Foreword: Now in this story Lucius is nice...yes dare I say it but only to Narcissa as that is believable .

To note: There are also mature chapters for this story up now.

Narcissa quickly threw her window open. Ha. Father hasn't locked this one! Narcissa could practically taste freedom in the chilly night air as it rushed into her bedroom. The moon was shining bright and full and the night was silent. Only the faint sounds of harps could be heard issuing from downstairs, where her engagement party was in full swing.

Narcissa gripped onto her window ledge until her knuckles turned white. A wave of angry thoughts rushed through her mind. How dare her father and step-hag consent to this! She would show them. Narcissa had plenty of money, and I was ready to run away because it was her life after all. She did not graduate from Hogwarts to become some man's trophy wife. Narcissa stared at her left hand then as her ring finger remained empty... for now.

"It is so clichéd to escape through a window," someone drawled.

Narcissa jumped, whipping her blond tresses around as she sought out the owner of the deep voice. Ocean blue eyes met steel grey ones, and Narcissa found herself rooted to the spot as Lucius Malfoy proceeded out of the shadows. The flare of candlelight illuminated his face. He was utter perfection, with his strong jaw line and pale blond hair which framed his pointed face. The twenty-three-year-old was draped in the most expensive silk, and his crisp white shirt barely hid his well-toned chest. Narcissa found herself swallowing involuntarily as her mouth felt strangely dry. She could not deny that Lucius was handsome but what annoyed her was that he was so arrogant about it.

Narcissa glared at the man who was one year her senior. "What do you want?" She asked indignantly.

Lucius merely gestured for her to sit but Narcissa stubbornly stood where she was, which caused his lips to twitch.

"You know that we are both expected to make a respectable pure-blood marriage," he started.

Narcissa had a sullen look on her face as she nodded slightly and folded her arms."And," she demanded.

Lucius was amused by her but did not comment. "Our fathers are quite adamant that this marriage will happen and I believe I am the best suitor for you by far."

Now this statement made Narcissa scoff in a very un-ladylike manner, and she opened her mouth to make a snide comment, but he silenced her.

"Furthermore the thought of you as my wife seems appealing," Lucius began."You are stubborn which is good since I never wanted a submissive wife."

Suddenly the wizard advanced on her and Narcissa felt her breathing falter as she tried to ignore his close proximity and the fact that he smelled so good. "Like a rare wine," she mused.

By now Lucius was trailing his fingers lazily down her cheek as his lips hovered next to her ear. "You are so beautiful and innocent," he whispered. His breath caused goosebumps to rise on her skin, and Narcissa felt her body betraying her. She tried to fight against whatever was compelling her to lean into Lucius's gentle caress. However, the welcoming warmth of his muscular form and his seductive air drew her in without mercy. Narcissa's eyes fluttered shut, and her breathing had become shallow and soft as Lucius continued with his gentle strokes.

Suddenly Narcissa pushed her hands against Lucius's chest and stumbled back. His allure was broken when she created some much-needed distance. Damn his presence alone is intoxicating!

Lucius deeply chuckled as he gazed down at her. There was a degree of tension and heat that hung about the air. Narcissa couldn't decipher whether this was due to disliking the man or her pent-up attraction for him.

Narcissa narrowed her eyes. "You may be used to getting your way but you will not with me!"

She then stood up trying to seem taller. "I do not belong to anyone, and I am most certainly not your anything," she seethed.

The young Malfoy could not help but be attracted to the fiery witch that stood before him, in a deep, emerald green dress. She was beautiful with her high cheekbones and thick eyelashes which framed her brilliant blue eyes. Her skin was smooth, unblemished and begging to be touched. Narcissa was the perfect embodiment of femininity, but at the same time, she was deadly. She should not be underestimated. Lucius had heard that Narcissa had excellent wand skills and a talent for Occlumency. He had to admit that getting married so soon was defiantly not something he had planned. However, with Narcissa, Lucius knew that she was a once in a lifetime offer. She was very appealing and by far the best choice. Furthermore, this would end his father remarks about marriage which had become constant as of late.

Drawing in a breath, Lucius put his teasing and smug nature aside. "Listen," he started, and Narcissa couldn't miss his serious tone."You know that if your step-mother had her way she would have you married off to some 30+ wizard who would control you."

Narcissa recoiled at Lucius's words for she knew he spoke the truth. However, he just continued. "I will not do that. I have no desire to hinder your ambitions or your freedom. You will be able to do whatever you like. By marrying me, you will escape parental tyranny."

Narcissa studied Malfoy's face as she considered his words. He was right. She would give nothing more than to escape this house. When her mother was alive the Black manor use to be home, but now it was a prison. Narcissa knew that her father had changed after he had re-married.

Suddenly Dimitris's face came into Narcissa's mind, and she shivered with reaction. He was a perverted older wizard who her stepmother only liked because Narcissa hated him.

"I will eventually have to marry someone, and Lucius does seem the lesser of two evils," Narcissa pondered as she unknowingly gazed into Lucius's glittering eyes.

Lucius continued to watch the young witch who was lost in thought. She was unaware of how hard he was trying to push back the urge to kiss her, every time his eyes swept across her plump, coral lips.

Narcissa's extended her hand then. "Okay I accept," she suddenly said.

Lucius took her delicate hand and tried not to flinch as Narcissa shook his in a very business-like manner. Without another word Lucius inclined his head and slowly moved away. However, when Lucius reached the door, he turned around to face the slender witch. "I will see you downstairs."

Narcissa felt a pang in her chest then because for a first time heard a hint of uncertainty in Lucius's voice as if he was asking her rather than telling her.

Narcissa felt her features soften and before she couldn't stop herself, she nodded.

What happened next, Narcissa could have never had saw coming.

A genuine smile fleeted across Lucius's face as he stood proudly in the doorway and even though it only lasted for a sweet moment, it was enough for Narcissa to think that maybe he would indeed treat her right.

With a nod of his own, Lucius quickly disappeared, and the warmth departed with him. Suddenly Narcissa's room felt lonely and cold. The young witch was left dumbfounded. How the hell had he managed to her to marry him?

Narcissa looked around, utterly confused. How had he managed to persuade her so easily? It had to be a spell.
