I don't own the Outsiders.

Enjoy

Ponyboy was part of a secret club. It was so secret that there were only nine members. Some were greasers, some were socs, and others were simply students from the high school. But in the club, there was no label, just people.

They would meet every Saturday night, out at an abandoned house near the lake. It was still study and had been for years. The club goes back to when they were little kids. Back then, they would play games and talk about school. Now that they are older and a bit smarter, they decided to make it a different kind of club.

Every Saturday, they would bring flashlights, blankets, food, hot chocolates, lanterns, and finally a large book. Inside the book were stories that they have written and paper clipped into the book.

That's right; the club members would write and tell stories on Saturday night.

It could be anything from true stories to scary stories and even ones that made you laugh until you started to cry.

It's here that they could be themselves with no "Greaser vs. Socs" battles and no the worries of school and family.

They each had a…not so perfect past. They didn't ask each other too much about their personal lives, they told each other through stories. Paula, a girl at Pony's school is abused by her family since she was a child. She seldom went home; she would stay over at her grandmother's house or at her friend's house. The mom would rather her stay with them anyway. They tried to get the police to help but her family knew how to cover up abuse well. Besides, the police don't really care about those kinds of things. She even saw her dad pay them to not report anything. So she just lives with friends and her grandmother most of the time. The last time she was forced to go home…she didn't want to say what happened.

The shack to them was a safe, little sanctuary from their worlds. Here they could comfort each other, dream and make-believe. It was like they were little kids again.

On a warmish Saturday night, they went to the shack and set up as usual. They all sat down on the floor that they covered with the blankets.

Pony had the book in his hands and placed it near the middle of their circle.

"So Pony…what story did you write" asked one of them.

"By the way pony, you weren't here last week. Are you ok?"

Pony nodded and took out his notebook, "This story is going to be my report for school, but I wanted to share it with you guys first. It's a true story."

They nodded and Pony boy began, "As I stepped out into the bright sunlight, from the darkened movie house…"
