awkward, hands in his pocket, wondering what to do.

Sometimes he'd hug her, briefly, until she tensed up and he stepped back, disappearing before she could blink. She wasn't sure if she regretted him leaving or not. The hurt usually just melted into one.

But he's always around when she's crying.

This time is different.

This time it's Finn standing there, insulting her. Telling her how she's a slut, someone who sleeps around with everyone she can get her paws on.

Everyone knows it's a lie.

But no one stands up for her.

Except for him.

His fist connects with Finn's face, and before Frankenteen can hit back, he's gone, following Rachel down the hallway.

And hell, she notices. And almost ends up pushing him away when he comforts her.

But he doesn't let her. It doesn't take long for her to give in, crying quietly into his shoulder, her sobs echoing in the empty hallway. This time, when he holds her, she lets him.

She still makes him want to light himself on fire. And when he tilts her chin up and kisses her, they're both on fire. Her tears are drying on her cheeks when he pulls back and smiles gently at her. She burrows her way into his arms and they sit there for a while.

Her tears don't start again until Frankenteen is back, sneering at her for trying to seduce yet another guy. Puck shoots Finn a glare over her head while she cries into his chest again.

He was always there when she cried. And he always would be.
