Chapter 1

Amy's Pov

"Dan, you are such a dweeb," said 14 year old Amy Cahill as she placed her brand new backpack on the sofa.

"What!" Dan cried staring at his sister. The two of them were looking through their school supplies. School was starting tomorrow and Dan was going to sixth grade and Amy was going to ninth grade.

"I'm talking about your school supplies. A backpack, a ninja lunchbox, even your notebook has ninjas on it. I mean, really," replied Amy.

"Whatever," he muttered. He put all of his school supplies into the bag and threw it into a corner.

"Why did you do that?" asked Nellie taking out her earphones of her ipod from her ear, "Those were new supplies and I thought you likes ninjas."

"Whatever," he muttered again. Amy and Nellie exchanged glances. If Dan has a problem with ninjas, there has to be something wrong.

"Are you alright, Dan? You're not saying much," commented Amy. He just shrugged. "I'm going to my room," Amy said. She got up and flung the bag over her shoulder.

"Go to bed early. You have to get up early for school," called Nellie as Amy walked down the hall. Amy was silent.

School. That meant high school for Amy. Oh my god, this is going to be horrible. Maybe that's why Dan's upset. But what does he have to worry about? He's going to the same school, thought Amy.

She reached the last door on the left side of the hallway and twisted in open. She walked in, dropped her bag, and flopped onto the bed. Beside her bed was a bedside table and on the other side was a bookshelf. As much as Amy loved reading, she wasn't in the mood now. She was looking at her new cell phone. It was a Blackberry.

I think Ian has a Blackberry, thought Amy, oh, get over him. But she couldn't. The hunt had just ended a few days ago and she was still thinking about how concerned Ian had looked when he had said that he was happy that Amy hadn't gotten hurt at the globe theater. But she knew that he didn't care for her. Not after Korea, Australia, and the Caribbean. He has to be lying. Or had he? He's still not the best person to trust, she thought.

She shook away the thought and pulled the covers over her head. She closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
