AN: Alright for some reason I wanted to write a future Jack fic. He's like 21 here, so waaaaay into the future. I was going to add more but Cassie didn't like that idea and I like life, so here we are. Jack goes to visit his mom on Christmas Day. Let's see if I can make people cry! Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I only own futuristic Jack!

Jack sighed as he sat down on the cold ground. He couldn't remember the last time he had been there. After 16 he didn't have the heart to visit the past. It should stay where it belonged. Behind him. He didn't want the constant reminder of Foyet to play through his head. He remembered that day, the day that he lost his mother. He remembered the gun shots, the fight, seeing the blood on his father. He didn't want to relive that again, but here he was. He figured she deserved to hear the news from him.

"Hey mom, long time no see huh?" He paused to clear his throat. This was harder than he thought it was going to be. "Sorry. It's just really hard for me to visit. I hate remembering what Foyet did to you, to dad. Dad tells me that he brings Emily out here and tells her stories of when you two dated. I can't imagine he still has new stories after 14 years of marriage." He shrugged. "Whatever floats their boat. Em seems to like them." He brushed his long blonde hair out of his eyes.

"So I met this girl awhile ago. I know, dad probably told you. It seems he's out here blabbing about me all the time. I know he has it down to twice a year, but it still seems like a lot to me. I'm still not a fan of talking about me. Oh back to this girl. Her name is Jillian McCoy. She prefers Jill. She can't wait to meet you. She's got curly red hair and bright green eyes. She's got freckles covering her face. She's adorable. Her laugh is infectious and no matter what kind of mood I'm in her smile brightens my life."

"She's in school to be a vet. We adopted a dog a little bit ago. He's cute, maybe we'll bring him with us once. Anyway, the reason I wanted to tell you about Jill is because I asked her to marry me the other day. She said yes. And she's pregnant. I'm going to be a dad." He smiled thinking of his child nestled safe and sound in Jill's belly. The baby was a surprise, but he loved both of them with his whole heart, much like his dad felt about him, Emily, and his baby sister Rachel. Jack could feel the tears pressed on his eyes. He didn't want to cry. Not anymore.

"Dad kept up his promise. He taught me love both through Emily and your memory. He always made sure I knew how much both of you loved me and how much Emily loved me. He always made sure I had everything I needed and when I had questions about girls he was honest. He gave me your wedding ring to use for Jill. I hope that's ok." He paused to wipe the tears away. He didn't want to cry, but he had lost the battle. He missed his mom.

"He helped me come up with the right words to ask her. Emily said he would help me with my vows too since Jill wants to write our own. We have decided that if the baby is a girl we want to name her after you. Haley Elizabeth Hotchner. We aren't sure what to name it if it's a boy though." Jack sighed as he stood, brushing off the back of his jeans.

"I've got to go now mom, but I'll bring Jill and the baby by soon. Maybe Cooter too. Depends on if he can behave or not. I love you mom" he said. He kissed his fingertips and held them against her name like he used to when he visited every year. He turned and walked away, hands in his coat pockets as he left his past where it belonged once again. Behind him.
