A/N: Peter Pan does not belong to me.

Wendy was vaguely aware of it being autumn, for a few stray leaves had blown in through the open window with large gusts of cold wind. But Wendy didn't mind the room was cold. She could hardly tell.

The sun eventually set, and the sky became a foggy orange color, with dark blue threatening to settle. It was getting dark, but Wendy didn't mind. She could hardly tell.

The sky became midnight black, with the stars shining up above every busy street and building. The lights in her room were dim, so Wendy could not see much, but she didn't mind. She could hardly tell.

The clock struck midnight, sending loud chimes throughout the house. Still, she didn't mind and could hardly tell.

She waited through the night, and the next day, and the next night, hardly aware of the cycle repeating itself. It didn't bother her. She would wait as long as it took.

The cold wind came through the window again, sending a shiver down her spine. It is a sign, she realized, my time has come.

She began to close her eyes, but something stopped her. The sound of footsteps on the windowsill, a light tap noise. Wendy turned her head to see what had caused it.

There was Peter, standing in the window, looking at her. Wendy tried to smile, but she was too weak to do so. He walked over to her, trying not to make much noise.

"Hello, Peter," Wendy whispered, her voice hoarse.

"Hello, Wendy," he replied and held out his hand.

Wendy tried to reach her hand out, but stopped, startled, when she noticed that it was much easier to move. She looked down at her hand. The wrinkles had smoothed out, and her flesh was soft. Her fingers were long, straight, and dainty, just as they had used to be when she was young.

"You can come with me now," Peter said, smiling.

"I can, can't I?" She asked. Her voice had reverted back to the way it had sounded all those years ago.

Knowing it was her time, Wendy finally closed her eyes. She took Peters hand and smiled, for she knew she would finally be going with him to Neverland forever...

~~ Now I lay me down to sleep,

I pray the Lord my soul to keep.

Guide me through the starry night;

Wake me when the sun shines bright.

I ask not for myself alone,

But for thy children... every one. ~~
