No Where To Go For Christmas

Suuki: "Hello. This fanfic is for LoverlyLight from YouTube. Merry Christmas, Loverly!"

Katsuya Jounouchi kicked at a pile of snow. It was Christmas Eve, and his father had kicked him out of the apartment.

He could have gone to a friend's house, sure, but he didn't feel like bothering them; they were spending time with their families.

Katsuya was a cheerful-seeming person, but no one knew how much he hurt inside.

Meanwhile…

Anzu Masaki sat on a bench in Domino Park. It was Christmas Eve, and her parents were fighting about random, stupid things.

She couldn't take it anymore; she had to get out of the house, but she didn't want to bother her friends.

She played the role of the happy girl, but no one really knew how she was hurting.

"Anzu?" asked a voice.

She turned. "Oh. Jounouchi-kun…Hi."

"You shouldn't be out here; it's cold," the blond told her.

"Says the guy without even a coat?" the brunette asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm not cold," he said, then shivered as a small breeze hit him.

"Was it…your dad?"

"…Yeah. It was."

"I see…"

"Anzu…go home. It's not safe out here at night."

"Where will you go, though?"

He shrugged, and she sighed.

"I have a friend who might let you stay with her," Anzu suggested.

"Nah."

The girl frowned, then said, "Well, what if I give you an early Christmas present?"

Katsuya was interested by this, as he so rarely ever got presents, and he knew Anzu was the type who would put a lot of thought and heart into any gift she got a friend.

"I…I dunno…"

"You'll really like this present, though, Jounouchi-kun," she promised, standing right in front of him.

"Well…ah, okay!"

"All right, then…Close your eyes, and hold out your hand."

The blond did as he was told, but nothing was deposited in his hand except her own.

However, he did feel something on his lips, and realized, with a degree of shock, that it was HER lips.

His eyes widened to the size of dinner plates, before she pulled away.

"Merry Christmas, Jounouchi-kun," she whispered to him, before opening her hand, and leaving with him a piece of paper with her friend's address on it, then going back home.

It was a very cold night, but the blond's feelings inside him, and his burning blush warmed him, and he made it to Anzu's friend, who was expecting him, as she had called her.

The next day they actually went to school…

"So, how was everyone's Christmas?" Yuugi Mutou asked.

"It was very good…" Anzu said, looking Katsuya square in the eye, instead of Yuugi.

He blushed and said, "It was…sweet…"

Anzu smiled, knowing he was referring to the caramel she had eaten before she had left home, that he had probably been able to taste.

"Did I miss something?" Hiroto Honda asked in confusion.

Anzu sat on Katsuya's desk, started palying with his hair and said, "Not really."

The blond took one of her hands, and kissed it. "Merry Christmas, Anzu," he whispered, so only she could hear.
