Chapter 1

One winter morning 26 year old Luke wakes up next to 25 year old Lorelai and gently kisses her and gets up trying to to wake or disturb Lorelai and gets dressed and goes downstairs to the diner to open up and looks upand sees something outside his door so he unlocks the door and looks down and notices that it's an infant and just looks at the little pink baby in the carseat and looks around but sees nobody and carefully picks up the carrier and brings it inside and sets it down on a table and reads a note attached to the baby.

It reads

Dear Luke this is April Katherine Nardini your daughter hope you can take care of her and raise her and be a great dad to her don't try and contact me because you won't be able to find me.
signed Anna Nardini

''oh boy.'' Luke says and rubs his scruffy beard and takes the baby upstairs and puts her on the table and Lorelai starts to wake up and sits up.

''what...what is that?'' Lorelai asks him

''my daughter.'' he tells her

''what?'' she questions him

''yup.'' he says

''but who...when?'' she questions him

''my ex girlfriend from high school apparantly.'' he tells her

Lorelai gets up out of bed and walks over.

''she looks cold.'' Lorelai tells him

''yea well I found her outside.'' he tells her

''you don't know how long she was outside for?'' she asks him picks up the baby

''that's not good Luke she's freezing!'' Lorelai tells him and starts to take off her little snowsuit trying to get her warm and takes her over to the bed and holds her close to her chest pulling the covers back over her.

Rory starts to wake up and sits up in her bed ''Mommy?'' she questions rubbing her eyes

''oh hey baby good morning.'' Lorelai says

Rory looks at her weirdly.

''Mommy you had a baby in the night?'' Rory asks her panicking

''oh no kido your daddy found her outside.'' she tells her

''oh.'' Rory says and goes over and gets on the bed next to Lorelai

''what's her name?'' Rory asks her

Lorelai looks at Luke.

''April.'' he tells her

''okay this is April baby.'' Lorelai tells her

''she is staying with us?'' Rory asks her

''yea looks like it.'' Lorelai tells her
