Yeah, so I forgot what it was that I was reading; but I was thinking about House instead, (cuz House is cooler…) and I thought about the sad ending for Cameron and Chase and well… Chase's hair. I mean REALLY? Chase has only 2 good qualities: His accent, and his HAIR! WHY WOULD HE JUST CUT IT OFF? Set after Chase/Cameron divorce, explaination of Chase's new doo. A depressing, angsty one-shot. Its a bit poetic too... *sniffle*

It was like nothing else existed; like a dim fog settled over his vision, making it impossible for him to see anything else. Her. Even when he wasn't thinking of her, he saw her at every corner of his life.

He rolled over on his bed, sensing the empty space beside him. He squinted at the clock. 2:13 am… He sat up, rubbing his hands over his eyes. Her picture sat on his bedside table, screaming of what he lost. Her. He knocked the frame away; disappointed when the glass didn't break.

He slipped out of bed, tossing her favorite sheets to the floor. The silence, the emptiness that enveloped the room, made it impossible for him to breathe. He knew he still loved her, but he hated her for causing him this pain that he couldn't seem to outrun.

His feet took him to the bathroom; he splashed cold water on his face, trying to wash the thoughts away. It didn't work. Nothing worked. He raised his head, staring at the zombie in the mirror. His eyes trailed to his mussed blonde hair, the hair she had absolutely adored…

With a grunt or rage, he slammed his fist into the face in front of him. The mirror shattered, his features became distorted. He gripped the edge of the counter, white knuckled, shaking at the sudden rush of adrenaline. He ripped open the cabinet below him and snatched the buzz cutter.

Staring at his cracked features in the mirror, he ran it over his head, removing the final remnants of her intense choke hold on his life. Waves of blonde hair fell into the sink along with the shards of mirror, and for just one more excruciatingly painful moment, he thought of her.

Her.

"What, did Cameron get your hair in the divorce too?" House exclaimed as he strolled into the office room the next day.

If House had noticed the scars on Chase's knuckle, he didn't mention it. At least they were healing now.
