Emily couldn't keep her eyes from drifting over to where Hotch was standing talking to JJ. She wished that she wasn't such a coward and that she would or could find the courage to tell him what he meant to her. Unfortunately every time she tried to she always chickened out. She brought her eyes back to Spencer and smiled when she saw him looking over at JJ. "You know Spencer you should finally admit to yourself and to JJ that you're in love with her. After all tonight is New Years Eve and the clock is about to strike midnight. There is nothing more romantic than kissing the person whom you love when a New Year is coming in."

Spencer's eyes flashed to Emily in shock. "You're one to talk Em. How long have you loved our Unit Chief now? I'll tell JJ how I feel when you finally buck up and tell Hotch how you feel."

Emily's mouth dropped open in shock. She couldn't believe that just came out of Spencer's mouth but from the look in his eyes it had indeed came out of his mouth. She sighed and closed her eyes and then opened them back up and once again looked over at Hotch who was smiling and then she looked back at Spencer. "Did you ever think that I've tried telling him how I feel Spencer? I've tried so many times but I always back out at the last second. I'm scared of getting hurt. I love him so much that it hurts when I'm not around him."

Spencer smiled slightly. "Did you ever stop to think that maybe he feels the same way as you Em? I've seen the way he looks at you. I may not be the smartest when it comes to relationships and what people are feeling but I can tell you that he loves you. Anytime you walk into a room his eyes light up. Did you ever think that maybe as you said since tonight is New Years Eve and that the clock is about to strike midnight that you should make a New Years resolution?"

Emily looked at Spencer and then smiled. "I'll tel you what Spencer. I'll make the New Years resolution to tell Hotch how much I love him if you make the New Years resolution to tell JJ just how much you love her."

Spencer nodded and said "Alright Emily I'll make that deal with you. Now how are we both going to know that the other one don't back out?"

Emily looked over at Hotch and JJ once more and saw them walking towards her and Spencer. "Well that is easy Spencer. They are both heading this way. So we'll be next to each other when we tell them."

Spencer's eyes turned towards the approaching pair and he swallowed. He couldn't believe how beautiful JJ looked to him. He watched as JJ and Hotch stopped in front of him and Emily but nobody said anything as the clock struck midnight.
