Chapter 8: Bella's POV

After the movie was over, I turned around to find Terrie fast asleep. I chuckled a little bit. I had a feeling that was going to happen. Especially if she is sick. I got out of bed as quietly so I wouldn't wake up Terrie. I turned off the movie and tucked Terrie in. Careful not to mess up her wires.

I walked over to were dad was sitting at his desk and gave him a hug.

" Is the movie over already?" Dad asked.

" Yes. Terrie fell asleep while watching it and I wanted to finish it." I admitted

Dad chuckled at me and gave me a kiss on the forehead.

" I'm going to see if Edward needs help. I can smell that soup from up here and it smells delious." I said.

I looked over at Terrie. I was trying to decide if I should actually go down or stay with her.

" Your sister will be fine. I promise to call you if something comes up." Dad said.

" Okay."

I left to go downstairs and I managed not to trip over my own feet. That was a first for me. I did a quite victory cheer in my head.

I got downstairs and went into the kitchen. For somebody who doesn't eat, he can sure cook good. I can't wait to try some of that soup!

I snuck up behind Edward and wrapped my arms around him. I am sure he could smell my scent, but he acted surprise when he saw me.

"Hello Love. How was your movie?" Edward asked me.

"It was good as always. Terrie fell asleep though. Which doesn't surprise me." I said with a chuckle.

Edward chuckled. We kissed for a few moments. But then we pulled apart because Edward had to stir the soup.

"Is it almost done?" I asked.

"In about a half an hour. I have to add the dumplings in about twenty minutes." Edward said.

"When will Mom be home and the others?" I asked.

"Tomorrow morning. They are going to finish up hunting in Canada and head back home tonight." Edward said.

"Good. I'm starting to miss them." I said.

We were quite for a minute. It was so quite in the house, we can hear the soup bubbling, and the sound of the grandfather clock going off.

"Do you have any homework?" Edward asked me.

"A little bit. I have to do a book report on Romeo and Juliet. The paper has to be at least three pages long. Shouldn't be hard though. I have read the book at least five times, so it will be easy. Some Spanish homework, and a little bit of Math." I said with a sigh.

Aside from Biology, Math and Spanish were my difficult subjects. But, I had Edward to help me with those.

"What is the matter Bella?" Edward asked me.

"I'm worried about Terrie. When do you think she will get better? I feel so helpless not being able to help her." I said.

Edward wrapped me up in a hug.

"She will be fine. Alice is looking out for her. And dad is doing everything in his power to make sure she will get better." Edward said.

" Why don't you go and do some homework. Get your mind off things. The soup will be done in just about fifteen minutes." Edward said. He gave me a kiss and left to take care of the soup.

I went up to Edwards room and grabbed my laptop, my laptop charger, and my book and went downstairs to start on the book report. I was just turning on the computer and getting setup when I saw Edward looking up at the celling.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Nothing serious. Terrie just threw up and it scared her. Carlisle is talking to her and comforting her. She will be okay." Edward said.

I was about to go upstairs when Edward put his hand on my arm to stop me. I looked up at him.

"Don't go. Let them have some bonding time okay? Terrie is fine and Carlisle is talking to her." Edward told me.

"Alright." I sighed.

Giving in, I went back to my homework. Edward finished putting in the dumplings and let them sit for a while longer. I started to type my essay.

As I was about halfway done with the first page when Edward said the soup was done. He got two bowls and spoons. I grabbed a Pepsi and some Apple Juice for Terrie. With Terrie's lunch (and my snack since I had lunch), we walked upstairs.

When we got up there, I saw Carlisle holding Terrie and rubbing soothing circles on her back. He was talking to her gently. She must have been crying because she was only whimpering know and had some hiccups.

" How is she?" I asked.

I put the drinks down on the table and sat on the chair.

"Better. She threw up and it scared her. She thought I was going to get mad at her from getting the sheets dirty. But of course I wasn't." Carlisle explained.

"Oh Terrie. You are ok. Carlisle isn't mad. He works at the hospital remember? He is used to this kind of stuff." I said to her.

Terrie looked at me and said "Okay."

"It looks like Edward had made you some soup Terrie. Do you think you are up to trying some?" Carlisle asked her.

Terrie shook her head no. I sighed. Afraid this was going to happen.

"It smells so good Terrie, I think you'll like it. I am going to have some." I told her.

Terrie hid her face in Carlisle's chest. Clutching onto his shirt.

"I want you to try some of it. I don't want to put a feeding tube in you. At least try and eat half of it okay?" Carlisle asked her.

"Okay." Terrie sighed.

"Do you think you can eat by yourself or do you want one of us to feed you?" Carlisle asked.

"Can Edward help?" Terrie asked.

"Of course I can." Edward said.

Edward moved to sit on the chair and started to blow on the soup to make it cooler. Then he started to feed her.

I went and sat at Carlisle's desk and worked on my bowl of soup as well.
