Hi everyone!

I got the idea for this one-shot from this picture; http:/ / my . deviantart . com / messages/ # / d2xlbgd (Take out the spaces)

I thought it would be funny to write a one-shot where Zuko hears Katara talking to someone while he waits outside her tent so here it is.

This takes place during the Southern Raiders.

Disclaimer: I own nothing, but the plot.

Eavesdropping

"Suki," Sokka whispers.

Zuko looks back at him with a blank expression. Realizing he's been caught, Sokka tries to play it off by whistling as if nothing weird just happened. Zuko laughs a little to himself as he walks over to Katara's tent. Taking a seat on a large rock, he contemplates whether or not he should wake her up and talk to her. Just as he gets up to enter the tent he hears voices coming from inside.

"He's such a jerk," Katara grumbles.

"You have to trust him at some point, Katara," Aang speaks.

Zuko leans in closer as he realizes that they're talking about him.

The teenage girl huffs. "I know, but I really don't want to."

"Why are you so upset with him?"

She turns away from Aang and wraps her arms around herself. "I lost you because of him."

A sad silence falls between the two of them and tears slide down Katara's cheeks. "He helped take you from me."

Even though Zuko knows it's not entirely his fault, he can't help but feel completely guilty as he listens to the pairs' conversation.

"I don't care that he lied about saying he's changed or whatever," she continues. "All I care about is the fact that he hurt you and let her hurt you."

Aang's heart sinks and he puts his hand on the girl's shoulder causing her to turn around. He wipes the tears from her face and grabs her chin between his thumb and index finger, lifting her head to look at him. She smiles lightly at the boy who holds her heart.

"I'm so sorry that you've had to hurt so much because of this," Aang starts. " But you have to learn to let things go."

He moves his hand to her cheek. "The longer you hold this in and stay angry with him, the more miserable you're going to be."

She nods. "How is it that you're always right?"

Aang shrugs. "I wouldn't say I'm always right, just for a majority of the time."

She laughs softly and moves closer to the boy before her. Aang settles his hands on her hips as she places one of her hands softly on his cheek and the other on his shoulder. Katara pulls him forward, closing the gap between them and settles her lips on his.

Clueless as to why the two are so quiet, Zuko leans in closer to the tent flap. Unfortunately he leans in too much and falls, knocking down the flap covering Katara's tent and landing right in front of the flushed couple. All was quiet as the three stayed frozen in place. Finally, Katara and Aang moved apart.

Katara glares at Zuko as she puts her hands on her hips. "What are you doing here?"

"Um," he mumbles.

An awkward silence falls between them before Aang and Katara erupt in laughter.

"What are you laughing at?" Zuko asks.

"You should see your face," Aang manages between laughs.

Katara's eyes began to tear up from laughing so hard.

"Wait, you're not mad?" Zuko asks.

"As long as you don't tell Sokka or anyone else about what you saw, we're good," Aang says.

"Alright," Zuko says slowly as he back out of the tent.

As he stepped outside and took his place back on the rock he realized that he still needed to talk to Katara. He turned around to walk back inside, but decided against it once he realized Aang was still inside the tent as well.
