It was a cold, grey day in northern Scotland, where the magical school of Hogwarts resided. Most students were inside eating dinner, avoiding the cold outside. There were only two people outside. Two boys both wearing identical uniforms, huddled together closely as to not freeze to death. They were talking in hushed voices despite the lack of people outside.

"You can't do this," one said earnestly.

"Yes I can and I will and you will not stop me," the other replied stubbornly.

"Your going to get into trouble, Padfoot."

The boy, Padfoot, laughed hysterically. "Since when have I ever cared about getting into trouble, Moony?"

Moony gave him a stern glare. "You are so obnoxious," he muttered.

"Yes, and that's why you love me," Padfoot teased. Moony tutted.

They were walking towards the great oak doors that lead to the Entrance Hall. Padfoot held open the door for Moony and closed it behind them both. They both sighed when they reached the warmth inside.

"Please, Padfoot, don't do this. It will ruin you reputation and people will shun you."

"I don't care! Don't you want people to know? Are you ashamed?" Padfoot gave Moony an intense stare.

"No!" Moony yelled. "No," he whispered.

"Then let's go." He paraded to the door to the Great Hall with Moony in tow and flung the doors open in a dramatic fashion. Everybody looked back to see who had caused the disruption. Padfoot strutted to the Gryffindor table while Moony followed behind silently. Many girls gave Padfoot wistful looks. He walked to the middle of the table and then proceeded to stand atop it, knocking over many plates in the process. Some students gave him disdainful looks, but all attention was on him, even the professors were watching avidly. The whole Hall was deathly silent. Moony stared up a Padfoot, a look of apprehension on his face.

Padfoot took and deep breath and cleared his throat, the sudden sound making a few people jump slightly. Padfoot looked completely determined.

"I, Sirius Orion Black, am totally and completely in love with…"

The students were hanging on his every word, well except of course for the Slytherins. Almost all the girls looked hopeful that they were the object of Sirius' affections, a few actually looked ready to die of anticipation. Moony was shaking his head in disbelief.

"Remus John Lupin."

There was a collective gasp through out the student body. Nobody could believe that Sirius Black, ladies man was not only gay but in a relationship with one of his best friends. Sirius and Remus had always been close just like Sirius and James were, but for those who were perceptive they noticed that James and Sirius were more like brothers and Remus and Sirius were something else entirely.

"Does anybody have a problem with that?" Nobody dared question him so the room remained silent. Sirius nodded is head.

"Good. Then that means I can do this." Remus knew exactly what he was going to do and sent him a glare. Padfoot hopped down from the table, walked up from the table, took Remus' face in his hands and planted a kiss right on his lips. It was chaste but it confirmed their relationship. A few ever-hopeful girls yelped and attempted to kill Remus with their eyes. James wolf-whistled and some Slytherin yelled a derogatory term at them.

"Now we don't have to hide anymore," Sirius whispered. Remus smiled despite himself.

"I love you," Remus said tenderly.

"I love you too."
